[SOLVED] Intel UHD 730 Graphics — Display Port 2 Daisy Chain Monitors
Post by hammadrauf » Sat Mar 26, 2022 6:24 pm
I have recently installed LMDE Mint 5 «Elsie» on my Desktop computer with one Display Port(DP) cable to Monitor 1, then via its DP Out port (daisy chaining) to DP input of Monitor 2. MSI mode is enabled on the 1st monitor. But Linux Mint is only detecting this as 1 monitor, and mirroring the output on both monitors. I have also installed Windows 10 (Now Windows 11) it works as expected, dual monitors are detected. Is there a fix for this? Other questions on this forum did not have exact same scenario as mine, so I had to generate a new question.
My Motherboard is ASRock H570 Steel Legend. Graphics is Intel CPU builtin UHD 730.
My System Information report is pasted below, and also uploaded here https://termbin.com/hdri
Thanks for your time and attention.

UnclaImed display in ubuntu 21.04 with Rocket Lake
I just put together a new PC and put an 11th gen (Rocket lake) intel CPU, i5-11400. It is supposed to have Intel UHD Graphics 730. I installed the just-released ubuntu 21.04. But the display shows as UNCLAIMED, and I can’t change the resolution, and when I try to hook up 2 monitors, the resolution decreases dramatically. It seems to me there’s a problem with the driver. Is the Intel UHD Graphics 730 driver not available in linux yet? I read that they didn’t even release the driver until a few weeks ago. Looking back at similar issues over the past few years, it seems it may take awhile for this processor to support linux graphics. If that’s the case, does anyone know how long that usually takes?
sudo lshw -c video *-display UNCLAIMED description: VGA compatible controller product: Intel Corporation vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2 bus info: pci@0000:00:02.0 version: 04 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pciexpress msi pm vga_controller bus_master cap_list configuration: latency=0 resources: memory:b0000000-b0ffffff memory:a0000000-afffffff ioport:4000(size=64) memory:c0000-dffff
The next release of Ubuntu, with an updated pre-compiled kernel, will be in six months: October 2021. If you don’t want to wait for that, then try a more bleeidng-edge distro or learn how to compile your own kernel.
@user535733 even the most «bleeding edge» kernels aka «linux-next» which are released almost daily do not support graphics or 2.5gb ethernet for the Z590 chipset. In fact nothing is supporting the 2.5gb networking but the 5.10.0-1023-oem kernel IS at least supporting the graphics.
