These mirrors are not listed by default in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist , therefore not distributed within pacman-mirrorlist .

Note: The mirror list only contains the mirror URL, these should be modified by appending $repo/os/$arch to the end of the URL when adding them to /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

Up to date

Up to date mirrors have the latest packages, and remain synchronised with the official arch repositories. These mirrors can be used like any official mirror distributed by pacman-mirrorlist .

Unofficial user repositories/Repo-ck

Repo-ck is an unofficial Arch Linux repository hosting generic and CPU-optimized kernels. It has been in operation since 2011 and is maintained by graysky.

Selecting the correct CPU optimized package

If a model specific kernel is not offered, users should select one of the three generic packages that is best matched to the specific hardware. To tell which generic package is best, simply run:

$ /lib/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 --help | grep supported

If x86-64-v3 (supported, searched) is in the output, use the ck-generic-v3 group. If only x86-64-v2 (supported, searched) is in the output, use the ck-generic-v2 group. If neither are in the output, use the ck-generic group.

Those wanting CPU-specific optimized packages can run the following command (assuming that base-devel is installed):

$ gcc -c -Q -march=native --help=target | grep march

The resulting -march is what GCC would use natively. Refer to the table above for a mapping of this value to the correct group; again, not every possible value will have a specific group.

Warning: Intel CPU optimized packages support only full Core2 series and i3/i5/i7 series chips. Many Pentium/Celeron chips lack the full requisite instruction sets to make use of the optimized packages. Users of these chips should install the generic packages, even if GCC returns a value corresponding to full core i3/i5/i7 match such as haswell.

Speed benefits of CPU optimized packages

Extensive testing comparing the effect of GCC compile options show varying results, from no change to rather significant speed ups. [1] [2] [3]

Setup

Add repository

Add the repository to /etc/pacman.conf under the Arch official repositories:

[repo-ck] Server = http://repo-ck.com/$arch

# pacman-key -r 5EE46C4C --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com && pacman-key --lsign-key 5EE46C4C

Additional mirror

aviallon hosts a mirror with better bandwidth and stability, synchronized every 6 hours. You can add it to your pacman.conf :

[repo-ck] Server = https://mirror.lesviallon.fr/$repo/os/$arch Server = http://repo-ck.com/$arch

Install kernel

Update your sync database and install the chosen kernel variant (see above for available variants):

Update boot loader configuration

If you are using GRUB with a common setup, then you can update its configuration by regenerating the main configuration file.

Неофициальные пользовательские репозитории Arch Linux

Многие, как мне кажется, не знают про неофициальные репозитории Arch Linux. В частности, ютубер Plafon, насколько я помню, постоянно пересобирал кастомные ядра из AUR, хотя они есть в пользовательских репозиториях. Сразу уточню, что они работают и в Manjaro. Перечислю самые интересные из них:

Chaotic-aur

В основном имеет пакеты связанные с ядром linux-tkg и дистрибутивом Garuda Linux, но также там есть много пакетов из AUR, таких как mesa-git, flameshot-git и т.д.

xfce4-devel

Насколько я понял, содержит предварительно скомпилированные пакеты программ окружения Xfce.

kernel-lts

Содержит поддерживаемые lts ядра 44, 49, 414, 419, 54 (наименование из AUR).

trinity

Содержит одноименное окружение рабочего стола (форк KDE3).

liquorix

Содержит ядро liquorix (судя по отзывам людей, отлично работает на старом железе).

Не стал расписывать про греческий репозиторий апплетов KDE4 и различные репозитории с различными штуками для программирования, т.к мало что в этом понимаю.

Крайне мало текста в статье, но и репозиториев для Arch LInux тоже не слишком много, и в основном они просто хранят собранные пакеты из AUR.

Даже приблизительно не представляю, сколько это экономит времени.

Не уверен, что вся информация, поданная здесь, может быть безопасно использована.
Может это и «супер круто», для какого-то юзера, использовать сноски на эти репы, но информации настолько мало, что я даже не представляю себе, если что-то пойдет не так — к кому обращаться? Может я еще не дорос до «понимания», но там ничего нет, кроме того, что «кто-то маинтейтит» какой-то определенный кусок какой-то проги.
Думаю, что этот пост(материал) нужно еще основательно доработать до удобоваримого формата.
Не спорю — я довольно продвинутый «чайник» в Линуксе. Но. таких, как я — большинство! Даже на этом ресурсе.
