Rapoo E6700 Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad review
The proliferation of gadgets without keyboards has been explosive over the last few years, as have the options for keyboards to increase productivity. The Surface and Surface Pro series, the numerous Windows, Android and iOS tablets…all of them call for a keyboard to really maximize productivity with these devices. Rapoo generously sent us a sample of their E6700 Bluetooth Keyboard and Trackpad to test, so let’s have at it!
I have used a number of Bluetooth keyboards but never one with a built-in trackpad so I was very keen to try it out.
The packaging is solid, your usual cardboard with plastic covering affair. Opening the box revealed the keyboard, a USB micro charge cable and the instructions, which were basically just images showing you how to turn it on and pair it. Short story is, there’s a power switch, you turn it on, press the pair button and then do what one normally does to pair a bluetooth keyboard.
Pairing was effortless with the devices I tried it with. There was an iPad, my Lenovo Yoga 2 11 and my MacBook Pro Retina. All of them paired immediately with the keyboard. Score one!
Typing on the keyboard was interesting. The size and key pitch was similar to the Fujitsu P1XXX convertibles I owned years back. My fingers must be getting more fumbly, however. I can type without a problem on my regular keyboard (a full-sized Logitech solar keyboard) but this thing just stymies my fingers. Plus it has an annoying habit of doubling characters as you type. Lots of “ee” for example.
Here are samples of typing with the three different devices, as is with no corrections. iPad Air first:
Less than stellar on the iPad. OK, let’s try the Lenovo Yoga 2 11. Samples from the Rapoo keyboard are on top, from the Yoga 2 11’s less-than-stellar keyboard are on the bottom.
The Yoga 2 keyboard is, in a word, terrible. I bought it to use as a cheap and small machine for doing Powerpoints in my chemistry classes and I use it for little more than that. That being said, it does not suffer from the same character doubling that seems to plague this Rapoo device, though this problem was not as evident on the Windows 8 machine as it was on the iPad.
The only snag I hit was when connecting it with the MacBook.
So I went through the process of keypress recognition and got this:

The double character problem is really awful here.
To get an idea of how big this thing is, I compare it with the size of my full-sized keyboard:
The Rapoo website shows that this keyboard is available in black or white surface with a black, white, red, blue or yellow undercarriage. It is made of aluminum and the keys are scissor-type in design. It has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery but no estimates of battery life are made. It measures 13″ long, 4″ wide and 3/16″ thick, except where the battery is along the back of the unit to keep it propped up at an angle, where it is about half an inch thick. It can be tossed into pretty much any gear bag without a second thought, it’s very lightweight and has a very quality fit and finish to it. If it weren’t for the character doubling issues, I would enthusiastically recommend it, especially for someone with smaller and nimbler hands than mine. I was unable to test it with an Android device but I have no reason to think it’s going to be any different there.

Всем привет! Недавно был обзор модели Avatto A17, а у меня как раз имеется старшая модель B033, это которая с тачпадом, более емким аккумулятором и магнитными фиксаторами. Так же она получилась малость крупнее и тяжелее.

В комплекте есть microUSB кабель для зарядки и инструкция. Кликабельно, всё хорошо видно.
Клавиатура весит около 200 грамм
Размеры: 152 x 97 x 12 мм. Для сравнения телефон с диагональю дисплея 5.5(sharp aquos S2).
В разложенном виде: 302 x 97 x 8 мм. Кириллица отсутствует, но проблема решается за доллар.
Клавиш 64 и расположены они малость плотнее классики, но привыкаешь быстро.
Функционал
На верхней грани тач панели расположены слот зарядки, ползунок включения/выключения и кнопка сопряжения с помощью кода. Это позволяет сабжу «привязываться» к определенному устройству и в случае перебоев связи соединение очень быстро восстанавливается, т.к. сабж будет ждать свою «пару» вместо того чтобы искать новую. Удобно, но нужно вводить сгенерированный операционной системой PIN-код.
Так и в Windows устройствах
В инструкции написано, что комбинацией fn + Q, W или E можно выбрать используемую операционную систему. Я пробовал все 3 комбинации — разницы в поведении не заметил, видимо определяется автоматически и вручную нужно выбирать только если что-то пошло не так. Кстати, в Android чувствительность тача несколько ниже, чем в Windows.
Жесты
Описанные жесты работают, но вот зум и колесо прокрутки можно активировать несколько проще — достаточно задержать указательный палец в одном положении, а вторым пальцем вводить вверх/вниз для прокрутки и по диагонали для увеличения/уменьшения масштаба. Так же обратил внимание, что в режиме просмотра изображений свайп вторым пальцем влево или вправо листает картинки.
Видео работы записывать не стал, т.к. не думаю, что у кого-то возникнут проблемы с подключением и использованием данной клавиатуры, но если кому-то интересно, есть официальный ролик от бэнга
Автономность
Заявлен аккумулятор 140 мАч и потребление 3-8 мА в рабочем режиме. Довольно убедительно. За неделю относительно активного использования(3-4 часа в день) клавиатура так и не села
Итоги
Когда-то прикупил аэромышь с мелкой клавиатурой и ресивером, который переносится в ее же корпусе, что довольно удобно, но по эргономике плохо — кнопочки маленькие, запястье сводит много печатать. Очень выручала когда приходилось ковырять системные блоки на коленке.
В обозреваемой модели используется только bluetooth, так что приходится таскать с собой еще и донгл если вдруг нужно будет подключиться к устройству, у которого нет встроенного модуля, так что для меня это минус, в остальном получилось довольно неплохое устройство за свои деньги. Приличный корпус без скрипов и люфта, бесшумные кнопки, кстати, пользуюсь механической клавиатурой(синие переключатели), поэтому в ночное время частенько пользуюсь сабжем, дабы не тревожить окружающих. Просто задвигаю одну клавиатуру, включаю вторую, раскладываю и сижу в полной тишине, даже мышкой клацать не приходится. А ведь изначально брал ее для планшета )
Сопряжение с помощью кода так же вполне разумное решение, т.к. одновременно может быть создана только одна пара, что исключает случайное подключение к другому устройству после включения или в процессе работы.
Неплохая автономность — если печатать и пользоваться тачскрином в режиме нон-стоп, клавиатура должна проработать около 18 часов, а если при этом не пользоваться тачем, то на двое суток. В обычном режиме мне легко хватает на неделю, в воскресенье заряжаю перед работой не дожидаясь индикатора разряда.
В сложенном виде напоминает лопатофон с экраном 6+ дюймов, помещается как во внутренний карман куртки, так и в передние карманы штанов, хотя из-за угловатой формы будет ощущаться некий дискомфорт.
