Step # 1 : Switch on WiFi adapter on your phone.
Step # 2 : Go to ‘About Phone’ from Settings and note your phone’s Wi-Fi MAC Address mentioned there. It should lok like xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (xx = value of Mac Add.)
Step # 3 : Switch off WiFi adapter on your phone
Step # 5 : Launch ‘Total Commander’ application on your phone and navigate to File system root/data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB and copy one file named ‘WIFI’ from there to the SD Card of your phone
Step # 6 : Copy this file i.e. WIFI from your SD card to Desktop on your laptop/desktop
Step # 7 : Launch ‘HxD-Hexeditor’ on your laptop/desktop and click on OPEN or Ctrl+O and select WIFI file (copied as per Step # 6) from desktop
Step # 8 : Refer to the first raw in the opened file and go to column no. 04
Step # 9 : Insert value of your actual MAC Address (as per Step # 2) in column 04 to 09 (Ensure that none of the value is ZERO) and SAVE this change
Step # 10 : Close Hexeditor and copy changed WIFI file from your desktop to the SD card of your phone. Delete older WIFI file from SD Card before copying this file.
Step # 11 : Once the file is copied to SD card, launch Total Commander application and move this file from SD card root to File system root/data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB
Step # 12 : Reboot your phone

Voillaaaa! Your phone’s WiFi NVRAM Error is gone now. Yes, you solved it.

Недавно делал Lenovo S660 — везде способ только временной правки. Заливав nvram.img донорский — ничего не помогло.

How to fix NVRAM error in all MediaTek devices

Hi, Now we are talking on NVRAM error in Mediatek devices. This is WiFi related issue and it shows “NVRAM WARNING err 0x10 and NVRAM WARNING err = 0x02” massage in the notification-bar. First of all we know that What is NVRAM error and why is it come in our smartphones and MTK devices. When we are updating Mediatek devices (Micromax, Gionee, Spice etc.) by SP Tool then SP flash Tool gives two option first firmware upgrade , second Format all + Download or Download only Rom. Firmware upgrade is safe option for update our phone but The most of Smartphone user want to install a fresh Rom, So they have to choose second option Format all + Download Rom. Some time when you are using this process you may be lost IMEI number and get NV RAM error in your Smartphone. In this case you should know, How to resolve NVRAM error? So here is the solution of this NVRAM error NVRAM WARNING err 0x10 and NVRAM WARNING err = 0x02. As well as you should fix lost IMEI number issue. We are trying to make it easy, firstly we need a rooted phone if your phone is not rooted then find your root guide and root your phone or device.

How to Fix NVRAM Error by flash able zip:

How to resolve NVRAM Error manually:

Step 1: First of all you need to install Root Explorer App or Root Browser App from Google play store on your device and download NVRAM Fix zip and extract it and also copy this NVRAM folder on the your phone SD Card. Step 2: Open Root Explorer App and give it SU permission (see in image 1). We will see root directory and find here Data folder and tap on it for go inside. Now we will scroll and find nvram folder tap on it. Here we will see first folder is APCFG, in this folder we will find APRDEB folder. APRDEB folder have two WIFI file, first WIFI and second WIFI_CUSTOM (see in image 2), here we need to delete both file (see in image 3). Step 3: Here we have done half process. Now we need to go on SD card and copy both file from NVRAM folder (see in image 4). Now we will go root directory and data folder then APCFG folder and open APRDEB folder and past both file here (see in image 5). After copy these files, we will select both file for giving permission and tap on setting/menu icon then select permissions option (see in image 6). Now we will see popup of permission tab, see in image 7 and give permission then tap on OK. It’s done, we fixed your NVRAM error, now reboot your phone. If your confirmed that your NVRAM error fix then first you should take a backup of your phone or device then after enjoy WiFi. This guide will explain how to fix WiFi NVRAM WARNING: ERR 0x10 on a Mediatek Android device. This error usually comes up after wiping the NVRAM partition.

Steps to fix WiFi NVRAM WARNING: ERR 0x10

Method 1: Miracle Box (newer MTK chipsets)

Method 2: APRDEB edit (older MTK chipsets)

Requirements

• The phone must be rooted
• Install ROM toolbox lite on the phone
• A PC
• Download and Install HxD Hexeditor @ http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Hx. 77923.html on the PC

1. Switch on the WiFi on your phone.

If the above exercise fails try this:

Change the PERMISSIONS to READ ONLY.

After many attempts where the MAC address would change after WIFI start & the NVRAM error reappearing the simple detail I missed was changing the permissions to Read Only.

BTW: Changing the permissions is simple when after you edit the WIFI File as described above using your Hex Editor of choice on your PC, save the file (allow over-write), RIGHT CLICK — select PROPERTIES — look at the bottom of the properties window — select the READ ONLY box & hit APPLY.

As demonstrated above — Copy the edited WIFI file to your SD card or to your phone’s internal memory (where you can find it) and replace the WIFI file in the APRDEB Folder as shown above.

Fixing “NVRAM WARNING: Err=0x10” All MTK

Here is how you can fix this WiFi NVRAM WARNING error in Mediatek processor based Android devices (Note: The Android device must be rooted so that you can make changes to system. If your device is not rooted, you can try the Kingo Root for easily rooting your Android device):

1. Open Android Settings, scroll down to the very bottom and touch About Phone or About Tabletfollowed by Status. From the Status screen, note down the WiFi MAC address – write it down on a piece of paper. For example in the following screen shot the WiFi MAC address is 00:08:22:3e:5a:08.
2. Turn off WiFi in your Android device.
3. Install ES File Explorer in Android from Google Playstore. Launch ES File Explorer, touch menu button in Android and enable Root Explorer. Now open the folder Device/data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB/and locate a file named WIFI. Copy this file to external SD card. Connect your device to a Windows PC, copy the WIFI file from external SD card to somwhere on your Windows PC.
4. Download WinHex on your Windows PC, extract the downloaded ZIP to a folder and launch WinHex.exe. Open the WIFI file that you copied to your PC.
5. In WIFI file opened in WinHex, type the MAC address that you noted down in the step1, in the first line and between column 4 and 9, the MAC address without using the colons (:). Our MAC address in step 1 was 00:08:22:3e:5a:08 so we typed 0008223E5A08. Save the WIFI file in WinHex and copy it back to your Android device.
6. Once again launch ES File Explorer in Android and copy the newly changed WIFI file in the folder Device/data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB/. If you receive the overwriting warning then choose to overwrite. Select the newly copied WIFI file, touch on the More and select Properties. Change the file permissions to RW- RW- — as shown.
7. Turn on WiFi in your Android device. Now you won’t be able to see the “NVRAM WARNING: Err=0x10” anymore.

Conclusion: Poorly configured NVRAM data can cause some of the Mediatek bases Android smart phones to display an “NVRAM WARNING: Err=0x10” entry in the WiFi connections list. This can be easily fixed by making changes to the WiFi files inside the NVRAM.
