Active inactive dead bluetooth

Can’t type on bluetoothctl

My OS is Arch Linux. I just trying to use the bluetooth of my laptop using the terminal. I used bluetoothctl command, but I can’t type anymore on it. I also run it with root privilege.

[x@X ~]$ sudo bluetoothctl [sudo] password for X: [bluetooth]#

I also check my bluetooth daemon using the systemctl status bluetooth command and it print something that I don’t know what it is and I also don’t know what to do next.

[x@X ~]$ systemctl status bluetooth ● bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled) Active: inactive (dead) Docs: man:bluetoothd(8)

Your bluetooth service is dead [ Active: inactive (dead) ], so you can’t use it.

To get it active and running [ Active: active (running) ], just do the following:

Load the generic bluetooth driver, if not already loaded by typing the following in your terminal:

sudo systemctl start bluetooth.service

Check the status again [ systemctl status bluetooth.service ] and you should find it’s now active and running [ Active: active (running) ]

Your bluetoothd is not running, try sudo systemctl start bluetooth

This must be a security feature. it’s really annoying when dealing with a SOC device with only one USB port, that reboots whenever you change the USB device due to constrained power.

chip@chip:~$ systemctl status bluetooth bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled) Active: active (running) since Thu 2018-12-27 04:17:24 UTC; 44min ago Docs: man:bluetoothd(8) Main PID: 394 (bluetoothd) Status: "Running" CGroup: /system.slice/bluetooth.service 394 /usr/lib/bluetooth/bluetoothd chip@chip:~$ bluetoothctl [bluetooth]#

Can’t type! Works fine on terminal. just remotely it doesn’t.

chip@chip:~$ sudo bluetoothctl

Bluetooth не работает в Ubuntu 21.04

Bluetooth

Это ошибка в пакете. Это было исправлено в:

Просто обновите свою систему (или bluez только пакет), чтобы решить проблему:

$ sudo apt update $ sudo apt full-upgrade # or $ sudo apt --only-upgrade install bluez

sudo systemctl restart bluetooth service bluetooth restart

service bluetooth service

Я пробовал все вышеперечисленное, чтобы не авиал.

Я также заметил, что журнал файлов конфигурации пуст? Это нормально? Я понял это только когда разогнал процессор.

Bluetooth service inactive (dead) after run update and upgrade

Post by wllc » Thu Nov 18, 2021 8:40 am

Everyday before work I run sudo apt update -y && sudo apt upgrade -y.
Today, while the commands were running, my bluetooth disconnected and the message «No bluetooth adapters found» appeared.

I found the «reinstall bluetooth packages» solution here, but didnt work.

I tried to run systemctl start bluetooth because the bluetooth service status is «inactive (dead)», but it didnt output any error.

Arch Linux

I installed Arch + KDE Plasma on a laptop that has an Intel 8260 wifi+bluetooth card.

Network: Card-1: Intel Wireless 8260 driver: iwlwifi Card-2: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCIE Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver: r8169

Wifi works, but bluetooth does not work. bluez and bluedevil are installed and the bluetooth service has been enabled:

● bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled) Active: inactive (dead) Docs: man:bluetoothd(8)
0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no

I am running the stock Arch kernel (4.14.8-1-ARCH). I booted using the zen kernel but it did not help. Prior to installing Arch on this Laptop I ran Manjaro KDE on it and bluetooth worked flawlessly.

Suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance.

EDIT: SOLVED by two cold boots.

Re: [SOLVED] Bluetooth does not work

More information. After issuing

sudo modprobe btusb sudo systemctl restart bluetooth

systemctl status bluetooth returns
