How To Know Wi-Fi Password Using CMD

You may be using many WiFi connections through your desktop or laptop. Sometimes, a situation arises, where you may forget the connected Wifi network password.

First of all, you should remember that whenever you connect to a WiFi network and enter the password to connect to that network, you are actually making a new WLAN profile of that WiFi network.

In essence, every time you make an Internet connection, that particular profile gets stored inside the PC/laptop along with the other required details of the WiFi profile.

In this article, we will be learning how to find a particular Wi-Fi password using the command prompt instead of a Windows GUI.

These steps work even when you are totally offline or you are not connected to the particular WI-Fi profile you are looking the password for.

How to know the WiFi password using cmd using netsh wlan show profiles

• Open the command prompt and run it as administrator. One of the first things to do is to open the command prompt in administrator mode. In older Windows 7/8.1 run PC/Laptops right click on command prompt and choose Run as administrator from the drop-down menu

In Windows 10 run PC/laptops simple click Windows Key + X and run Command Prompt (Admin) directly.

• In the next step, we want to know about all the profiles that are stored on our computer. For that type following command in the cmd:

netsh wlan show profile

This command will list out all the WiFi profiles that your PC/laptop has ever connected to.

From the above list, I want to find out the password for NETGEAR13 Type the following command to see the password of NETGEAR13 or any other Wi-Fi profile you want.

netsh wlan show profile WiFi-name key=clear

The result will be something like this

Under the key content in security settings, you can see the password. You can use the same command to check and find out the password for each and every profile saved on your PC/laptop.

Turn On Mac Randomization On Windows 10 using CMD

The Command-Line is also useful for further experimentation with WiFi profiles. Besides finding out the Wi-Fi password, you can also use this result to further optimize your WiFi.

For example, Under the profile information, you can see mac randomization is disabled. You can turn on the mac randomization feature to avoid your location tracking based on the device’s MAC address.

Here is how to turn on mac randomization on Windows 10:

• Go to settings and click on ‘Network & internet’
• Choose the ‘WiFi’ in the left pane and click on the advanced option.
• Turn on the ‘Random Hardware Address’ feature under these settings.

• Once you have turned this on, your MAC address will be randomly set by Windows making it difficult for anybody to track you using your MAC address.

Причем, смотреть пароль от Wi-Fi мы будем через командную строку. С помощью этого способа можно узнать пароль от любой Wi-Fi сети, к которой раньше подключался ваш компьютер, или ноутбук.

В этих статьях я описывал способ, с помощью которого можно посмотреть забытый пароль через «Управление беспроводными сетями» в самой системе, или с помощью специальной программы. Но иногда бывает такое, что самого пункта «Управление беспроводными сетями» нет в Windows. И в такой ситуации можно попробовать посмотреть пароль с помощью специальной команды, через командную строку.

Вообще, тема эта очень популярная. Очень часто, в процессе настройки маршрутизатора, меняют пароль от Wi-Fi сети, и не записывают его. Настроили, подключили несколько устройств, и успешно забыли пароль. И тут нужно подключить новый телефон, планшет, компьютер и т. д., а пароль от Wi-Fi не вспомнить. И если у вас есть хоть один компьютер, который подключен к вашей беспроводной сети, или был подключен раньше, то ключ можно найти, он сохраняется в системе. Можно, конечно, посмотреть пароль в настройках роутера, но этот способ более сложный.

Данный способ работает во всех версиях Windows, начиная с «семерки», и заканчивая «десяткой». А может в XP тоже работает. Не знаю, не проверял.

Как посмотреть ключ Wi-Fi сети через командную строку

Для начала нам нужно запустить командную строку. Нажимаем сочетание клавиш Win + R, вводим cmd, и нажимаем Ok. В Windows 10 можете нажать правой кнопкой мыши на меню Пуск и выбрать «Командная строка».

Дальше, в командной строке нужно выполнить команду netsh wlan show profiles. Она выводит список всех Wi-Fi сетей, информация о которых сохранена на компьютере, и пароль от которых мы можем узнать.

Чтобы узнать пароль от нужной нам Wi-Fi сети, нужно название сети подставить в команду:

netsh wlan show profiles name= имя_wifi_сети key=clear

И выполнить ее в командной строке. В моем случае, команда выглядит так:

netsh wlan show profiles name= TP-LINK_9ED6 key=clear

В строке «Содержимое ключа» будет указан пароль от данной беспроводной сети.

Вот собственно и все. Теперь вы знаете, как с помощью двух команд, можно получить информацию о Wi-Fi сетях, к которым когда-то подключался ваш ноутбук, или ПК. В том числе, пароль от этих сетей.

спасибо вам огромное вы натолкнули меня на мысоль другой своей статьёй и я зашол на сайт тп линк и вёл admin1 и получилось я узнал пароль спаибо ещё раз.

Служба автонастройки беспроводной сети (wlansvc) не запущена. =/

Но если на этом компьютере нет Wi-Fi, или он раньше не подключался к данной Wi-Fi сети, то посмотреть пароль данным способом не получится.

Могу предположить, что пароль вы смотрели для сохраненной сети, к которой подключались раньше. Windows сохраняет пароль на момент подключения. Но пароль уже могли сменить в настройках роутера.

How To Find Wi-Fi Password Using CMD Of All Connected Networks?

Run these CMD commands below to find saved WiFi passwords.

I t is very easy to find WiFi passwords in Windows 10 using a few CMD commands. These commands work even when you are offline, or you are connected to some other WiFi network.

Whenever we connect to a WiFi network and enter the password to connect to that network, we actually make a WLAN profile of that WiFi network. That profile is stored inside our computer, along with the other required details of the WiFi profile.

Using the commands, we can further optimize our particular WiFi network, like turning on some features such as mac randomization, changing the radio type of your WiFi, etc.

In case, you can’t remember the password of your wireless network, one way is to access the same via your router’s settings. But Because browsing through router settings can be quite a task sometimes. So, instead of using a GUI to find the individual passwords, we can also look for the WiFi password of that particular WiFi network using CMD.

How to find WiFi password on Windows 10 using CMD?

1. Open the command prompt and run it as administrator.
   
2. In the next step, we want to know about all the profiles that are stored on our computer. So, type the following command in the cmd:
   netsh wlan show profile
3. This command will list out all the WiFi profiles that you have ever connected to.
   
4. In the above picture, I have intentionally blurred some of my WiFi network names. As you can see, there are eight WiFi networks that I connect to. So, let’s go and find out the password for the WiFi ‘NETGEAR50’ in this case, which I created intentionally for this article.
5. Type the following command to see the password of any WiFi network:
   netsh wlan show profile WiFi-name key=clear
   The command will be like:
   netsh wlan show profile NETGEAR50 key=clear
   
6. Under the security settings, in the ‘key content’, you see the WiFi password of that particular network.

Besides knowing the Windows 10 WiFi password, you can also use this result to optimize your WiFi further. For example, Under the profile information, you can see mac randomization is disabled. Turn On MAC Randomization On Windows 10

Every device has its own MAC address. MAC randomization hides the original MAC address of a device and conceals your device’s identity thereby ensuring your privacy by not letting hackers track you on public networks.

1. Go to Settings and click on ‘Network & Internet’
2. Choose the ‘WiFi’ in the left pane and click on the Advanced option.
   
3. Turn on the ‘Random Hardware Address’ feature under the settings. If your wireless hardware does not support this feature, the “Random Hardware Addresses” section will not show up at all in the settings app.
4. Once you have turned this on, you are done.

Also, under the connectivity settings, in radio type, you can see the whole list. Channel interference could be another reason for slow WiFi. So, next time, you might also like to change the radio type settings for better speeds.

How To Find Wi-Fi Password Through LAN Using CMD

Here’s how you can find the Wi-Fi password through LAN using the Windows command line.

1. Fire up the Command Prompt.

2. Copy and paste the following command and hit enter.

mode con lines=60 netsh wlan show profile name="LAN Name" key=clear

Rename “LAN Name” to your LAN’s name and hit enter. This works for both Wi-Fi and LAN.

3. You can find the password in the “Security settings” section.

How to Check Wi-Fi Passwords of all devices at once

To check the Wi-Fi passwords of all the devices that you ever connected to your computer, copy and paste the following command in the terminal and hit enter.
