Icon set that imitate look to the icons of the new apple operating system version 11, created 100% in inkscape, no blurry backgrounds, instead I use the gradient tool and the technique of repeating multiple transparent images to give the same effect, this to ensure correct representation in all desktop environments, especially those written in qt libraries, As of beta 0.0.4, png shadows have also been incorporated only when very necessary,

Download the latest version from «Pling.com». you will get a compressed file in «.tar.xz», uncompress in your HOME in the folder .icons . If it does not exist, create it.

In the KDE desktop environment, uncompress the «.tar.xz» file to

/home/your-username/.local/share/icons 

Alternatively, you can uncompress the «.tar.xz» file in /usr/share/icons with root previleges (using sudo ).

WhiteSur Gtk Theme — это похожая на MacOS Big Sur тема для рабочих столов на базе Gnome, поддерживающая рабочие столы Gnome Shell, Cinnamon, Xfce, Pantheon, Budgie и Mate.

Пакет тем доступен как в светлых, так и в темных вариантах, имеющих как обычные (со слегка прозрачной боковой панелью в некоторых приложениях), так и контрастные версии.

Также есть дополнительная тема дока Plank для тех, кто хочет еще ближе познакомиться с macOS Big Sur. В качестве примечания: если вы используете Ubuntu и хотите отключить док Ubuntu, чтобы вместо него можно было использовать док Plank, см. эту статью.

Для темы требуется Gtk 3.20 или новее, поэтому она должна работать с большинством дистрибутивов Linux, например Ubuntu от 18.04 до 20.10 и т. д.

Тот же дизайнер/разработчик также создал тему значков WhiteSur, имитирующую тему значков MacOS Big Sur для десктопов Linux. Тема значков также доступна в светлых и темных вариантах.

Чтобы обойти эту проблему, разработчик темы создал надежные альтернативы тем (например, WhiteSur-light-solid и WhiteSur-dark-solit), в которых этой проблемы нет.

2. Пользователи Ubuntu 20.04 и 20.10 заметят, что при использовании этой темы приложение Ubuntu Software полностью прозрачно и непригодно для использования. Это связано с тем, что Ubuntu Software представляет собой приложение snap, начиная с Ubuntu 20.04, и это приводит к тому, что большинство сторонних тем не работают должным образом с Ubuntu Software.

По сути, любая тема Gtk, не входящая в оснастку common-themes, будет иметь эту проблему. Поддержка тем для snap находится в стадии разработки, и пока она не будет завершена, эта проблема будет сохраняться.

sudo apt install gnome-software

MacOS Big Sur like icon theme for linux desktops

Usage: ./install.sh [OPTIONS. ]

OPTIONS:
-d, —dest	Specify theme destination directory (Default: $HOME/.local/share/icons)
-n, —name	Specify theme name (Default: WhiteSur)
-t, —theme	Specify theme color variant(s) [default/purple/pink/red/orange/yellow/green/grey/all] (Default: blue)
-a, —alternative	Install alternative icons (redesigned MacOS default icons)
-b, —bold	Install bold panel icons version
-r,—remove,-u,—uninstall	Uninstall (remove) icon themes
-h, —help	Show this help

Note for snaps: To use these icons with snaps, the best way is to make a copy of the application’s .desktop located in /var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/name-of-the-snap-application.desktop into $HOME/.local/share/applications/ . Then use any text editor and change the «Icon=» to «Icon=name-of-the-icon.svg»

WhiteSur: macOS Big Sur Like Gtk, Gnome Shell And Icon Themes For Your Linux Desktop

The theme pack comes in both light and dark variants, both having regular (with the sidebar slightly transparent in some applications) and solid versions.

There’s also an optional Plank dock theme for those that want to achieve an even closer look to macOS Big Sur. As a side note, if you use Ubuntu and want to disable Ubuntu Dock so you can use Plank dock instead, see this article.

The theme requires Gtk 3.20 or newer, so it should work with most Linux distributions, e.g. from Ubuntu 18.04 to 20.10, etc.

The same designer / developer has also created a WhiteSur icon theme that mimics the macOS Big Sur icon theme for Linux desktops. The icon theme is also available in light and dark variants.

I realize not everyone likes the look of macOS, or to make their Linux desktop look like it, so this theme isn’t for everyone. But you have to admit it’s pretty cool that this is possible. And believe it or not, there are quite a few people that want to mimic the Mac look on Linux, and this article is for them.

Important things you need to know before using WhiteSur Gtk theme:

1. With Nvidia graphics (it definitely happens with proprietary drivers, I’m not sure if it also happens with Nouveau), the Nautilus sidebar doesn’t refresh after hovering over the items, making it look broken:

To work around this issue, the theme developer has created solid theme alternatives (e.g. WhiteSur-light-solid and WhiteSur-dark-solit), which don’t have this issue.

2. Ubuntu 20.04 and 20.10 users will notice that using this theme, the Ubuntu Software app is completely transparent and not usable. This is because Ubuntu Software is a snap app starting with Ubuntu 20.04, and this causes most third-party themes to not work properly with Ubuntu Software.

Basically, any Gtk theme that is not in the common-themes snap will have this problem; theming support is under development for snaps, and until it’s finished this issue will continue to persist.

A work-around for this exists though. Install Gnome Software:

sudo apt install gnome-software

After this, you’ll see «Ubuntu Software» in the applications menu, which is the Snap Store that has these theming issues, and «Software» which is Gnome Software (which doesn’t have these theming issues).

Download WhiteSur Gtk and Icon themes (and wallpaper)

The WhiteSure Gtk download button from above has the themes already compiled (includes the Gnome Shell and Plank themes). If you’d like to download the latest WhiteSur Gtk source from Git and build it yourself, see the theme GitHub page.

• Gtk: Extract the theme .tar.xz archive and copy the extracted folder in ~/.themes for your current user, or in /usr/share/themes (as root) for all users. If you’ve never installed a Gtk theme before, ~/.themes may not exist so create this folder.
• Icons: Extract the theme .tar.xz archive and copy the extracted folder in ~/.icons for your current user, or in /usr/share/icons (as root) for all users. If you’ve never installed an icon theme before, ~/.icons may not exist so create this folder.
