google chrome not working [solved]

I know there is another «google chrome not working» topic. But it is not the solution I need for my problem so I opened a new one.
My google chrome worked perfect, but I got an update order.
So I downloaded a newer version from google chrome website itself and installed it.
Now google chrome isn’t opening at all.
I tried to re-install it, not working. Deleted it al, re-installed it, still not working.
Tried other versions (non stable, stable, beta) not working.
I deleted all the versions but the chrome apps I used are still on the laptop.

1. Any solutions for the google chrome to start working again.
2. if there is not a good solution, how can I get rid of the apps

Here we go, thanks. I’m installing updates through Update Manager right now, will take a min. I’ll post if it works or not.

From one prob to another.
Tried to update everything in linux mint. But I get several errors.
errors like : packages are many times configured in «/etc/apt/sources.list.d»
wich is pritty bizar, after my linux installation, the only thing i installed is google chrome and one try to install runescape.

So when I am not able to update everything in linux mint in order to update the google chrome I think I need to start all over again??

Is your Google Chrome working now? There is another really nice browser based on Chrome (Chromium) called «SlimJet» that you might try as well.

The update messages you are getting mean that because you tried numerous methods of installing something that you duplicated software sources, and the system wants you to correct them.

Run the command below and post the results please.

Ok. If it were me, I would purge (remove completely) Google Chrome and Remove all the software sources for google Chrome, then install the Google Chrome stable form their website, download the «.deb» file which you just save somewhere and double click to install it.

sudo apt purge google-chrome*

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome-beta.list

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome-unstable.list

After Installing Google Chrome, run these commands from the console terminal prompt before running Google Chrome.

yes, the best thing to do is as says phd21, remove all ppa and purge chrome and reinstall google-chrome-stable from .deb and this add also the ppa

you can remove all the chrome ppa with just one command

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome*

sudo apt purge google-chrome*
with this command i purged chrome
the rm commands where not needed, they were already of the list
then i used sudo apt update, reinstalled chrome, still didnt work
but then i updated the whole system with the update manager and now it is working
so I used a trick or two from everybody

Невозможно запустить Chrome — Ubuntu

При запуске Chrome на новой установке происходит сбой. Мы получаем эту ошибку (при запуске из командной строки):

$ google-chrome [7251:7251:0123/174646:ERROR:logging.h(808)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.DBus.ObjectManager.GetManagedObjects: object_path= /: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "GetManagedObjects" with signature "" on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.ObjectManager" doesn't exist [7251:7251:0123/174647:ERROR:logging.h(808)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.DBus.ObjectManager.GetManagedObjects: object_path= /: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "GetManagedObjects" with signature "" on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.ObjectManager" doesn't exist Illegal instruction (core dumped)

Я использую Ubuntu 14.04 LTS x64.

Удалите все это и перезапустите, для одного. Далее вы скачали файл с главной страницы?

Если это так, убедитесь, что вы скачали правильную версию. Мой файл называется google-chrome-stable-current-amd64.deb

Если в вашей Ubuntu был установлен шрифт Adobe ‘source-han-serif’, попробуйте удалить его и

$ fc-cache -f -v

тогда вы можете запустить Chrome успешно.

Иногда определенный пакет не поддерживается нашей системой, но мы все равно хотели бы его установить:

sudo snap install chromium

sudo apt update sudo apt install chromium-browser 

И, по крайней мере, попробуйте с Центром программного обеспечения Ubuntu.

Предполагая, что вы используете последнюю версию Ubuntu, потому что здесь нельзя спрашивать UbuntuAsk об устаревших версиях Ubuntu.

У меня были похожие проблемы. Если у вас есть Chrome синхронизируется с облаком, попробуйте сделать резервную копию ~/.config/google-chrome/ каталог, а затем удалить его.

Как началась моя проблема:

Я открыл crashsafari (ОТКАЗ ОТ ОТВЕТСТВЕННОСТИ: НЕ ОТКРЫВАЙТЕ ЭТОТ САЙТ) по невежеству. Мой компьютер завис из-за чрезмерного количества запросов памяти. У меня 16 ГБ ОЗУ и 18 ГБ подкачки с жесткими дисками 2×2 ТБ. Я просто ждал и убил все процессы Chrome. Выключил swap и снова включил его (чтобы ускорить мои программы). Так как убивал хром, я не смог его правильно использовать. Это может произойти сбой в течение 5 секунд после запуска.

Что я пробовал:

1. Переустановка хрома несколько раз.
2. Редактирование ~/.config/google-chrome/Default/Preferences файл и все изменил «state»:1 в «state»:0 ,
3. Принудительное отключение расширений / плагинов при запуске с подробным ведением журнала с использованием следующей командной строки:
   google-chrome-stable —disable-extensions —disable-plugins —enable-logging=stderr —v=1

Каждый раз я получаю сообщение об ошибке вроде этого (не публикуя полный журнал):

[14408:14434:0130/030351:FATAL:memory_linux.cc(43)] Out of memory. 

Что я наконец-то сделал:

Пришел к выводу, что проблема была из-за поврежденного файла в ~/.config/google-chrome , Сделал резервную копию этого каталога и удалил его. Теперь мой хром работает как шарм. Перезагружен для синхронизации для работы. Закладки, история, пароли, расширения и т. Д. Были синхронизированы идеально. Я потерял вошедшие сеансы, но для меня это не имеет большого значения: D
