Драйвер для creative linux

I bought a Creative SoundBlaster AE-9 and got it the other day. I’m awaiting headphones so that I can get quality audio and still not annoy everyone in the residence I reside in. I used this on Windows, and it works pretty darn well. I’m not at all sad with my purchase when I’m using Windows.

I understood that when purchasing this product, no official Linux drivers were available from Creative. I assumed that this meant that, likely there would have been some open source hero who went through and made it available for outputting basic audio.

However, when I went to check my Linux boot on my machine, I was surprised to find that after scouring the Google, there’s really nowhere (at least that I can find) that shows any driver — third party or not — that makes basic audio playable through the sound card.

I mean, I entirely understand that no flashy feature-rich application that lets me control every singe device parameter would be available. Linux gets support last, always, and I understand the complexities of introducing hardware-interfacing software for Linux.

I saw a post here where a Creative employee had mentioned that they are waiting for Linux to become more commercially viable. I don’t think Linux is not commercially viable enough to ignore basic support for its device, especially one so expensive (albeit a really cool device!).

I know you all work very hard, but is it possible to put some work into making this product just kind of work on Linux? I mean, basic audio would be terrific. I understand, all I have to do is flip a 3.5mm jack on my PC and use my sound card on-chip, but it would be really nice to not have do that.

Still, cool product. It looks very promising and I am anticipating using it more.

X-Fi Creative

Я так понимаю в линуксе имеются драйверы для поддержки фич звуковых карт X-Fi Creative? Есть ли готовый дистр, в котором такая поддержка включена?

вроде в последних дровах уже есть поддержка оной(день два назад дрова вышли), жди месяц или два и будет тебе дистр с поддержкой)

Пока нет никакой поддержки. Creative обещало в этом году бинарные ядрёные модули для альсы.

May 18, 2006 — Creative plans to make proprietary (closed source) drivers available for the X-Fi series of sound cards in the second quarter of 2007. These drivers will have full support for ALSA (playback, recording, mixer, MIDI, synthesis) and OpenAL 1.1 (with EAX effects).

И вообще, зачем быдло-EAX? Классическое стерео — труЪ!

Интересно, кто тогда в здравом уме ставит себе линукс, если нормальный звук в нем просто не поддерживается. (риторический вопрос, на него отвечать не надо) Не называть же нормальным звуком устаревший еще в 1999году SB Live!?

в линуксе заменой еаксу явлдяется ОпенАЛ) (в последней АЛсе в дрове сa0106 написсанно — добавилась поддержка иксфай)

Этот X-Fi — нормальный звук. Этот высер маркетологов? Меньше смотрите рекламу! 🙂

И берите что-нибудь более вменяемое, типа ESI Juli@, M-Audio audiophile, теже E-MU и т.п.

Этот X-FI — нормальный звук. Лучше только действительно профессиональные карты за полторы штуки.

Все эти карты — аналалоги встроенного звука на материнках. Банальный развод на деньги. Хи-хи.

> Этот X-FI — нормальный звук. Нет. Это не нормальный звук 🙂 Зачем портить звук супер-пупер быдлопроцессором от Creative. Нужна простая плата с качественной аналоговой частью. Лучше чтоб эта часть была во внешнем исполнении. Типа m-audio delta 1010.

Максимум, что ставят на материнки — ca0106 (под видом аудиги лс). Чаще — быдлокодеки 10.2-канальные со встроенным цап’ом и половиной нераспаянных деталей обвязки.

Компания Creative Labs выпустила 32/64-х битный Linux-драйвер для последнего поколения своих звуковых карт. Это бета-драйвер и Creative Labs настоятельно рекомендует устанавливать его только опытным пользователям. Поддерживаются воспроизведение и запись звука (через ALSA) на следующих звуковых картах:

* Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro
* Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum
* Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty
* Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
* Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic

В отличие от предыдущих релизов, драйвер должен собираться gcc4 и работать и на 32-х и на 64-x битных системах.

там нада вроде тока разархивировать а потом ./install написать в разархивированной папке

но у меня он виснет на Makefile.conf

В терминале:
1) Для установки, у Вас в системе должны присутствовать исходные коды ядра (неполная версия может быть непригодна)
2)Запустите одну из этих команд в терминале под рутом:
./installer
или
./installer —with-alsainc= Примечания:
Для ядер ветки 2.6 указываете путь к ALSA в том случае, если она установлена в нестандартной директории
Для ядер ветки 2.4 путь надо указывать обязательно (узнать версию ядра можно командой uname -r)
