Hey guys, been trying to get Andromeda to run in Wine for months now. Just tested it out and it finally works! So excited. 😀

• Elementary OS 0.4.1 (Ubuntu 16.04 base)
• GTX 970 (Proprietary Driver 384.111)
• Wine-PBA 3.3 x86_64
• DXVK 0.31 (d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll binaries)
• Origin Client w/ Lutris

Performance seems ok so far, definitely not Windows level but still playable. If anyone is interested in a tutorial, let me know!

EDIT: Quick update on gameplay. Performance is 130FPS-140FPS in areas where there are no strong lighting effects. If you move to an area where the sun is glaring at you, the framerate will drop to under 5FPS until your turn your camera away from it (like a vampire :P). Would recommend waiting for a future DXVK release before attempting.

This even applies to small lights. Example 1 Example 2

EDIT #2: Figured out how to keep a consistent >60FPS! There’s a way to turn off the glare lighting with a user.cfg file placed into the game’s directory. Here is mine . Screenshot #1 Screenshot #2 . Happy playing!

What’s going on:
This little project fixes the notorious symlink error that many Linux players experienced while trying to use Frosty Mod Manager under wine. How it’s achieved and many more you can find in the Readme on github. Also it adds a new option to launch games directly via new shortcut arguments — usage is described again in the Readme.

How to install:
Download original Frosty Mod Manager in version EXACTLY 1.0.6.2 and then overwrite its files with the ones from the patch. Or just build it yourself (Windows machine required).

Important:
To make the game actually LOAD the mods you need to install some DLLs from here https://github.com/zeroKilo/MEAExplorerWV/tree/master/AnselSDK64/Release.

What to expect:
Personally I’ve tested it with only MEA but in theory nothing should stop this patch from working with other games.

How to use it:
Sadly I’m not good at writing exhaustive tutorials nor I have time to answer many questions, but you can find some tips in. you guessed it, Readme.
