Bluetooth MIDI Connect 4+
Update: Finally, after more than 1 month oof the release of IOS 13, Korg issued a firmware update which re-enables bluetooth connectivity. I’m still not impressed, as this would have been preventable had Korg chosen to release the firmware update when IOS 13 was initially launched. Aren’t IOS Beta versions supposed to enable developers to get their shot together before an IOS update will be released?
Original Review: Can not connect to my KORG MicroKEY Air MIDI controller. The Korg ble app sees the device, but cannot connect to it. KORG should stop selling incompatible devices immediatedly.

Hi, we finally released new firmwares for our controllers to fix this issue. Please download and try again? https://www.korg.com/news/2019/112903/
Works perfect on Ipad IOS 15.6.1
Needed this app with my Korg Microkey Air which I was hesitating to buy since they were many reviews, stating that it would not work with Bluetooth. After adding this app, but keyboards works great on all keyboard and synth apps my Ipad pro, resulting in true wireless experience as no cables / hubs etc are connected which is ideal for traveling. It is worth noting that is app is only used once afterwards you don’t need to open it anymore. It is not active. Hope this helps!
Beware IOS 13
Everything worked great in IOS 12 and previous. Microkey Air won’t pair now in IOS 13 and there is nothing Korg can do about this .. it’s up to apple. The 2018 iPad Pro’s along with IOS 13 make a less than stellar combo for IOS musicians and producers. Sure wish Apple would give IOS 13 users the choice to go back to IOS 12.

News
We have released a system updater that provides iOS13/iPadOS13 support for the BLE-MIDI (Bluetooth LE) connection functionality of KORG microKEY Air. For details on how to download and install the updater, refer to the following links.
* To perform the update, connect the product to your Mac or Windows PC via a USB connection.
Control, unplugged
Too many wires in your studio? Are they literally holding you back from the freedom of different configurations and setups?
KORG, creators of the best-selling microKEY series and the next-gen microKEY2 series can help you break free with the new microKEY Air series of wireless MIDI controllers!
Connect wirelessly to iPad, iPhone, Mac, or Windows
The microKEY Air supports Bluetooth Smart “Apple Bluetooth Low Energy MIDI”. You can easily connect wirelessly to iPad/iPhone music apps such as KORG Gadget, KORG Module, and GarageBand, as well as any MIDI-capable music production software on your Mac or Windows. Painstaking tuning of the Bluetooth capabilities means high stability and low latency, no strings – or wires – attached.
Lasts a month between battery changes
With an average of one hour of use per day, the batteries allow approximately one month of operation. And best of all, the microKEY Air runs on just two AA batteries.
To USB or not to USB?
microKEY Air can also be connected via a traditional USB cable. Since the microKEY is USB bus-powered, you only need a single USB cable to connect it to Mac or Windows. There’s no need to install a driver; just use your preferred music software (or install any of the applications provided with microKEY Air), connect it to your computer and start playing right away! The second generation newly supports connection to iPad and iPhone. Add an Apple Lightning — USB camera adaptor and one USB cable and your setup is complete, allowing you to access apps such as KORG Gadget, KORG Module, and GarageBand.
Compact and playable Natural Touch Mini Keyboard
KORG’s Natural Touch mini keyboard has been carefully designed to assure playability while staying compact, and makes it easy to play chords or rapid phrases. Choose between 25, 37, 49 or 61-key configurations to suit your specific playing style and space/travel requirements.
With your iPhone and the new microKEY, you can enjoy great sound anywhere
KORG Module and the microKEY are the best possible combination for a mobile performance environment. With the new microKEY which supports a damper, or the microKEY Air which provides a wireless connection via Bluetooth MIDI, your iPhone instantly transforms into a high-quality sound module. In your room, in a practice studio, when riding in a moving vehicle, or outdoors, it’s easy to set up and immerse yourself in a superb playing experience wherever you are.
Connect a pedal, and enjoy full control functionality
The 37, 49, and 61-key models provide an assignable switch jack for connecting a damper pedal. The 25-key model provides a sustain button that implements the damper function. On all models, you can use the octave buttons in conjunction with the key transpose function to play MIDI’s entire range of notes.
The 37, 49, and 61-key models provide pitch bend and modulation wheels. The 25-key model provides a joystick that can also control pitch bend and modulation, as well as an arpeggiator function, giving you full control in spite of this model’s space-saving dimensions, and providing a wealth of performance expression.
Software for Bluetooth MIDI
KORG BLE-MIDI Driver for Windows
The proprietary KORG BLE-MIDI Driver now allows fast and simple wireless connection between your Windows PC and KORG Bluetooth enabled keyboard (such as the nanoSTUDIO series and microKEY Air).
You can enjoy performing or producing music via an easy wireless connection not only from your iPhone/iPad or Mac, but also from your Windows PC. This is a powerful new addition to the Windows world and this driver works with Windows 8.1 and above.
Bluetooth MIDI Connect for Mac
The dedicated utility «Bluetooth MIDI Connect for Mac» allows fast and simple wireless connection between your Mac and KORG Bluetooth enabled keyboard (such as the nanoSTUDIO series and microKEY Air).
This greatly simplifies the sometimes troublesome process of establishing a wireless connection, letting you easily and quickly connect whenever you want.
Bluetooth MIDI Connect for iOS
«Bluetooth MIDI Connect» allows you to wirelessly connect your iPhone/iPad and KORG Bluetooth enabled keyboard (such as the nanoSTUDIO series and microKEY Air) even when using an app that does not support Bluetooth MIDI.
This enables wireless connection for any app that supports Core MIDI.
Lavish array of powerful music software bundled free of charge
The microKEY comes with a serious collection of powerful music software titles including popular special editions of KORG Gadget and KORG Module plus the KORG Collection M1 Le which includes a plug-in version of the classic KORG M1 instrument.
