Certain Wi-Fi network not available on Motorola Milestone with Cyanogenmod
I have a Motorola Milestone with Cyanogenmod 7.2.0. Phone is working without any problems. I was using this phone with my own Wi-Fi network. Something happened, and after that I’m not able to connect to Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi router should be fine (we use it with another Android phone and two notebooks without any problem). I made factory reset that didn’t solve the problem (after factory reset, I started to use it with different account, so it didn’t restore the Wi-Fi settings). The phone is able to search for Wi-Fi hotspots (it finds a neighbor’s Wi-Fi), but it doesn’t list my own Wi-Fi network. I can’t figure out the reason, I think it is not hardware related. Maybe I disabled to connect to this Wi-Fi accidentally, I don’t know. Is there a way to check the setting for a certain Wi-Fi, or at least can I reset full Wi-Fi settings?

There are two possibilities:
- If your WLAN is running in 2.4GHz mode you should chekc the used channel. Not all channels are allowed in all countries — especiall in the US the channels higher than 13 are AFAIK forbidden. Therefore some devices do not even scan the frequencies that belong to those channels. What frequencies/channels are used is specified by the driver/firmware — therefore using CM7 my be the problem. Try to cache your WLAN access point config to use a lower WLAN chennel.
- Your WLAN is running in 5GHz mode only. Only devices with 5GHz capable WLAN hardware can use a WLAn that is operating in 5GHz only mode. Unfortunately the number of smartphones that are 5GHz capable is very short. Therefore you should check your WLAN access point config if it is in 5GHz only mode and if so change it to dual frequency mode 2.4GHz + 5Ghz running at the same time.
Some WiFi access point select the channel automatically based on the surrounding WLANs. Therefore a wrong channel would be still possible.
Wireless connectivity issues with Cyanogenmod 7 on MyTouch 3G
To access certain features on your device, you may need to use secret codes such as the WiFi Mac Address Secret Code and the Bluetooth Test Code. Additionally, you can remove any unused networks by following the instructions provided in the link: https://support.google.com/android-one/answer/2819519. If you’re still experiencing issues, deleting all saved networks is the only remaining option that doesn’t require root access.
Cyanogenmod 7 mytouch 3g cannot connect to wireless
One week ago, I updated my device to cyanogenmod 7.0.3-slide. However, today I have noticed that my wireless (802.11G) has stopped working. The Wifi Analyzer displays «Nothing yet ;)» and restarting my device does not solve the issue. Can anyone suggest any solutions?
After deleting the saved networks, it began to function properly once more.
Hope this helps someone else.

Some secret codes not working after installing CyanogenMod
After installing CyanogenMod on my Galaxy SIII I9300, the device’s secret code displayed Mac Address. However, the *#232338# no longer works, unlike when the original stock ROM was installed. I’m curious if the secret code list varies between the two ROMs and if so, where can I find the updated list?
Certain «secret» codes can be accessed through concealed applications that are pre-installed by either the device manufacturer or the carrier within the device’s firmware. Upon transitioning to an alternative custom ROM like Cyanogenmod, those applications will no longer be available.
Despite your desire for a covert code, there are numerous ways to obtain the information you seek, whether it be from a preexisting menu option or a costless app that can be located on the Play Store.
To find the MAC addresses for both IPv4 and IPv6 in CyanogenMod 12, navigate to the Advanced WiFi option under the WiFi settings menu.
To access the relevant information via the command line, such as through adb, you can use either adb shell netcfg or adb shell ip addr show . These commands can also be executed via the Terminal app without the need for root access.
For those with outdated devices, attempting to utilize ifconfig -a or iwconfig -a may prove fruitful. Best of luck to you.

Force to use 3G and WiFi is on?
Is it possible to make Android prioritize 3G for all downloads even when WiFi is also available, by adjusting the device’s settings?
My primary motive for pursuing this goal is to exclusively connect to ADB via WiFi, without the need for USB.
My phone, the Nexus 4, is operating on Cyanogenmod 10.
It’s not possible or, at the very least, it’s complicated and requires a lot of effort. This is because Android automatically selects WiFi as the default option due to its general speed, reliability, and lack of data restrictions.
Consider checking out this application which enables you to download using both your WiFi and 3G simultaneously, although it mandates the use of rooted device.
According to t0mm13b’s suggestion (which I willingly accept), if you possess the required expertise and are truly committed to this, you can proceed.
Alter the source code by eliminating the conflicting flip/flop and also at the RIL level.
Regrettably, my qualifications aren’t adequate to provide assistance beyond directing you towards the Android Developer Page in case you opt to pursue this path.

How to reset Wi-Fi settings?
My phone’s Wi-Fi connection has stopped working but it is not a hardware problem because the connection works after a reset.
Which files should be removed for Wi-Fi to start working again without resetting my phone?
Assuming applicability, the device being utilized is the Sony Arc S with CM9.
I have experienced this issue multiple times, particularly when using an app like TitaniumBackup to backup/restore Wifi settings. To address this, I suggest beginning with the safest options.
- Initially, attempt accessing the wifi settings section to eliminate the troublesome network. Additionally, it would be wise to delete any other redundant networks present in that section. For more information, refer to the following link: https://support.google.com/android-one/answer/2819519, where you can learn how to modify, include or remove saved networks. To remove any network, select the «Remove» option.
- If none of the previous methods work, the sole alternative that doesn’t necessitate root access is to remove all of your saved networks.
- Disable your wifi to prevent the corrupted settings from being rewritten. Make sure to perform a backup before proceeding. In the editing process, access /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf and eliminate any networks that may cause problems.
- Assuming you have reached this point but are still encountering difficulties, try disabling your wifi and removing the
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
. Keep in mind that doing so will erase all your previously saved networks, but the file will be regenerated once you restart your wifi. - Deleting
/data/misc/wifi
is not advisable, but it can be considered as a final option. If you choose to do so, make sure you have a backup. Upon reboot, the folder will be recreated with default settings, and you will have to set up your networks once again.
By eliminating /data/etc/wifi , /data/misc/dhcp and /data/misc/wifi , the issue was resolved.
Wi fi — cyanogenmod 7 mytouch 3g cannot connect to, Upgraded to cyanogenmod 7.0.3-slide a week ago. Just today the wireless (802.11G) quit working. Wifi Analyzer just shows «Nothing yet ;)». Rebooting doesn’t seem to help. Any ideas?
Не работает WiFi на cyanogenmod 7.2. [huawei u8150 b]
