Как установить KDE Plasma 5 на Arch Linux

KDE Plasma 5 — это настольная среда пятого поколения от KDE. Плазма KDE требует меньше места и имеет более высокую скорость работы. Установите KDE на Arch Linux

Первое что требуется сделать это обновите Arch Linux с помощью менеджера пакетов «pacman». Откройте терминал и введите следующую команду.

Теперь установите следующие пакеты:

• plasma-настольная среда для KDE
• sddm-дисплейный менеджер для plasma KDE
• kde-application – для различных приложений KDE

$ sudo pacman -S plasma sddm kde-applications

Вам будет предложено выбрать пакеты, но вы можете просто выбрать значениям по умолчанию.

После завершения установки проверьте текущий менеджер дисплеев, выполнив следующую команду.

$ file /etc/systemd/system/display-manager. service

В моем случае дисплейным менеджером является lightdm. Но у вас может быть другой менеджер. Все зависит от того, что вы выбрали при установке Arch Linux.

Теперь вы должны отключить текущий дисплейный менеджер. Делается это простой командой:

$ sudo systemctl disable lightdm

Далее надо включить диспетчер сеансов для plasma ‘sddm’, после требуется перезагрузите систему.

После перезагрузки появится следующий экран. Вам требуется выбрать «Plasma» и ввести свой пароль. Далее вы войдете в KDE plasma desktop top.

Чтобы увидеть установленную версию, нажмите на меню запуска. Затем найдите ‘системную информацию » и нажмите на нее.

На момент написания статьи, последней версией является KDE Plasma 5.20.4

Arch Linux

The image can be burned to a CD, mounted as an ISO file, or be directly written to a USB flash drive. It is intended for new installations only; an existing Arch Linux system can always be updated with pacman -Syu .

Existing Arch Users

If you are an existing Arch user, there is no need to download a new ISO to update your existing system. You may be looking for an updated mirrorlist instead.

BitTorrent Download (recommended)

If you can spare the bytes, please leave the client open after your download is finished, so you can seed it back to others.
A DHT capable client is required. A WebSeed capable client is recommended for fastest download speeds.

Netboot

If you have a wired connection, you can boot the latest release directly over the network.

Vagrant images

Vagrant images for libvirt and virtualbox are available on the Vagrant Cloud. You can bootstrap the image with the following commands:

vagrant init archlinux/archlinux
vagrant up

Docker image

The official Docker image is available on Docker Hub. You can run the image with the following command:

Official virtual machine images are available for download on our GitLab instance, more information is available in the README.

HTTP Direct Downloads

In addition to the BitTorrent links above, install images can also be downloaded via HTTP from the mirror sites listed below. Please ensure the download image matches the checksum from the sha256sums.txt or b2sums.txt file in the same directory as the image.

The release signing key can be downloaded with WKD:

sq wkd get pierre@archlinux.org -o release-key.pgp

With this key the signature can be verified like this:

sq verify —signer-file release-key.pgp —detached archlinux-2023.07.01-x86_64.iso.sig archlinux-2023.07.01-x86_64.iso

Arch Linux Download

Arch Linux is an independently developed Linux distribution geared towards experienced Linux users. Its main aim is on simplicity and minimalism. There are not many packages installed by default, basically just what the system absolutely needs in order to run. There isn’t even a desktop environment unless you install one yourself.

The result of this approach is a lean and mean operating system with a lot of options for customization. Arch is recommended for Linux veterans that want more control over their system. Arch Linux sits close to the bleeding edge, making it more suited for a desktop computer or Raspberry Pi, etc. Arch Linux only has a command line interface by default, but there are a lot of desktop environments that it officially supports, including GNOME, Xfce, KDE, and many of the other most common choices for Linux users.

Manjaro is based on Arch Linux, taking its best features and adding a dash of user friendliness. It’s a good distro to check out if you appreciate Arch’s ideals but are a little intimidated by the complexity of configuring things from the ground up.

Arch Linux Release Schedule

Arch Linux uses a rolling release system, which means updates just flow regularly and there are no newer versions that you need to upgrade to. Being that Arch is so big on simpilicity, it makes sense that the developers chose the most simple route for upgrades.

Arch uses the Pacman package manager, made by the Arch developers themselves, to deliver updates and new software. Even though Arch doesn’t include a lot of user conveniences by default, Pacman is easy to use and will resolve package dependencies for you automatically like most other package managers. Contrast this to Slackware, which has an even harsher learning curve in this respect.

Download Arch Linux

Arch Linux is available for download from the Arch download page. There is only one ISO file available, as there are no separate editions of Arch Linux.

Arch’s Pacman package manager is used to update the operating system with a single command. You won’t need to download a new copy of Arch in the future unless you want a fresh reinstall.

Closing Thoughts

Arch Linux will yield you a speedy and reliable system with minimal packages and endless customization. In the spirit of simplicity, Arch doesn’t offer many user conveniences, like a default desktop environment.
