Ubuntu. Установка браузера Opera

Opera — один из наиболее популярных кросс-платформенных браузеров в мире. Это быстрый, легкий в использовании и безопасный браузер для работы в реалиях современного интернета.

Опера построена на движке Chromium, как и браузер Google Chrome. Благодаря такому «родству» в Opera можно даже использовать расширения (но не темы и не приложения) из магазина Chrome.

Поскольку Opera не является open-source проектом, она не включена в стандартные репозитории Ubuntu.

В этой статье будет рассмотрен процесс установки браузера Opera на Ubuntu 18.04. Те же инструкции справедливы для Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 19.04 и других дистрибутивов на основе Debian, включая Linux Mint и Elementary OS.

Установка Opera в Ubuntu

Установка браузера Opera в Ubuntu — довольно простой процесс и займет буквально несколько минут.

Для установки пакетов в Ubuntu требуются sudo права.

Для начала нужно открыть терминал и импортировать ключ от репозитория Opera при помощи wget:

wget -qO- https://deb.opera.com/archive.key | sudo apt-key add -

echo deb https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/ stable non-free | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera.list

sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install opera-stable

На этом процесс установки завершен.

Запуск Opera

После установки можно запустить браузер, введя в консоли opera, либо щелкнув на соответствующий ярлык в меню.

Обновление Opera

При выходе новой версии браузера можно будет обновить пакет Opera через стандартный менеджер обновлений в Ubuntu, либо при помощи консольных команд:

sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Удаление Opera

Для удаления браузера Opera из системы достаточно просто удалить пакет приложения. Также стоит удалить установленный репозиторий, чтобы не опрашивать его каждый раз при поиске и установке обновлений для других программ:

sudo apt remove --auto-remove opera-stable sudo rm -f /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera.list

Заключение

При помощи описанных выше простых действий можно установить браузер Opera на любой компьютер под управлением Ubuntu или Debian.

Если ранее использовался другой браузер (Chrome или Firefox), то есть возможность импортировать настройки и закладки оттуда.

Удалить opera linux mint

Для теста одного сайта понадобилось поставить ещё один браузер, кроме регулярно используемой Лисы. Когда захотел его удалить, консоль выдала вот что:

$ sudo apt-get purge opera При этом Opera открывается из консоли и по ярлыку из недавно использованных приложений. Как её удалить окончательно и бесповоротно? Перемещено leave из linux-install

Значит оно называется как-то по другому. Попробуйте установить synaptic, если он не установлен, и воспользуйтесь поиском по пакетам и там уже вы и удалите оперу. dpkg -l | grep opera А ты как её устанавливал?

apt-cache search opera И кидай сюда вывод. лол, а Tab нажать после opera не судьба? Пакет называется opera-stable, если ты конечно не бетку/дев версию ставил. Вариантов куча. Имя процесса просто отличное от опера. Запусти top, да глянь, как оно зовется.

Да никакой, просто вариант решения. Вариант решения чего? Мы с тобой на разных волнах :). Я про вариант решения, как ТС можно удалить оперу.

Ты хотел предложить спросить пакетный менеджер кому принадлежит висящий в процессах файл запущенного приложения? Не спрашивай почему, но в убунте 5 видов пакета с этим браузером: opera, opera-beta, opera-developer, opera-next, opera-stable. Первая это последняя стабильная на старом движке, вторая — бета на новом движке, третия — версия для разрабов на новом движке, 4 — последняя версия на старом движке, 5 — текущая версия на новом движке, именно она у тебя и стоит.

Да ладно! Убунта еще не настолько скурвилась, чтоб несвободные браузеры поставлять. По умолчанию их и вовсе нет, но когда ты ставишь Opera на компьютер, она добавляет свои репозитории, где они есть. Источник

The most recent version is called opera-stable_(version number here)_amd64.deb. This is most likely the same type of file I installed the browser from initially. I later found out that they track their users via a unique ID (see https://www.opera.com/privacy), and now I want to get rid of the browser; completely.

The problem with this is that I don’t know all the things the .deb file did when I installed it. The most likely candidates I can think of are the installation of a package and the addition of certain entries to my software sources. What else might it have done, and how can I get rid of everything?

You can either do that from the terminal with command rm -vrf / /opera or in your file manager. In your file manager press Ctrl+H to toggle showing hidden files (or do same through its View menu) which makes the .cache and .config directories visible. Then go into those directories and delete the opera directory there.

In fact dpkg is safer than apt / apt-get as far as dependencies go, because dpkg will refuse to remove a package that others depend on, whereas apt and apt-get will offer to automatically remove those other packages as well (you’ll still be asked for confirmation but that’s all). The actual difference between the commands you listed is that dpkg -r just instructs a removal — remove installation files but keep system configuration data — whereas the other two instructed a purge — remove installation files and associated system configuration data. The dpkg equivalent would be dpkg -P or dpkg —purge .

So you can really use all of the commands. My personal preference is apt because it’s shortest and needs no sudo prefix. So I’d do:

For some reason, apt-get didn’t prompt me to confirm that packages that were no longer required (I assume Opera depended on those packages) would be removed. apt-get did tell me, however, that I could run apt-get autoremove to get rid of them, which I did. The messy part was the follow-up. After using autoremove on the dependencies, I then purged the dependencies as well. Hopefully this got rid of everything. Yeah, I know. I’m not pleased that Opera is pulling these antics. They never even provided a link to their privacy policy during the installation process, or I would have stopped the installation right there. I found out about the unique ID by chance when I stumbled across their privacy policy months later. They never even clarified whether the privacy policy applied only to certain operating systems, so I assumed it applied to everyone, including Linux users.

Since you mentioned the command apt purge —autoremove packagename , I was wondering if the purge applies only to packagename or to the autoremoved packages as well? By autoremoved packages, I mean the packages that packagename depended on but are no longer necessary because packagename is getting removed.

Удалить opera linux mint

Братцы линуксоиды, выручайте.
Поставил в Ubuntu 8.10 из deb-пакета Opera 9.64. Нужда была Так эта
по системе свои папки разбросала. А я на этой убунте только 2-ю неделю. Вот
теперь не знаю как эту гадость удалить Смотрел в установке/удалениии —
там ее нет. Смотрел в Synaptic — тоже нет. Пробовал через консоль по всякому,
но чёт не получается Подскажите как от оперы избавиться. Пжалста. Продам: совесть, ответственность, вежливость, воспитанность. Недорого.

Смотрел в Synaptic — тоже нет. Есть. Она должна быть в списке пакетов, установленных вручную. А вообще попробуйте набрать в консоли: sudo apt-get remove opera.

How can I uninstall Opera from Xubuntu?

I have downloaded opera from the website (deb package) and installed it. Now I want to remove it but I don’t know how. I tried sudo apt-get remove opera but it didn’t work.

@Thomas W.’s answer didn’t work for me on Ubuntu 14.04. I had to use:

And to remove the apt sources file added by Opera:

sudo rm -f /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera-stable.list 

What about /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera-stable.list.save file? Should I remove that also? Isn’t there a command that remove all files related to the application, for example sudo apt purge?

When you install via the downloaded .deb binaries/installer and not the opera repository for Opera, then it was installed with dpkg , and not apt-get .

Try using sudo dpkg —remove opera or sudo dpkg -r opera to remove it.

sudo apt-get remove --purge opera-stable 

Although this is not the same as that earlier answer, since this also removes conffiles (due to —purge ), it’s not obvious how the difference is important or why this approach is more likely to help, or otherwise better, than that one. You may want to edit this to clarify that.

to find out proper package name. For me opera-stable then

sudo apt-get remove opera-stable
