The base structure is similar to other puzzle games where you push and move things to reach the goal, but an important difference with respect to other games is that the rules of the level itself are included in the scenario as objects within it that can be pushed and changed at the convenience of the player. This gives a very curious feeling of feeling smarter than the game because of that feeling of breaking or changing rules, but it really is a fairly open system that allows you to pass levels in different ways.

Games made in game jams are usually small due to the fact that you have a tiny amount of time to develop a game from scratch (usually 2 to 7 days) but sometimes quite original ideas come out like this title that turned a small prototype in an award winning in its complete version of 2019.

About The Game

Baba Is You is an award-winning puzzle game where you can change the rules yourself during the game. At each level, rules are presented as blocks that you can interact with; using them, you can change the mechanics of the level and sometimes achieve very unusual results! With a simple move of a block, you can turn yourself into stone, grass into fiery lava – and even change the goal you need to achieve in the level to something completely different.

How to Download & Install Baba Is You Linux Game

1. Click the Download link below and you should already have installed a download client on your system.
2. Notification will pop and say “that our site wants to open this application”. Click the button to open the client to let the download begin and wait for it to finish.
3. Once Game Baba Is You for linux is done downloading, Extract (Unzip) “*******.tar.gz” -if you encounter this file- (To do this you must know how extract .tar.gz Files using Linux Command Line here).
4. Right click the ./start.sh, select “Properties”, go to the “Permissions” tab, mark the file as executable. Then just treat it more or less like one of those Setup.exe’s on Windows. Double-click it to run it.

How to Download Baba Is You

Guide: Installing Baba Is You on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with «Steam Play.» To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click «Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles.»

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the «Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles» option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn’t tested, toggle the «Enable Steam Play for all titles» option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click «OK» and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam’s whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the «Play» button.

Baba Is You is a puzzle game where the rules you have to follow are present as blocks you can interact with. By manipulating them, you can change how the game works, repurpose things you find in the levels and cause surprising interactions!

Baba Is You is an award-winning puzzle game where you can change the rules by which you play. In every level, the rules themselves are present as blocks you can interact with; by manipulating them, you can change how the level works and cause surprising, unexpected interactions! With some simple block-pushing you can turn yourself into a rock, turn patches of grass into dangerously hot obstacles, and even change the goal you need to reach to something entirely different.

The game has over 200 levels that experiment with the game’s mechanics in a multitude of ways, requiring the player to understand and manipulate the rules of the game and figure out devious ways to make the objects in the game world interact.

The game was originally created for and won the Nordic Game Jam 2017. Baba Is You also won the Excellence in Design and Best Student Game awards in the Independent Games Festival 2018, and was nominated a finalist in 2 other categories, including the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. The game was made using Multimedia Fusion 2 by Clickteam.
