Bose soundlink air no wifi

iTunes no longer able to connect to Bose Soundlink Air — what’s changed?

I gave a 2012/13 SoundLink Air which I have been using for years.

Suddenly not able to connect via Airplay (itunes) with my old Mac (running OSX 10.6.8), which it has been doing fine for years.

It still works fine with my iPad (6th gen) so I know the speaker is working.

Have tried a reset but still get this error message on iTunes;

«An error occurred while connecting to the airplay device — Bose Speaker. An unknown error occurred (10).»

Both items are on same wi-fi network.

Any insight out there? I can’t see that anything else has changed.

(Running Windows 10).After trying time after time another strange thing occurred; instead of saying «My Computer» the checkbox under multiple speakers shows «Please Verify Your Bluetooth Settings». That is particularly strange, isn’t it? It doesn’t matter if restart the computer, restart iTunes, or anything else. I have been using the same connections with airplay for years and this just happens suddenly now. Seemed to coincide with the recent upgrade to iTunes, which is why I rolled back to a different restore point on my PC. I may as well install the updates again, as rolling back did nothing.I am moderately proficient at solving computer problems, however, please don’t ask me to try something using terminal or Linux as that will not get us anywhere! Please, help me solve this problem. And yes all computers are on the same network.Thanks in advance for anything on this. (Most articles I found on airplay problems are from ages ago)

iTunes Not Connecting to Airport Express; Airport Express Reboot Hi, I’m having an issue with iTunes (version 12.6.2.20) connecting to Airport Express (7.8.2). I’m using an iMac that’s running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 I’ve been using Airport Express as airplay with an ethernet connection from my Xfinity wifi modem/router and a «headphone jack» out to my my amplifier for years with no problems. Recently iTunes stopped connecting to Airport Express (even after trying to «refresh» the connection in iTunes), and I cannot get it to reconnect. Worse yet, while troubleshooting, I tried rebooting Airport Express and I cannot get it to reconnect to back to the computer. Or I’ve been able to get Airport Utility to recognize it (buy not iTunes), and sometimes this shuts down my internet connection. I think there’s something going on with multiple wifi sources (I have 3, all of which are active?), but I really don’t know and I’m just guessing at this point. Any thoughts on first steps I can take to get Airport Express to reconnect with my iMac, and iTunes??
