Hands-Free Calling and Audio Streaming

Stay safe and obey local hands-free laws with built-in Bluetooth (HFP). Easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the MVH-S420BT without having to go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units.

From hands-free calling, wireless audio streaming (A2DP) with artist, album, and song search*, simple pairing, and control audio (AVRCP profile), Bluetooth® wireless technology has made life in the vehicle much more convenient.

The MVH-S420BT with Bluetooth also includes superior call quality reception using Wideband Speech Handsfree Profile 1.6. Wideband Speech nearly doubles the bandwidth of frequencies of a normal Bluetooth call (when compared to calls without Wideband Speech)**.

Other features include the ability to browse music libraries on smartphones wirelessly.

Smartphone Control

Access music on your smartphone directly from the Pioneer receiver. Search for Artist, Albums and Songs using Pioneer’s intuitive interface. With Pioneer receivers you can also access and control select music and radio apps on your smartphone.

AOA 2.0 Support for Android™

AOA 2.0 enables Android owners to play music streaming apps and control basic functionality, Play/Pause and Skip Song, using the buttons of the receiver. The new feature requires the Android device to be running Android 4.1 or newer and be plugged into the receiver via the USB connection on the front of the unit.

Android Music Support

Users of devices running Android OS version 4.0 or later can connect to the MVH-S420BT and listen to music stored on the device without the need for an app. The process is made possible using Media Transfer Protocol (MTP), which allows the receiver to recognize the Android smartphone as a music storage device. Operate basic functions like FF, REW, Play, Pause, Random Play, and Repeat and view Metadata information such as track, artist, and album name.

MIXTRAX ® is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a nonstop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. Drawing from Pioneer’s rich DJ heritage and our passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to those in the car. MIXTRAX takes the music from an iPhone, or USB device, and plays it back with added transitions and effects, creating a virtual DJ inside the Pioneer receiver.

MIXTRAX makes automatic remixing of tracks extra quick and easy. Simply connect your USB compatible device and listen as tracks are joined by various random sound effects in nonstop mix play to keep the groove going in full swing.

MIXTRAX also features club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. USB Auto Switch

The receiver also includes the USB Auto Switch feature so when the phone is connected via USB the listener has the option to choose whether the receiver uses the phone as a source, or just charges the device.

FLAC Codec Support

Pioneer Car Stereo Receivers upgrade in-car audio with amazing sound reproduction with their ability to play FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) files, which are 50-60% smaller than WAV files yet retain the integrity of the original sound sources. FLAC playback at up to 44.1khz sampling frequency and 16-bit bitrate for files stored on a USB thumb drive.

BLUETOOTH® WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY FOR «WIRELESS AUDIO» CONTROL AND STREAMING

When you’re not utilizing hands-free calling, the FH-P8000BT can use Bluetooth® wireless technology to feed your appetite for entertainment. Using «wireless audio» control and streaming (AVRCP, A2DP), you can control and listen to a compatible audio player or music phone on the receiver.

USB DIRECT CONTROL FOR IPOD®

The FH-P8000BT is ready to roll with capability for direct connection to your iPod® . USB 2.0’s speed and capability allow an elevated iPod® experience in the car, and nearly limitless expandability for portable media players and USB memory devices.

File search and access are extra-quick. The receiver keeps song, artist, time and album information displays very clear and user-friendly, and control is intuitive through the 7-Way Rotary Commander. The system’s wired USB connection provides direct digital signal transfer from the iPod® for clean, clear sound. In addition, Pioneer has developed the following new features to make using your iPod® in the car extremely easy and convenient:

• Alphabetical Speed Search: When searching for artist/album, you can initiate alphabet search by pressing «List» button.
• Link Search: While listening to a specific artist you can hold «List» button down and it will pop up folders containing that specific artist.
• Passenger Control Mode: Allows passenger to use the iPod® directly to browse and select music, while connected to the receiver for playback.
• Random (Shuffle) Key: Random button key on faceplate (Shuffle) makes it easy to hear something fresh.

Hear the detail, warmth and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3, WMA and AAC files stored on USB memory device, iPod® and portable digital players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tend to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer’s Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies.

What comes included with the FH-P8000BT

NOTE: Do not use your Pioneer system if doing so will divert your attention in any way from the safe operation of your vehicle. Always observe safe driving rules. In some states certain operations of devices while driving may be illegal. Where such regulations apply, they must be obeyed.

Bluetooth functionality requires a Bluetooth-enabled Pioneer navigation system and a compatible Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. Certain Bluetooth features may not be supported by all compatible Bluetooth-enabled devices, and/or the functionality of such features may be limited in certain devices or by certain wireless carriers. Some Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones may not be fully compatible with (and certain features/functionality may be limited with) a Bluetooth-enabled Pioneer navigation system.

Not every USB device is compatible. Compatible with MSC (Mass Storage Class) and USB memory device only. Not compatible with DRM (Digital Rights Management) contents and MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) connection players. Unauthorized copying of music is strictly prohibited.

USB iPod Control on the FH-P8000BT is compatible with iPod® (5th generation or later/Firmware Version 1.2 or later/iPod nano Version 1.2 or later). A 3rd or 4th generation iPod® requires CD-IB100II. iPod and iTunes are trademarks of Apple Computer, Inc. registered in the U.S. and other countries.
