The installation of this package fails, when you have the binary version already installed. Please add conflict with heroic-games-launcher-bin.

@flaviofearn I’m just another user as far as this package goes, and it doesn’t bother me to have these three packages as options because their differences are well explained. But, it’s is even better to know that you are the dev for that awesome software. You might just comment on the -bin package to let the world know that you are the the dev/maintainer for that one. (Having alternatives is a compliment because it means you’re a thing that’s sought after.)

@flaviofearn Hiya, Having multiple versions on the AUR is fine, as long as they’re named correctly, and as this one already is, it makes sense to keep it up!

Some users may wish to compile locally, so that they can be sure that the software they are running is indeed the one from the codebase they expect, so for those users, a regular AUR entry is made For those who wish to have the latest and greatest at all times, -git is made, and for those who are fine with downloading a precompiled binary from the developer, a -bin is made.

Hey, I am the developer of Heroic Games launcher and there is already a package here on AUR called heroic-games-launcher-bin, looking at the source of this one, it is not different from the official one. Because even if you compile Heroic on your machine, it makes no difference since it is an Electron App and is not optimized for the operating system. So I believe it will be confusing to the users if we have both packages. So can you please remove this one?

change ln -s «/opt/heroic/heroic» «$pkgdir/usr/bin/heroic» to ln -s «/opt/Heroic/heroic» «$pkgdir/usr/bin/heroic»

There’s an (unused) 7 MiB directory that could be removed: /opt/heroic/resources/app.asar.unpacked/build/bin/darwin/

Please rollback to 1.5.7 as 1.5.8 seems to be broken.

@flaviofearn now the symlink is pointing to $pkgdir/opt/heroic/heroic , even after being installed. ln -s «/opt/heroic/heroic» «$pkgdir/usr/bin/heroic looks like it does the trick for me, though I needed to do a full reinstall for it to work, so maybe there’s a better way to do it.

@MithicSpirit, just fixed it. For some reason it is not creating symlink automatically on my system so I was trying to fix it.

FYI, there is no reason to disable stripping.

Where did you determine the dependencies? It’s an Electron application, it depends on gtk3 , nss , etc.

Platform Selection

On Linux and on MacOS you can select to install the Windows version of a native game. This might be handy in case the native version is not supported anymore. On Linux you can choose that for GOG games only.

Go to the Epic or GOG store without even leaving Heroic. Get free games or buy new ones directly from Heroic’s interface!

If you don’t like the default colors, you have the ability to change them. It also includes the famous Dracula theme.

Wine Manager

On Linux, download the latest version of Wine-GE, Wine-Lutris or even Proton-GE using the Wine Manager. These selection of Wine version are focused on improving the gaming experience and compatibility.

Wine Settings
