I can confirm that the solution from pcgamingwiki works, now playing DOSEE.

On fedora you’ll need libGL sources for the shim to compile (and you can ignore the first line on the pcgamingwiki trick):
sudo dnf install mesa-libGL-devel

Ensure you have installed gcc and the headers for libc and OpenGL (on Debian and Debian-derived distributions you should install build-essential and libgl1-mesa-dev).

Compile the shim from the command line with gcc -s -O3 -shared -fPIC -o shim.so -ldl shim.c

Set the game’s launch options in Steam to allow_glsl_extension_directive_midshader=true LD_PRELOAD=»/path/to/shim.so» %command%

Fwiw , Mesa users ( AMD and Intel ) don’t have to do this hack anymore.

Needed extension is implemented.

Just using an up to date Mesa version is sufficient.

Just using an up to date Mesa version is sufficient.

having updated mesa drivers (updated a few days ago) and it doesnt launch.

Add this ppa to your system to get Mesa 20 update.

Ubuntu 18.04 based distros do not ship Mesa 20 by default.

I don’t know if this is anybody else’s case but I’ll leave this here just in case.

I’m on manjaro, nvidia card with proprietary drivers.

On steam, pressing the play button didn’t have any effect at all. No window popped up, no error message, nothing.
By running runner.sh from the game folder I was able to play the game just fine.
Only problem was not getting achievements nor playtime logged on steam, which is easily solvable by running echo 373420 > steam_appid.txt in your original sin install folder. Now everything works as intended.
Still, the play button on steam doesn’t always work, but runner.sh never fails.

No bumblebee, thanks anyway. The game works fine, I just have to launch the runner script manually but then it works just like as I ran it from steam. Don’t really know why as I believe that steam is trying to run that very same script but whatever.
