Logitech Options on Linux
I was having the same problem as you did/do. The solution that I found to address this issue was installing Solaar.
This application allows you to manage Logitech devices. I have a Logitech 400 plus (A keyboard with a mouse) and with that, I can achieve the things that I needed to change.
sudo apt install solaar solaar
And you’re going to see on the top right corner a battery icon indicating the battery remaining on your device. Hope this helps you!

There is an unofficial driver for Logitech mice and keyboards which works for me with Ubuntu 18.04 and the MX Master 2S. It enabled me to use my thumb button with gestures, smartshift scrolling with an individual threshold and individual dpi settings. See here on how to install the driver.
The Flow feature is not yet implemented but there seems to exist an alternative for Windows/Linux/Mac called barrier.
Solution 3
sudo apt install solaar solaar
This was the answer for me. I used it to enable a unifying USB receiver, and share it with an ERGO K860 keyboard and an MX ERGO trackball. Solaar will detect all devices paired with supported Unifying, Lightspeed, or Nano receivers, and at the very least display some basic information about them. A really excellent utility. Props to @vito genovese for the heads-up.

As it stands Logitech Options is not available for Linux and it does not appear to be running in WINE. You could always check the WINE website for more information, but it looks like there is nothing yet.
You should always checkout the Arch Linux Wiki for help. Here is the article covering the MX Master.

After trying many other solutions listed here, logiops has worked great so far: custom button-mapping, gesture support, smart shift, etc. Nearly every LogiOptions feature seems to be supported by it. I’m running Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS and using an MX Master 3.
Folks may be put off by it because there’s no GUI, and build and installation aren’t trivial (I had a problem where cmake couldn’t find libevdev). That being said, Danish Shakeel’s Configure Logitech MX Master 3 on Linux blog post helped quite a bit, especially for getting started with the configuration file. The documentation for the configuration file is quite good, but it can get a little tricky and there aren’t many examples out there aside from the example in the repository.
For what it’s worth, here’s my configuration (located at /etc/logid.cfg by default):
devices: ( < name: "Wireless Mouse MX Master 3"; smartshift: < on: true; threshold: 30; default_threshold: 30; >; hiresscroll: < hires: true; invert: true; target: false; >; dpi: 1700; buttons: ( < cid: 0x52; // scroll wheel button action = < type: "Keypress"; keys: [ "KEY_RIGHTMETA" ]; // open activities overview >>, < cid: 0x53; // back button action = < type: "Keypress"; keys: [ "KEY_RIGHTMETA", "KEY_PAGEDOWN" ]; // move to previous space >>, < cid: 0x56; // forward button action = < type: "Keypress"; keys: [ "KEY_RIGHTMETA", "KEY_PAGEUP" ]; // move to next space >>, < cid: 0xc4; // mode shift button action = < type: "Keypress"; keys: [ "KEY_RIGHTMETA", "KEY_A" ]; // show applications >> ); > );
For mapping keyboard shortcuts, refer to /usr/include/linux/input.h.
Logitech Options for Ubuntu
i recently bought a Logitech MX Ergo Trackball and wanted to use the feature which allows you by pressing a button to switch between Computers. For that to work Logitech Options needs to be installed on both Computers. Unfortunately Logitech does not provide this software for Linux/Ubuntu. Is there a way to get the software running on my Ubuntu system? Any information or advice is appreciated.
I have no idea how it connects (wifi? usb?) but you could always sniff the traffic, re-play what you heard and write a script that transmits that traffic to the device — but this is guess as I don’t know the device you mention, and this would require some scripting skill.

You don’t actually need Windows to pair the trackball, ltunify will let you do this on Linux. Just follow the guide on the page (ie. turn off your MX Ergo, run ltunify, turn on the MX Ergo again, done). If you don’t want to mess with the user permissions, you can just run ltunify with sudo.
Once you’re paired, you can change the settings (HID++ Scrolling and pointer sensitivity) using Solaar.
I just got my MX Ergo in the mail, so can confirm that this process works per the current date 🙂
You don’t actually need Logitech Options installed on your linux machine. Just pair your device using the USB dongle or bluetooth (may need a bluetooth dongle if your box doesn’t have bluetooth already). I switch my Logitech mouse and keyboard between my Ubuntu box, Windows box, and Macbook Pro using the buttons on the Logitech devices without any problems.
The problem is, that if I pair the device with 2 dongles only one works at a time (the last i paired it with). So even if i connect one dongle to my notebook and one to my PC only one works.
The logitech devices can only be paired to a single usb. To use between multiple machines, the other machines need to be paired using bluetooth. For example, you can have 1 usb + 2 bluetooth, or 3 bluetooth. Even with Logitech Options installed, this still holds true.
Oh wow i completly forgot about the bluetooth option WITHOUT the usb-device. This clearly solved it. Thank you.
So it’s a bit roundabout but I just had to deal with this problem and I worked out a way to accomplish this with two Logi receivers rather than having to resort to bluetooth. The tricky part is that if you plug both receivers in to one computer, you can only pair a given device to one receiver. So, split them. Mouse on one, keyboard on the other. Unplug one receiver, then use the other to pair. That will work since they aren’t both plugged in at the same time. Then unplug the first receiver, plug in the second, and pair the other. You can then transfer either receiver to Ubuntu.
This isn’t really an answer, it’s an advertisement. There are all kinds of configurable options on logitech devices that you cannot adjust via the Ubuntu interface (or doing so would be too time-consuming to imagine). As much of Logitech has switched to Bluetooth, there’s no way to edit many things via Solaar. (Yes I realize this is a year old, hence the comment.)
