Bluetooth license check failed query
I am using Windows XP and have installed Bluetooth to run a mobile
phone. I have managed on one occasion to transfer my data to MS Outlook
but now keep getting the message «bluetooth license check failed, please
use a proper bluetooth device». I have installed a proper bluetooth
dongle into a USB hub connected to my PC. Can anyone tell me what is
wrong, to be so near installing it correctly and to fail like this is so
frustrating. I have paired my phone and PC correctly but this license
business is beating me, so frustrating.
I realise this is slightly off-topic but I hope someone will help,
please.

I can’t thank you enough for replying to my query. The manufacturer of
the «dongle» is Newlink and the software for the phone is Nokia.
It seems I must have got it right for a while because at about two am in
the morning I got my PC and phone to talk to each other and then,
removed all my old data from MS Outlook, (I don’t use it for email), and
managed to download all my contacts to it so I now have them stored and
backed up. However, the very next day when I opened up my PC it asked me
to install my bluetooth device all over again and now it does not «find»
it and in telling me I don’t have a license.
Sorry for my inadequate and longwinded explanation above which comes
from the fact that I haven’t a clue what is going on.
Hope you can make something of all that.

Am following up your suggestion above and am currently downloading a
fix, lets see what happens.
If I don’t get results then my «dongle» is for the «dangle» (sorry,
bin)!
Now the latest is the fix is taking all day to download via 512 ADSL,
whatever next?
Kind regards and much thanks for your help,

Well I was working towards a particular theory of something i’ve seen happen
before, but i’m not sure my idea is viable now. Kelly has got some good
resources for reading about the problem which may prove helpful, as you can
see, its quite common!
You might see if newlink have any special tools for completely cleaning your
current install of their bluetooth software and drivers off your machine, so
you can try the install again with a fresh slate. But to be honest, i’m
shooting in the dark here as much as you!

Bluetooth license check failed
I am using Windows XP and have installed Bluetooth to run a mobile phone. When I transfer my data to MS outlook, I am getting error, ‘Bluetooth License check failed. Please make sure that the Blutooth Device is plugged in/turned on, the device you are using is licensed for this software and that your license has not expired.‘ I also installed motorola phone tools for the razr and that program is not picking up the bluetooth signal. Thanks in advance.

Re: Bluetooth license check failed
It is necessary to verify that your Bluetooth is turned on and see what you have Bluetooth Devices in Device Manager. If that is all well and click the BT icon in the system tray, control panel or the desktop does not open My Bluetooth Places, then you better reinstall the Bluetooth software. TP Use Software Installer. I hope that helps.

Re: Bluetooth license check failed
Do you have any other Bluetooth device connected to the TP, along with the mouse? The mouse will run without SetPoint. But sacrificing a few settings. For example, I like to set Click Wheel = Back you can not do with the generic MS mouse SW.

Re: Bluetooth license check failed
I got to work today, finally. What helped me is to uninstall the Bluetooth driver installed the system update. After I downloaded a driver much older than the Lenovo home page «Microsoft Bluetooth support» instead of «software Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate». After restarting my Bluetooth is working .

Re: Bluetooth license check failed
Could you send me the link for the older driver that worked?
mine has been acting up the same way but so far everything i did brought no results.

Re: Bluetooth license check failed
I think you guys have Blue Soleil software from IVT Corporation. This problem occcurs when you use a new software over a older one. Search for IVT Corporation for Blue Soleil bluetooth software and you will get what you want. All the best!

Re: Bluetooth license check failed
Device drivers are small codes and files that form a bridge of communication between the hardware and operating system installed on a computer. You will need to be running with Administrator privileges or you will get security warnings. You will also need to manually disable the «WLAN Autoconfig» service or you will receive a warning about not being able to disable the WZC service.

Re: Bluetooth license check failed
Hi All.
thanks very much for the replies. I am a little illiterate when it comes to higher lever computing topics. I added the IVT but still no cigar, the old «thinkpad bluetooth with enhanced data rate II» keeps getting back event though i remove it.
thanks anyway.
cheers.
