When I try and install the Bluetooth drivers it appears to succeed but when checking device manager I shows an exclamation mark next to the device with the following status.
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

Has anyone found a solution for this yet?
I’m still having the issue and I’m wondering if it is a Broadcom issue, because I recently had to downgrade the Bluetooth drivers for my onboard Bluetooth because of the same issue.

Is this to do with the Lighthouse? If so, I am also having the same issue. Seems to be an update pops up (just for one of the Lighthouses) and tries to update through bluetooth and fails than I retry and it’s successful but it is way too fast for it to have worked. It’ll pop up again and do the same thing each time. I managed to manually update it and things improved drastically but after restarting Steam VR it reverted back to its old state.

the bluetooth driver SteamVR is pushing is GARBAGE! it’s not signed, brings down the bluetooth connection to the lighthouses and kills phone connectivity.
What you need to do is uninstall/reinstall the vive setup software. It’ll install the right bluetooth driver from HTC during the setup process.
Unplug the VIVE (power and usb).
Download usbdeview.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview.zip 32-bit
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usbdeview-x64.zip 64-bit
Run it and uninstall everything that isn’t plugged in.
Download Vive Setup.
https://www.vive.com/us/setup/
Make sure you go into programs and features and uninstall it prior to reinstalling.
You don’t need to uninstall steam or steamvr, exiting steam wouldn’t hurt though.
Run Vive Setup and plug everything in when it tells you to.
Hope that fixes everything. Worked for me. Steam support wasn’t much help. Must have reinstalled their faulty driver a hundred times. or more. good luck!

The «BCM20703 Bluetooth 4.1 USB Device» won’t function on Windows 11 with Core Isolation / Memory integrity enabled.
This is due to the file «btwusb.sys» most likely not been digitally signed?
Is there any way around installing this driver or using something else? I have bluetooth running on the PC just fine. It’s only when the HTC Vive Linkbox is enabled, that bluetooth fails.
Have a HTC Vive Pro Full Kit with version 1.0 controllers and base stations.
Using Windows 11 Pro — 64 bit (21H2)

«A security setting is preventing this driver from loading»
I know for a fact it would be due to the «Core Isolation / Memory integrity» of Windows 11. However is that the latest version? Or could you use the motherboard bluetooth instead of the linkbox’s bluetooth to connect HTC Vive’s controllers and base stations?
I uninstalled the driver and tried.

Manually adding the driver and it worked. It showed «BCM20703 Bluetooth 4.1 USB Device» as valid. Yet under SteamVR, it claimed it was out-of-date and needs to be updated, which reinstalls the problem driver again, version 12.0.1.1050.
EDIT: Scratch that, the older driver doesn’t work either anyways. With the message «This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) The requested operation was unsuccessful.»

1) Go into device manager on your OS and make sure all Bluetooth Devices are all removed. If it’s using Windows for Bluetooth it’s not going to work. Some motherboards may need the bluetooth interface disabled in the BIOS settings.
2) Start Steam VR software.
3) Click on SteamVR drop down menu and select settings.
4) Click on install Bluetooth driver. Finish the installation.
5) Go to device manager and your Bluetooth Devices should only show

6) Reboot your PC
7) Start Steam VR software
8) Click on SteamVR drop down menu and select settings. Click on «Enable Bluetooth communication» and «Put Base Station in Standby mode when VR is not in use.»
9) Pull out power from base stations and then re-connect power.
10) Click on SteamVR drop down menu and select devices «Reboot Vive headset»
You can either try to test right away or do another reboot just to get the OS clean.
Now your base stations and everything should shutdown when VR is not in use. They should start up once the Steam VR software starts. You may get some messages for things not working when starting Steam VR because it takes a few moments for the base stations to either shutdown or start back up.
Note: When the base stations are up they will show green and orange LEDs on them. When they go to sleep it will should show just one green light and no longer be able to hear them.
Should be good to go. This frustraited me for a long time but it’s working for me now.
