No Tablet found on Surface 3 Pro (Solved)
Post by JonnyCache » Tue Feb 11, 2020 4:57 pm
i have an problem. After i installed Mint Cinnamon Tricia 19.3 new on my Surface 3 Pro, it doesnt notice my Tablet in the system settings. So i cant set the buttons of the stylus or use easystroke and so on.
Before i used Mint Cinnamon 19.2 and i didnt had that problem. I seen that the xserver.xorg Stuff changed to hwe.
If i do this on 19.2
dpkg --list | grep xserver-xorg*

How can i make my change from hwe to non hwe? Or is there another way to get the tablet notices in the system settings under 19.3. Btw
doesnt notice any device, on 19.2 everything was noticed (Touchscreen, Pen, Keyboard and so on).
Is there a way to fix this?

(solved) Configure graphical tablet/tablet not detected

I’m trying to get my old «Trust widescreen mini tablet» working on my Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon 64 bit system with multiple monitors.
Now, it works almost flawless out of the box with pressure and everything. The problem is that it’s designed for a single monitor, and becomes hard to use when my system think it got a 4880×1080 display (it just «stretches» the tablet to fill that space).
Selecting Graphics Tablet in settings doesn’t just give the message «No tablet detected»/»Please plug in or turn on your graphics tablet», even though it’s working just fine.
If relevant, from terminal I get this
rainbow@Silo ~ $ xinput list ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ . ⎜ ↳ WALTOP International Corp. Slim Tablet stylus id=15 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)] .

Would be great if you could either help me get a graphical gui working to configure it, or guide me to get the tablet only working on only 1 monitor/area of the screen.

Mint 17.2 No Tablet Detected (wacom) [Kernel 3.19 issue]
Post by Olson » Mon Oct 26, 2015 1:58 pm
Edit So I rebooted back in to the older 3.16 kernel and the GUI became available again, so I’m wondering now if I can get this working with 3.19 because I’m using it for additional support for xbox one controller.
Hello.. I didn’t notice until today but for whatever reason when I go to preferences -> graphics tablet, the UI there is saying «No Tablet Detected» Please plug in or turn on your graphics tablet.
Well that’s strange, because it’s plugged in and turned on and working, just I cannot configure it using the GUI to map to individual monitor or switch left / right handed etc.

I have also tried pulling out the other devices webcam.. xbone controller. , I have tried reinstalling the xserver-xorg-input-wacom package.. I’ve tried rebooting.. I didn’t really know what else to check or where to turn, any advice would be greatly appreciated — I know I could use xsetwacomset or so but I’m not expert on commandline things, I did enjoy having the GUI.
Edit I suppose the only thing I did do, was update the Kernel from the repository to 3.19, whether this could have caused it I dont know but I wanted a later kernel for the added xbox one controller support because my brother gave me one and when he visits I have some games we can play.
I suppose I can test this by booting to the old kernel.
