[SOLVED]USB headphones not working. PC sound is
Post by jadeclan » Sat Jan 02, 2016 3:03 pm
I am new to linux, but so far very impressed. However, I can not get my USB headphones to work. I am using a fresh install of linux cinnamon mint rosa. A previous
post indicated I should capture some info to help resolve the issue, so here it is:

Notes: I am able to see my headphones (Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000) when I right click on the audio icon on the panel, but am unable to select them. I tried rebooting with the headphones plugged in — no success.
Any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Troubleshooting audio with USB headphones
Post by zachwhalen » Sat Jun 06, 2020 3:07 am
I’m have an annoying problem. I suspect it’s hardware-related because of how inconsistent the problem is, but I’m new to Linux Mint so I’m hoping that there’s a software way to diagnose or even fix it.
The problem is that I’m trying to use some headphones over USB (Sound Blaster Jam). When I connect them to a USB port, they will (usually) show up as a selectable output device, but sometimes only for a second before disappearing. Sometimes I can switch to them and use them for hours, sometimes the appear and disappear over and over again for a few minutes before finally giving up. Any ideas? This has been going on since I installed Linux Mint (I have 19.3, 64-bit).
I understand it’s useful to post the output of inxi -Fxxrzc0 when seeking help, so I’ll paste that below. I managed to catch it while the headphones were briefly visible.
Any ideas? Thanks for looking!
