I know Genshin impact «isn’t supported» on Linux, but Linux gamers have been playing unsupported games for many years and Genshin Impact is no exception to this. A few weeks ago some users on playonlinux discovered a hack to disable the anti-cheat by changing about a few instructions in the UnityPlayer.dll. This worked for some time but then miHoYo got wise to the trick and started integrity checking the files while loading the game bricking us all from the game with error code 31-4302.

Many of you may be saying to just use windows. The problem with this is simply most of us don’t want to, it’d be like asking you to use a mac. or possibly «why don’t you play on your phone» well, i do I’d just rather not

some of you may have wondered why «isn’t supported» is in quotation marks this is because android is Linux the game can run on android. not only this but unity also supports compiling to for a Linux target the only obstacle then is anti-cheat — i am not a kernel programmer nor am i a game developer but i understand how intricate these things can be and can understand that miHoYo creating an anti-cheat specifically for Linux is out of the question but i hope that this post can at least get this topic some attention, I’m sure there are some kernel devs open to the idea especially if it opens many games to the Linux market

Установите Лутрис в Linux

Lutris — это бесплатная игровая платформа с открытым исходным кодом для Linux. Он обеспечивает установку одним щелчком мыши игр, доступных на его веб-сайте, а также интегрируется с веб-сайтом Steam.

Установите Lutris на Ubuntu/LinuxMint/Pop!_OS

Установите Genshin Impact в Linux

После установки игрового менеджера Lutris в вашей системе. Откройте браузер и перейдите на официальный сайт lutris и нажмите «Установить», как показано на изображении ниже.

Далее вы увидите всплывающее окно, нажав на Открытая ссылка это откроет приложение с Lutris, как вы можете видеть на изображении ниже. Здесь нажмите на Установить.

В следующем окне вам будет предложено Выберите каталог для установки вы можете просмотреть и выбрать каталог после выбора нажмите на Установить.

Это может попросить вас загрузить некоторые файлы каждый раз, когда вы нажимаете на Продолжить чтобы скачать эти файлы.

После завершения загрузки этих файлов появится сообщение о принятии лицензионного соглашения и установке Genshin Impact. Нажмите на установить сейчас как показано на изображении ниже.

После завершения установки вы можете нажать Run чтобы начать игру.

Genshin Impact

This script uses a patch that is not supported by MiHoYo, USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
You will need root rights to install this patch as it will modify /etc/hosts system file.
You will need to find, edit, and run the patch manually — outside of Lutris — after the game update has finished.
PATCH IS NOT APPLIED BY DEFAULT. To apply or revert it, right-click on the game icon/banner and select «execute script» —> https://imgur.com/D4jDdPX
This script installer needs xdelta3, xterm, zenity binaries.
If the install freezes during download, kill the «launcher.exe» process. Then launch the game from Lutris and choose option 2 in the menu «Update Genshin Impact». Once downloading and installing are completed, close the game, patch the game, start the game and choose option 1 in the menu.

As of 4/17/2023 Genshin Impact works on clean installation without any workarounds required. This installer exists for that purpose.

You already installed Genshin Impact with Lutris and just need to update your current install with latest patch.

Please follow this steps:
1) execute this script, it will install updated patch
2) update Genshin Impact to latest version (option 2) but do not launch it
3) apply new patch
