What is this? just before today I can play DBD, and now when I log in nomatter how many times, this error shows up, PLEASE HELP .

Did you try repairing Easy Anti-cheat?
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86) and delete the folder EasyAntiCheat
2. Next navigate to your Dead By Daylight’s EAC folder, located by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\EasyAntiCheat and run the file EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe as Admin
3. Make sure Dead By Daylight is selected (it should be automatically) and then click the Repair Service button and once it has completed you can close the setup program.
4. Try playing Dead By Daylight, making sure to run it from your steam library, not from a shortcut or by manually trying to start it

Reinstalling the game solved my problem, but I posted the same issue somewhere and they resolved the problem by fixing the game via properties > verify the integrity of file.

EVERYONE. delete the whole thing and just reinstall
i swear if this happens again for no frickin reason ill unistall and never play it again

Try deleting all of 3 these EAC folders located here:
C:\Program Files(x86)
C:\Users\UserNameGoesHere\AppData\Roaming
~Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight
Then clear Steam Cache (steam—>settings—>downloads—>clear download cache)
Open a command prompt as Admin and enter: netsh winsock reset
Then enter: ipconfig /flushdns
Then use Steam to verify game file integrity (steam—>library—>Dead By Daylight—>Properties—>local files—>Verify integrity of game files) so it replaces the EAC files.

This. Wine is seen as a cheat from anticheat software, and running dbd on a virtual machine is OUT of question, since virtual machines can’t use more than a certain pc power, last time i used it i cannot use more than 4 GB of ram and 256MB of video memory.
Those limitations are for «toy» desktop virtualization, enterprise-grade solutions does not have them and KVM is one of them. But performance is somewhat limited compared to native on the same hardware. yeah i don’t think someone would buy an enterprise-grade virtual machine only to play this game

yeah i don’t think someone would buy an enterprise-grade virtual machine only to play this game Qemu is shipped within distro’s package repositories, and KVM is built-in in to the kernel. As I noted above those pieces of software are rich and impressive.

Every time the game gets free weekend promo, I installing it, run, see error message like «EAC client cannot be instantiated» and uninstalling again. Maybe someday.

I have had DBD for almost three years. I am still waiting for a SteamOS/Ubuntu Release. I mostly play on Playstation for that reason. Surely if you guys can release it on mobile and Switch you can make a Linux version.
it’s not that simple, linux use some «workaround» to be able to play games, and that workaround (wine) isa problem because anticheat programs see it as a cheat, and then you get banned, i suggest you to watch some threads on the internet to see if it’s safe to use wine to play dbd

Reinstalling the game solved my problem, but I posted the same issue somewhere and they resolved the problem by fixing the game via properties > verify the integrity of file.

Try deleting all of 3 these EAC folders located here:
C:\Program Files(x86)
C:\Users\UserNameGoesHere\AppData\Roaming
~Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight
Then clear Steam Cache (steam—>settings—>downloads—>clear download cache)
