A heavy-magnet long-throw driver is mated to a frequency contouring circuit that automatically adjusts output over half-octave increments, resulting in musically accurate tonal balance and bass response.

Simple hands-on controls to deliver exactly what you want. One knob for power and source, one knob for volume, and one 5:1 ratio tuning dial to help you bring in even the weakest stations.

Playback

But behind the Model One’s simple appearance hides a multitude of technology, facilitating higher sound reproduction and better reception over anything else near it in size.

The sound is very low when Bluetooth connected to another device.Otherwise this is a great little radio.The quality of the sound is good but it’s just not loud enough when Bluetooth connected.

You’ll never realize how great a mono speaker can sound until you get this thing. I use mine for AM Radio news and as an AUX speaker for a tablet I have permanently sitting next to the Tivoli on a shelf. I play Tidal on that tablet and it sounds great coming out of this little speaker. As the description says, it has great tonal balance and bass response. Good staging and detail. That’s right. I said staging. On a mono speaker. That’s right. I stand by it. The wood is still solid eight years later but has darkened in tone a bit as wood can over time, and I like that. For the price listed here, it’s a steal. You won’t regret this purchase at all.

I installed this on a small shelf in a bathroom. The FM tuner does a nice job. Bluetooth works well, and is a very useful feature. I use it mostly to listen to news or talk radio, and it sounded a bit boomy, so a cotton ball in the bottom port solved that issue. It looks and sounds great. TECH. STUFF: This is my third Model One. I’ve had another with Bluetooth on my kitchen table for a few years. I can connect to either radio with Bluetooth without a problem. I also have it connected to a Yagi antenna on an amplifier in my attic. This way, I’m able to pull in some desired distant stations. It sometimes overloads the tuner on the low end of the band. I can easily slide the switch on the back of the radio to disconnect the external antenna. My first Model One came before they added Bluetooth. It developed a scratchy tuning dial that became worse in time. I tried some potentiometer cleaner, rendering the radio as trash. No such problem on the newer units. I’ve noticed some changes in the electronics through all three of these, so maybe they’re constantly perfecting the unit.

I have been wanting the Tivoli Model One BT for a long time, and finally took the plunge. I love it! The simple design makes it look elegant, and the functionality makes it a great purchase. Bluetooth setup was a breeze, and the sound quality is amazing from such a small, monaural speaker.

I’ve had the radio for about 3 weeks now, and have used it almost every day. — Radio feels sturdy and well-constructed. — Appearance: I like that it has a smaller footprint than other similar radios (e.g. Sangean); I wouldn’t want anything any bigger than this. It is attractive — clean/modern-looking, while still having a warmer, more traditional look (i.e. not industrial or space-agey, which I feel tends to start looking outdated relatively quickly). I wanted “retro” functionality (i.e. tuning knobs, analog, etc.), but not necessarily an all out retro look. This radio achieves just that. The black radio comes with a white power cord, which looks a little hokey (compared to black body + black cord), but I guess the white does blend in better with the wall. — Tuning and volume knobs are responsive and easy to adjust. Very simple and intuitive to use. — Bluetooth works well, as far as I can tell — no buzzing like some other reviewers experienced (I have connected from across the room, and from another room in my 700 sq. foot apartment). I have successfully paired an old 2009 Macbook Pro, a first generation iPad air that is a couple updates behind, and a 2014 Macbook Pro. For the 2014 Macbook, I did have some issues initially (the computer could not even detect the radio), but I figured it was the computer itself since my other electronics were able to find/pair with the radio just fine. To fix the issue, I restarted the computer, and held down the control/command/R/P keys…
