Setup WiFi on the Huawei HG658

The Huawei HG658 router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Wireless Name

Your wireless network needs to have a name to uniquely identify it from other wireless networks. If you are not sure what this means we have a guide explaining what a wireless name is that you can read for more information.

Wireless Password

An important part of securing your wireless network is choosing a strong password.

Wireless Channel

Picking a WiFi channel is not always a simple task. Be sure to read about WiFi channels before making the choice.

Encryption

You should almost definitely pick WPA2 for your networks encryption. If you are unsure, be sure to read our WEP vs WPA guide first.

Login To The Huawei HG658

To get started configuring the Huawei HG658 WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Huawei HG658

If you followed our login guide above then you should see this screen.

To start, click the link in the left sidebar labeled Basic.

Then choose the option of WLAN in the new menu.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Huawei HG658

This puts you on a page like the one you see above.

On this page we will cover six settings:

• The Channel: If you need to change the channel make sure to use 1, 6, or 11 only. To learn more, read our WiFi Channels guide.
• The SSID: This is the name you give your network so you can recognize it. When making up a new name be sure to avoid personal information. Read our Change your Wireless Name guide for more information.
• The Security Mode: There are several different options here to choose from. We recommend using WPA2-PSK. Find out why in our WEP vs. WPA guide.
• The WPA Pre-Shared Key: This is the Internet password. This is used in conjunction with your security to keep your network safe. Make sure to use a minimum of 10 characters here with a mix of upper and lowercase letters. We also recommend using at least one number and symbol in your password. Learn more tips in our Creating a Strong Password guide.
• The WPA Encryption: Set this to AES for the most up to date encryption.
• The Enable WPS: WPS is not security. It is easy to see why people confuse WPS with WPA. WPS is a way of connecting to a network, bypassing the security and password. We recommend avoiding the use of WPS if possible. Learn why you should avoid WPS on our What is WPS guide page.

When you are finished click the Submit button to save your changes.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.

В этом году Белтелеком решил часть своих абонентов ADSL2+ перевести на VDSL и начал раздавать новые роутеры админка которых говорит о том, что это HG658 V2 Home Gateway.

Для тех кто не хочет тратить своё дорогое время на изучение данного мануала предлагаем нашу платную помощь.

Что удивительно но на корпусе написано Промсвязь М200А и что это ADSL модем! Капец странный экземпляр мне попался!

Какае-то первая партия — даже наклейки не разработали новые. Или о чём это говорит?

Логин и пароль Huawei HG658 V2 Home Gateway.

Они отличаются от стандартных admin/admin чертовски сильно:

Логин: !!Huawei пароль: @HuaweiHgw

И логин и пароль регистрозависимые

Настройка сетевой карты компьютера для Windows 7.

Админка доступна по IP адресу http://192.168.1.1 Если админка не открывается нужно проверить настройки TCP/IPv4

У вас должен быть либо настроен IPv4 в Windows 7 по схеме:

Либо настройки IPv4 в Windows 7 сброшены на автоматические (если вы ранее не использовали компьютер в другой сети):

Если у вас Windows 10 или macOS делайте всё по аналогии. Ищите где настроить TCP/IP версии 4.

Настройка VDSL роутера Huawei HG658 V2 Home Gateway.

Если настройки сетевой карты были выполнены верно, то при написании IP в строку браузера (Opera, Chrome, Edge) у нас выскачит окно ввода пароля:

Ввводим Username и Password: !!Huawei и @HuaweiHgw

Подключение_B_0_33 нужно поднастроить: Edit

После оканчания настройки и сохранения в статусе загорится IPv4 адрес:

Идём Home Network/WLAN Setting:

Ставим галочку Enable WLAN 2.4GHz и нажимаем SAVE.

Пишем SSID (Название вашей сети)

Security mode: WPA2-PSK (Самый сильный)

WPA pre-shared key (Пароль Wi-Fi)

WPA encryption mode — aes (самый сильный алгоритм)

Нажимаем кнопочку SAVE и Wi-Fi настроен!

Хорошо что есть четыре порта Gigabit Ethernet. Отличается немного меньшим размером и USB портом для подключения накопителей. Как поменять пароль Wi-Fi на ByFly? Настройка HG8245A

Рассмотрим смену пароля на самых распространённых маршрутизаторах (модемах*) ByFly (бренд Белтелекома) на примере Huawei EchoLife HG8245A. Также будет произведена настройка под самые распространённые модели использования — максимальная производительность или совместимость. Выглядит он как на фото выше. Самый важный момент в этом, то что у маршрутизаторов не только программная начинка одинакова (для Huawei EchoLife HG8245A, HG8245Hv5, HG8245H, HG8245H5, HG8245H-256M. ), но и внешний вид похож. По крайней мере Web интерфейс настройки такой же. Хотя с таким интерфейсом могут быть даже импортозамещённые модели роутеров вроде Промсвязь MT-PON-AT4. Очень похоже что с такой админкой роутеры (терминалы) ByFly могут и по другому выглядеть.
