Huawei WS323 Router Port Forwarding Guide
Your Huawei WS323 router protects your home network by limiting incoming connections from the internet. Sometimes it is necessary to unblock some of those connections like when you want to create a direct connection for gaming, use a specific application, or set up a new device on your network. This process is called forwarding or opening a port. In your Huawei WS323 router you many need to open a port, which means assigning a port number or set of port numbers to a specific IP address. This routes the incoming data to the correct device on your network.
Follow these steps to open a port in your Huawei WS323 router:
- Go ahead and set up a static IP address on the computer or device that you are forwarding these ports to.
- Go ahead and log in to your Huawei WS323 router.
- Make your way to the Port Mapping section of the Huawei WS323 router.
- Click on the Advance Settings button, which is at the top of the screen.
- Click on the Advanced tab at the left of the screen.
- Click the category labeled NAT.
- Click on the Port Mapping tab at the top of the screen.
- Create a Port Mapping entry.
If this sounds difficult, you are not alone. We will walk you through each step in opening a port for the Huawei WS323 router.
We think that forwarding a port should be easy. That’s why we created Network Utilities. Our software does everything that you need to forward a port.
When you use Network Utilities you get your port forwarded right now!
Step 1
It is important to set up a static IP address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports remain forwarded even after a reboot, power outage, or another type of device or router disconnect.
- Recommended — Our free program will setup a static IP address for you. â Download Network Utilities today!
- Or follow our Static IP Address guides to setup a static IP address.
After setting up a static ip address on your devices you need to login to your router.
Step 2
Log in to your Huawei WS323 router. To log in you will need to use a web browser since the Huawei WS323 uses a web interface to access router configurations.
Open up whichever internet browser that you are comfortable with. If you are not sure which one to use, then go ahead and open Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
To help with confusion, we have simplified this step for you with this link: Login to your WS323 Router
Once you have opened a web browser, find the address bar which is usually located at the top of the screen. The image below shows an example of this.
Above is an example of what a web browser address bar looks like. Find the address bar in your web browser and type in your router’s IP address.
The Huawei WS323 router’s default IP address is: 192.168.0.1
After typing your router’s IP address into the address bar, make sure to click the enter button on your keyboard. You should see a box similar to the one shown below.
To login, enter the username and password for the Huawei WS323s. Important Note: If you have changed them in the past, you need to enter in those values.
- The default Huawei WS323 Router Username is: admin
- The default Huawei WS323 Router Password is: admin
Once you enter your username and password, click the Login button.
Huawei Usernames and Passwords
If the username and password did not work I recommend checking out our Default Huawei Router Passwords page.
If, after trying the above list of passwords you still can’t login you may need to consider a reset for your router. Learn how to do that by reading our How to Reset a Router guide. After resetting the Huawei WS323 router your username and password are reverted back to factory defaults.
Step 3
You should be on the home page of your Huawei WS323 router once you have successfully logged in. Find the Port Mapping section of your router.
- Find the Advance Settings button located near the top of the screen and click it.
- Click the Advanced tab, which is at the left of the screen.
- Click on the category labeled NAT.
- Find the Port Mapping tab located near the top of the screen and click on it.
You are now on the Port Mapping page.
Step 4
Forwarding ports in your router creates a path that allows data to get through your network firewall, and this could lead to malicious traffic on your network. So make sure that you must forward a port before actually doing so. However, the risk is very low, so do not let this warning stop you from making this change if you need to.
- TCP Ports: 3074
- UDP Ports: 3074
- Browsing our List of Games
- Check out our our List of Games by Genre
- See our List of all Applications
- To begin creating an entry, click the button that says New.
- Click the Customization radio button.
- If you have more than one internet connection, you’ll need to select the one this forward is for from the WAN Connection list. If you don’t, this can be ignored.
- Leave Remote Host blank.
- Enter the port number into the External Port and the External End Port boxes to forward a single port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the External Port box and then enter the highest number of that range into the External End Port box.
- In the Internal Host box, enter the IP address that you want ports forwarded to. This may be the IP address of your computer or the IP address of another device on your network that you want to forward ports to.
- Take the values that you entered in the External Port box and put the exact same numbers in the Internal Port box.
- Create a name for this forward and type it into the Mapping Name box. Since the name does not have an effect on the functionality of the forward, choose a name that will help you remember why the forward was created.
- Remember to click the Submit button at the bottom of the page to apply these changes when you are completely finished.
