Canon lide 120 драйвер linux
Не получается заставить работать сканер canon lide 120. Сам сканер в системе виден
sane-find-scanner
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x190e [CanoScan], chip=GL848+) at libusb:001:024
scanimage -L
device `genesys:libusb:001:024′ is a Canon LiDE 120 flatbed scanner
scanimage -d genesys:libusb:001:024 > /tmp/image.pnm

Driver needed for Canon Lide 120 Scanner
Post by Alvin » Fri Mar 15, 2019 3:58 pm
A driver is needed so that I may use my Canon Lide 120 scanner with my Linux 19.1 Mint cinnamon system.
I do not wish to use the provided «Simple scan». It works but is does not allow operation from the buttons on the scanner. Also, it produced a copy with a grey background rather than paper-whiite. Lastly, it is an indirect method, requiring the use of Office Writer to obtain a printed copy from a pdf.
Is there a driver available to make full use of my scanner with Linux Mint? Your attention is appreciated.

Strange I do not have any problem with my Lide 20 or Lide 210 with simple scan on wither 18.3 or 19.1 Cinnamon.

Tomgin5: Not strange at all! You do not specify how you are using your scanner. I want to use mine as I do in Windows7. There, I run the scan from the buttons on the scanner, any one of them. I do not have to create a PDF file in order to make a printed copy. I just turn on my printer and press the copy button on the scanner. I have to make a PDF with simple scan, then use an editor to send it to the printer. I find that unsatisfactory. Maybe, you are more easily satisfied.

I had an old Canon Canoscan similar to your model. I understand what you want to do, i.e. push the Copy button and have the system automatically scan and print the results. I don’t think Canon supplies software to support this feature in Linux. However.
If I recall, there is a package which installs a daemon to monitor and act on the scanner buttons. I looked in Software Manager and the current package is Scanbd (older package is Scanbuttond which is what I remembered). I believe the package allows trigger of scripts for COPY-PRINT. Not much in the Forum on that package, but there may be some tips over at Ubuntu.

Clix Trix: Thanks for a suggestion in the right direction. I have decided simply to keep my dual OS with Windows 7 and Linux Mint. When I boot Windows 7 in 2020, I shall simply disconnect from the internet and use it for local purposes, such as copying. That seems easier than searching for packages. I have plenty of hard drive space for both systems.
There are other programs easier to use on Windows 7 than to recreate on Mint. I do my system image backups using Windows Macrium Free on a recovery boot disc, for example. I think I shall manage well until my motherboard gives out. Desktop PCs are now so expensive that in the future, I may do without one. My tablet will keep me connected.
