I just installed Lenny -> Sid and am trying to get my bluetooth mouse working. The problem I am having is that the bluetooth applet in gnome is missing all the services in the Services tab. Anyone know why this list might be empty?

I have the same issue. — Nothing listed in the services tab.
My usb adapter is a kensington
lsusb shows: Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)
hcitool dev shows:
Devices:
hci0 00:1B:DC:0F:9C:1F
After adding bluez-audio via synaptic, I now have Audio Service in the services tab.
I have bluez-gnome bluez-utils gnome-vfs-obexftp libbluetooth2 installed among others.
I can connect to my Moto V3c and Samsung Hue and transfer files, but I would like to use my Hue as a modem and I am unable to without serial capabilities.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I solved the problem by installing bluez-utils from experimental. Apparently the lenny version was compiled without these services enabled?.
Missing services

I have the latest of bluez-gnome, bluez-utils, gnome-vfs-obex, bluez-audio from the experimental repository.
Output of «lsusb | grep Blue;hcitool dev» reports:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a5c:2101 Broadcom Corp. A-Link BlueUsbA2 Bluetooth
Devices: hci0 00:02:72:CA:94:8A
I have been able to pair with my Jabra BT2040, but it doesn’t list under the audio devices. also, there’s missing services..
Screenshots of System | Preferences | Bluetooth shows:
UPDATE: I didn’t realize I had to install from the experimental repositories with «apt-get -t experimental install bluez-utils» instead of the usual apt-get install. The other missing services (network, input, serial) are now there. Unfortunately I still don’t see the Audio device under the Audio service.
UPDATE 2: I don’t quite understand this part. but, after I pair the headset and connect it, it shows connected in the main bluetooth applet preferences tab. However, the Audio Device in the Audio Service tab is still missing. So, if I then run /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart, I magically see the Jabra BT 2040 under Audio Devices in the Audio Services tab. However, on going back to the main tab it shows that it is no longer connected. If I hit the connect button on the headset it beeps then shows up as connected—and as an Audio Device (I would have expected this to happen without needing to restart the bluetooth service). What is going on here? What am I doing wrong?
Also, I have been able to intermittently get audio playback using gmplayer with the bluetooth alsa device. I’ve also tried aplay -Dplug:bluetooth test.wav and get the same result. Basically, the application just hangs as it starts up. I just don’t understand the combinations of actions that gets it working.
