EpsonNet Print is utility software that provides printing that does not require a dedicated server for printing using a TCP/IP network (peer to peer printing). Normally when printing via a network with a Win 9x OS, a server (such as Windows NT Server, Novell Netware etc.) is required to manage the print queue in the network environment. However, by installing this software on the user PC, this restriction is eliminated. Since 1997 EPSON has made available similar functions with the TCP/IP direct printing function in EPSON Printer Window! 2 (overseas name: EPSON Status Monitor 2) and EpsonNet Direct Print, however this software is now positioned as the successor to these peer to peer printing tools (EPSON standard network printing tool), and it has the following features.

Epson L800 — это уникальное 6-цветное устройство со встроенными большими ёмкостями для чернил, специально созданное для тех, кому необходима экономичная печать фотографий и СD/DVD дисков – для фотосалонов, фотолабораторий, частных фотографов, которые работают на дому, и многих других бизнес-пользователей. Принтер в общем-то действительно уникальный, так как имеет заводскую систему непрерывной подачи чернил. На сколько мне известно, сейчас только компания Epson предлагает подобные устройства. Приступим к установке.
Открываем специальную страницу официального сайта Epson с дрйверами для Linux -> Принимаем лицензионное соглашение -> Выбираем один из .deb пакетов в зависимости от разрядности Ubuntu (в моём случаем x64, следовательно загружаем «epson-inkjet-printer-l800_1.0.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb») -> Открываем двойным щелчком мыши только что скачанный файл и устанавливаем пакет.
Открываем «Параметры системы» -> Принтеры -> Добавить -> Выбираем наш принтер Epson L800 -> Система найдёт автоматически нужный драйвер. Можем изменить имя принтера и жмём «Применить» -> Далее можем напечатать пробную страницу и убедиться, что наш принтер прекрасно функционирует.
Кроме этого, могу заметить, что можно обойтись и без установки .deb пакета с сайта разработчика. В этом случаем после выбора L800 Ubuntu не найдёт драйвер и попросит выбрать его из списка. Выбираем соответственно Epson -> Stylus T50. Хоть драйвер и от другой модели, но принтер вполне себе печатает, правда некотрых функций в настройках нет.
