На вики есть инструкция для арча, но она не работает.
На оф сайте мультиархитектурые версии только для убунты и дебиана(система х64).
Skype из пакета dynamic требует библиотеки которых нету.

Что бы это значило?
С веб версией пишет то же самое.
Файл PKGBUILD — это bash-скрипт, содержащие функции, которые будут выполнены при запуске makepkg, и эти функции могут содержать любые команды или синтаксис Bash. Таким образом, вполне возможно, что в PKGBUILD будут содержаться небезопасные команды, добавленные туда намеренно или по недосмотру. Можете просмотреть PKGBUILD на наличие сомнительных команд, а потом отредактировать при их на явности.

Да, можно. Месяца 2 назад устанавливал. Кроме выше написаного совета по установки, можно так же установить SkypeWeb плагин для мессенджера Pidgin. В терминале набирал:

Они пишутся всегда при сборке пакета из AUR. Это ж якобы не официальный репозиторий… Это как надпись на столовом ноже — будь аккуратней, а то пальцы себе отчекрыжиш.
в памаке в настройках, вкладка AUR выставь галочки «проверить обновления» и «не спрашивать подтверждения при зборке пакетов» и памаком ставь себе
Подниму тему. После какого-то из обновлений перестал запускаться Skype 4.3. Если быть точным, то запуск происходит нормально, выскакивает окно авторизации, но после ввода логина и пароля все падает.

Проблема стоит не остро, так как поставил Skype For Linux и он работает.
Просто старый интерфейс привычнее. Сталкивался кто с таким поведением? Проблемы на двух компах с manjaro + kde. Компы различается только железом.
Вроде на opennet было, что майкрософт прекращает поддержку скайпа 4.3 для линукс. Вероятно свершилось.
У меня Skype 4.3 работает до сих пор и на XFCE и на KDE, тоже самое и в Debian 9, пользуюсь старой версией, так как Skypeforlinux на относительно старых компьютерах имеет известные проблемы, а у меня вдобавок ищё и со звуком траблы, на Skype 4.3 этих проблем нет, пока всё работает (видеоконференциями непользуюсь). В manjaro ставлю из AUR, подобную проблему с авторизацией решал копированием сохранённого ранее пользовательского каталога .Skype в /home. Или удалением каталога .Skype, запуском программы и входом в аккаунт Microsoft (а не Skype), если таковой имеется. Всё это делал буквально на днях, всё работает!
С каталогом пробовал -не сработало. Прибил каталог .Skype, попробовал и аккаунт Skype и аккаунт Micrisoft (с удалением каталога) — закрывается на моменте авторизации. Спасибо откликнувшимся, проблема не особо остро стоит, так как skypeforlinux работает. Будет время, попробую разобраться.
Почитал, попробовал sed’ом пропатчить, не сработало. Забиваю на старую версию, а жаль — новый интерфейс совсем не нравится.
А у меня новый skypeforlinux не работает, при включении у себя видео — в динамиках собеседника начинается цокот и меня не слышно, это касается и web-версии, грешу на железо, так как, что странно аналогичное происходит и в WinXP и Win7. Но вот в чём состоит прикол: компьютер собрал из запчастей для тёщи (Athlon64 Socket754, 2Гб DDR-I, GForce 6600GT 128Mb), слабоват, но нужно было сделать общение по Skype, онлайн фильмы и игрушки типа аркад и поиск предметов. Ни WinXP ни Win7 с этой задачей не справились (хотя делал ставку на Windows, чтоб отдать компьютер и меня не доставали), но онлайн подтормаживал, Skype не работает, только игрушки. Думал приехали. Q4OS (Debian+TDE) — завёл Skype 4.3, онлайн на chrome не тормозит, но онлайн игры и под Wine чуть подтупливают, потом были разные бубунты, короче тоже провал. На раз наверное восьмой, поставил manjaro XFCE, был поражён — всё работает, наверное на пределе возможностей железа, но не тупит. Тут я в /home, до запуска Skype 4.3 подсовывал каталог .Skype с регистрацией ещё в Debian. Пока пользуются, с ужасом жду звонка от тёщи.
