I have an issue with getting Bluetooth to work under Windows 10. Due to a hard drive failure I Installed windows 10 from scratch and the module does not show up under the device manager and Windows troubleshooting routine tells me there is no Bluetooth module installed in the computer and I would need to connect an external one. I found another thread on the topic in this forum (but was unable to add my question there, not sure why). In this other Thread Paul_Tikkanen suggested booting from a Ubuntu USB stick. I tried this and indeed under Ubuntu the Bluetooth module shows up and I can connect it to my headphones without any issues. However when rebooting to Windows the device is still nowhere to find and Bluetooth does not work. Any ideas how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advcance!

So I’m trying to connect a Bluetooth headset to my PC but I’m not finding any indication that Bluetooth is available. However, the specs indicate that this laptop is supposed to have integraded WLAN/Bluetooth card.

Device manager shows the Intel Centrino Advanced N 6235 which is a Bluetooth enabled card.

I have updated the device drivers for anything Intel and still, I’m not seeing any Bluetooth settings on this laptop.

Please help, I’m completely stumped.

See if you can turn on the BT by using the HP Connection Manager software.

It should have come installed from the factory but if not, install it, restart the PC and use the software to turn on the BT.

Paul, I think that did the trick. I installed the Connection Manager and turned on BT. It turned on, said it was disabled in Device Manager and the immediate started installing the device drivers.

Now, in Device Manager I am seeing Bluetooth Radios as well as Bluetooth Device under Network Adapters.

I would have never figured out that I needed to use HP Connection Manager to turn Bluetooth on/off. It was enabled in the Advanced tab of the adapter settings, it was turned on in the BIOS.

If you don’t want to use that software, you can uninstall it now that you have the BT radio turned on.

Folks use the Connection Manager software to turn on or off networking devices to save battery power.

I doubt it makes a big difference but every little bit helps, I guess.

If that isn’t a big deal to you, then you don’t need the software.

And if you plan to upgrade to W10, it is essential to make sure all of your networking devices are turned on and active.

Then uninstall the Connection Manager software, restart the PC and verify all networking devices are still turned on.

If you upgrade to W10 with the Connection Manager installed and any networking device turned off, it will remain off forever until you reinstall W7 and reinstall the connection manager software.

The connection manager software does not work in W10.

i am trying to get a microsoft arc touch mouse to work on my HP EliteBook Folio 9470m i have re-installed the ntel PROSET Bluetooth driver service pack sp61660.exe driver as per your above suggestion but still cannot get the devise to pair/work. is there another driver i should install instead?

I have updated bios to latest, ran softpaq — downloaded driver from HP site. Drivers says it is installed properly. However it can not see the MS designer keyboard /mouse. Our other laptop 9480m works fine with windows 8.1 pro

driver on HP site is old. ( 8 Aug 2012 ) for intel Pro

Hi I finally fixed this problem after 2 years of giving up.

I did all the downloads and fixes suggested

I am not an expert but I believe it’s a combination of manay problems at is related to many headsets and phones

This is what I did to fix

1. Uninstalled the ! devices in device manager

2. installed the device drivers sp60802 and sp 61660

3. Go to Bluetooth devices button in the task bar and right click and go to «Show Bluetooth devices»

4. RightClick on mobile Phone and selt properties

4. Go to services tab and ensure all boxes are unchecked

5. Right click device again and then select «Remove device»

6. Restart laptop (stop here is you do not wish to add a device)

8. ensure the laptop is removed from other device (e.g. iPhone) (settings/bluetooth.seklect laptop name and «forget this device»)

9. Back to the laptop . Go to Bluetooth devices button in the task bar and right click and go to «Show Bluetooth devices»

Problem solved, of course the key is knowing how this problem happened in the first place. This worked for me and I have tried it multiple times. Good luck and lety me know how you go please
