1. Create a Bootable Disk

2. Select MBR partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI and If your laptop has UEFI bios then select the other two options.
3. For the Filesystem select the NTFS option and select if your PC has UEFI bios then select FAT32.
4. The default Cluster size option should be selected.
5. Make sure all three options including Quick Format, Create a Bootable disk using, and Create extended labels and icon files are selected.
6. Finally, start the process and this software will automatically format and create a bootable USB flash drive.

2. Change boot-order to boot from USB in MSI Laptop

1. Turn your MSI Laptop off
2. It is not necessary to change the Boot Order in your MSI Laptop.

5. Selecting Time Zone

Не ставится Linux на ноутбук MSI

Здравствуйте друзья, такая проблема недавно купил ноутбук MSI GL62 6QF где была предустановлена Вин 10, хочу поставить линукс(второй системой), но никак не могу этого сделать. Пробовал уже кучу дистрибутивов (Mint, Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, Kali) все то же самое.
при загрузке с флешки выдает такие вот строки (на первом скрине). Самое удачное, что получалось, это установка Ubuntu 16.04.1 с режимами acpi=off и nomodeset. Но проблема была в том что при запуске системы все очень тормозило (вероятно из-за отсутствия драйверов) и еще большая проблема была в том что не работала ни встроенная в ноутбук клавиатура, ни внешняя клавиатура, ни тачпад, ни (что интересно) экранная клавиатура. Единственное место где клавиатура работала, так это поле ввода пароля при запуске системы. Соответственно, ничего в этой системе больше сделать было нельзя. Что и как делать дальше я не знаю, прошу вас помочь ибо очень нужно поставить Линукс. Далее распишу характеристика ноутбука (если что-то забыл то прошу в комментариях напомнить мне):

Что встречал, лишь в биосе по-умолчанию функция выключений была не активно, после перепрошивки биоса на актуальную версию опции были доступны. Но опять таки я утверждаю лишь на те, что встречал лично, про все я ничего не говорю.

How to Install Ubuntu 16.04 on MSI GE62 6QD

After 4 days of trying many solutions I found around the internet without success.
The last solution I tried have finally made Ubuntu 16.04 working almost flawlessly
on my PC.
Here’s the specifications of my PC:
Intel Core i7 6700HQ 2.6GHz
NVIDIA GTX 960M 2GB
Without further ado, here are the steps to install and run Ubuntu on MSI GE62 5QC.

Download Ubuntu 16.04 LTS ISO and burn it to a DVD or USB Disk Drive
Open your BIOS Settings (Press”DELETE” on MSI logo when first turning on the PC)
Disable “SecureBoot” on your BIOS under tab “Security”
Run your Ubuntu Installation disk (Insert DVD to Optical Drive and restart the PC)
When GRUB appears, highlight “Install Ubuntu” then press “e”
Add “acpi=off” after the line “quiet splash” then press F10
Wait until the GUI appears, then install your Ubuntu accordingly
After the installation finished, eject the Installation Media and restart your PC
If GRUB doesn’t show up after restart, change the boot priority
in your BIOS: “Open BIOS -> Boot -> Boot Order -> Change Boot Order #1 to Ubuntu”
then press F10 and restart
When GRUB appears, press ‘e’ then add “nouveau.modeset=0” after “quiet splash” line,
then press F10

Your Ubuntu will start successfully
If you have problem installing from USB, try to use the DVD instead. I also cannot
install it from the USB.
Anyway, the “nouveau.modeset=0” seems to make the NVIDIA not working, the graphics
will only use Intel HD Graphics. It won’t be a problem for me since I only use the
Ubuntu for working and use Windows for games and entertainment. But if you find any
solution to make the NVIDIA working flawlessly please comment here.

Установка Ubuntu на MSI ноутбук с видеокартой GTX1060

Если вы стали счастливым обладателем ноутбука от компании MSI. Опробовали live версию и она работала отлично, всё казалось живым и рабочим, но при попытке установить образ всё превращалось в страшный сон. Добро пожаловать, сегодня постараюсь поделиться простыми советами как заставить это чудо работать.

Установка набора Ubuntu 18.10, CUDA, CDNN, Pytorch and TensorFlow.

Естественно у вас уже должен быть образ, если его нет, то его легко можно создать: https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu

Подготовка к установке: для этого необходимо зайти в BIOS (при запуске или после перезагрузки много раз жать Del) найти опцию Security boot и поставить её как disabled.

Сохранить и перезагрузить.

После перезагрузки должна начаться установка Ubuntu с флешки, но торопиться не следует.

Важно: выбрать опцию Install Ubuntu но ENTER — НЕ ЖАТЬ, нужно нажать клавишу E.
Найти строку которая начинается со слова linux в ней после quiet splash добавить modprobe.blacklist=nouveau
Дальше выполнить установку в обычном виде. После завершения установки убрать флешку и перезагрузить.

После перезагрузки, нужно будет установить драйвера на NVIDIA GTX1060

Для этого нужно зайти в GRUB (обычно клавиша F2) и повторить те же самые действия которые мы выполняли перед началом установки с дописыванием modprobe.blacklist=nouveau.
Как только система загрузится и появится логин, нужно тут же перейти в терминал (Ctrl + Alt + F1/F2/F3 … FN тут как повезёт, иногда зависает) в терминале нужно выполнить следующий код:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa sudo apt update sudo apt install nvidia-driver-410 sudo reboot

Естественно, можно выбрать любую версию драйверов, но 410 встала идеально.

Собственно основные шаги уже были выполнены, дело осталось за малым.

Установка CUDA 9.0 and CUDNN 7.0:
Для этого нужно выполнить шаги которые хорошо описал Taylor Denouden

Установка Pytorch 0.4:

conda create -n torch python=3.6 conda install -y pytorch=0.4 torchvision cuda90 -c pytorch

Протестировать, что установка прошла нормально, можно следующим образом

python -c 'import torch; print(torch.rand(2,3).cuda())'

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/cuda/lib64

Опять же для проверки маленький кусок кода:

python -c 'from tensorflow.python.client import device_lib; device_lib.list_local_devices()'
