Well, since none of your host’s NICs are on the 192.168.23.x subnet, it’s not surprising that your guest has no connection.
Network connection mode of the guest’s ethernet adapter? (bridged/host-only/nat/custom) If bridged, have you disabled automatic bridging and specified which physical NIC to bridge the VMnet0 switch to?

Check if your virtual NIC is still NAT/VMnet8. As you use a static IP you might not notice if this has changed.

I am new to VMware and have created few virtual machines using VMware version 6.5.3 on Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit, I was under the impression that all the VMs are going to talk with each other but for some reason it is not happening. I can not ping from one VM to another, even I can not ping any host that I create on Windows. I am using Windows Vista Ultimate. I have two VMs of Linux Enterprise 5 and I can not ping those also from each other. I called VMware support and they advised me to install updates of VMware and it did not make any difference. One of my friend told me that make network device bridged and then I would be able to ping from one VM to another, I did it and after this it did not work also. At this point I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I did some google search and could not find any specific help on this topic. I think, it must be a very common problem, if I am having this, there must be other folks who were having this too. Can some one guide/help me on to how can I fix this? I believe the real value of VMware is when all VMs talk to each other and I can ping different VMs. Look forward to a response from community.
Thanks and appreciate your response,
