Ltap mini no wifi
recently I´ve bought a LTAP Mini LTE Kit for my RV.
The LTAP mini is powered over 12V DC.
LTE, WiFi, Ethernet, GPS works pretty fine for a couple of weeks, but suddenly LTE disappears after reboot. After a powercycle it´s back running, but after each reboot it´s gone. There´s also no way to re-enable it or something else. Power cycling was the only way to re-enable the LTE Interface.
Even a complete Configuration Reset was not helpful.
That´s make me not really happy/unhappy, but I can live with that so far but.
Yesterday I´ve upgraded to the newest Firmware (6.43), in hope this could may fix the problems I´m facing.
-> The LTE issue is still the same. No LTE Interface after reboot.
So, as usual I made a power cycle, but now LTE AND WiFi Interfaces are gone! No WiFi, no LTE anymore, even after some powercycles and some time without power at all. There´s no way I found to re-enable them.
No this is a real game changer for me! This is not acceptable at all!
So, Dear Mikrotik Team or Community: Could you please provide me a Bugfix? Is there something to do? Do I miss something?
Re: LTAP Mini LTE kit — LTE interface dissapears after reboot
I have the same problem, LTE interface disappear randomly, especially on USB power.
then I upgrade the Routeros to latest edition. now the LTAP is brick. There is no WLAN available after netinstall.. ether1 is not enable for DHCP.
i.e. the LTAP become inaccessible.
not to mention that switch SIM will reset all WLAN interface, what a flaw design.
how can i bring back the LTAP.
Re: LTAP Mini LTE kit — LTE interface dissapears after reboot
Just success enter Winbox, found out that after netinstall, WLAN is disabled, no ip, no bridge, there is no default configuration. After reset configuration, and default configuration come back.
The LTAP is a very bad design.
Re: LTAP Mini LTE kit — LTE interface dissapears after reboot
I`ve bought another ltap mini last week. Accessed by winbox without problem but i can not define a lte interface. I’ve tried with two different sim cards same ISP. Could you please make an appointment or help ? I’m so scared.

Latest long-term with latest modem firmware has the same issue. No LTE interface after reboot. Everything gets back to normal after power cycle.

Is your LTAP Mini a R1 or a R2?
You can check that in the System » RouterBOARD menu: if it says «R2» or «release 2» somewhere it is R2, otherwise it is R1.

Re: LTAP Mini LTE kit — LTE interface dissapears after reboot
Mine was R2. I already RMA-ed the device due to lack of response from official MikroTik support (SUP-23837).
The new one (also R2) has modem firmware MikroTik_CP_2.160.000_v012 and works fine. I won’t upgrade to MikroTik_CP_2.160.000_v017 until I get some kind of response from official support.
Also, I’ve been digging in the supout.rif files and found that the LTE interface doesn’t show up when it is presented as NEZHA instead of R11e-LTE

Ltap mini no wifi
Shown in the attached picture is the way I normally set up and the problem I am having with the LtAP mini series. I have set up a few of these with no problems. But have gotten 2 now with this same issue. As shown in the picture, after inserting the sim card I go to 1.Interface 2. LTE 3. LTP APNs and then create the APN for the provider. The 2 units I cannot get to work do not show anything in the number 4 area on the picture. Where as the others that I have set up have a «LTE» item on that line. I had to install the one I had that was working, and the new one I got is doing the same thing. Please help. I hope this is just a quick setting change.
side note. I have tried changing the sim slot to the top slot, and changing it in the routerboard setting, no luck. I try to set the APN manually in the quick settings, no luck. I am at a lost of what to do.

Re: LtAP mini series LTE missing.
Apart from inserting the SIM, did you also insert the LTE modem itself in the miniPCIe slot inside the case?
The LtAP mini can be purchased without a modem or as a kit, with a modem. Depends which one you ordered.
Re: LtAP mini series LTE missing.
I did not know there were 2 different models. I only inserted the sim. It is supposed to be a «kit». It is the «Mikrotik LtAP mini LTE kit small weatherproof wireless access point with built in cellular modem». That’s the amazon description. I have gotten about 4 or 5 of this same model and about half have the same problem.

Re: LtAP mini series LTE missing.
Why you buy device not from distributor?
btw, this amazon auction should give you a modem r11e-LTE-US.
[marcin.przysowa@SXTR_LTE6] > system resource usb print # DEVICE VENDOR NAME SPEED 0 1-0 Linux 3.3.5 ehci_hcd RB400 EHCI 480 1 1-1 MikroTik R11e-LTE6 480
Witchout r11e-* device means LtAP mini without modem.
You can open box and check the modem exist or not.

Re: LtAP mini series LTE missing.
At your place I will use warranty and turned this device.
Modem should be works out-of-box and only APN can not give automatical connectivity with internet but the devices is not work properly for you !.
But you can do few commands only
# Reset to FactorySetting by:
/system reset-configuration skip-backup=yes no-defaults=no
# This yes or no enable/disable detection modem as PPP or LTE device — perhaps this should be change to opposite. I have got the NO value. You can check the check box in WinBox of this.
port firmware set ignore-directip-modem=no
system reboot
# Type of working the additional USB BUS but this is never changed until someone (previous user of device) not try use other modem etc. This is last hope option.
system routerboard usb set type=USB-type-A
system reboot
system routerboard usb set type=mini-PCIe
system reboot
If all those not change the discovery of LTE device then sorry.
Use warranty from distributor.
btw, You can buy $10 WWAN USB adapter and plugin this momem into adapter and use it at other MikroTik to checking purpose but this is just additional option.
I hope you have warranty because your device not work in normal proper way.
