Ps vita bluetooth plugin

Hacking [Release] ds3vita — control your Vita using a DualShock 3

Joined Dec 25, 2011 Messages 212 Trophies 1 Age 27 Location Barcelona XP 1,284 Country

After some more reverse engineering to the Vita’s Bluetooth module, I’ve managed to get a DS3 connected. It’s in an early stage (the LEDs are not set yet, so they will continue to blink), and it could be somewhat buggy.

    Add ds3vita.skprx to taiHEN’s config (ux0:/tai/config.txt):

*KERNEL ux0:tai/ds3vita.skprx
  1. Download this tool (or this other one if you want to compile it yourself)
  2. Connect your DS3 to the PC and open the tool
  3. Introduce the Vita’s MAC address plus 1 to the tool (Settings -> System -> System information)
  1. Just press the PS button and it will connect to the Vita

Only the first time, to pair it. But if you then connect it to the PS3, you’ll have to pair it again.

I’m pretty sure it is, the Vita has a USB device API, so I don’t see why it shouldn’t. That’s a good idea and I’ll take a look at it myself, although I don’t have a PSTV.

Ok, this is good (because i cant turn on pc much or often in a day )
When you wrote ‘connect ds3 to pc’ you mean with usb cable, it is right?

Note: i ask, but anyway i’ll try by myself, if paired controller work in retroarch emulators; this is my goal

Exactly that’s what it means. And nope, there’s no need to go to Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth Devices

Ah ok, anyway seem dont work for me.
i have put plugins in tai folder, edited the config txt, reloaded the config.txt and then connect ds3 to pc, open the sixaxis pair tool, change the master with my vita mac + 1 (always in hex, right? because my mac end with XX:6A, so become XX:6B?) and obiouvsly after enabled the blutooth on psvita lol.
What i am doing wrong?

EDIT: nevermind, now works Anyway is normal or set-upped in retroarch l2 and r2 works as r1 and l1? Maybe if you teamup with libretro team you can make a RA cores with fully compatibility controllers with your plugin

Use bluetooth controllers on your Vita!

VitaControl aims to support a wide variety of bluetooth controllers on the PlayStation Vita, as well as making it easy to add support for new ones. Pull requests are welcome!

Automatic builds are provided via GitHub Actions; you can download the latest one from the releases page.

Place vitacontrol.skprx in the ur0:tai/ directory on your Vita. Open config.txt in the same folder and add ur0:tai/vitacontrol.skprx under the *KERNEL header. Reboot the Vita and pair your controllers through the Settings app!

  • Sony DualShock 3 Controller
  • Sony DualShock 4 Controller
  • Sony DualSense Controller
  • Microsoft Xbox One Controller
  • Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

If you want to compile VitaControl yourself, you’ll need to set up Vita SDK. The project uses CMake, so you can build it with the following command: mkdir -p build && cd build && cmake .. && make .

  • ds3vita and ds4vita by xerpi — The plugins that ds34vita is based on
  • ds34vita by MERLev — The plugin that this is based on
  • MissionControl by ndeadly — Inspiration for this project, and driver reference
  • SDL by libsdl-org — Another good driver reference

Basically just X1Vita but with 8bitdo vid, pid, & mappings.

Compatible 8bitdo controllers: Arcade Stick, Lite, Pro, Pro+, Pro 2, & Zero 2.

Enable the plugin:

    Add 8BitVita.skprx to taiHEN’s config (ux0:/tai/config.txt) or (ur0:/tai/config.txt):

*KERNEL ux0:tai/8BitVita.skprx

Using it for the first time (pairing the controller):

  1. Go to Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth Devices
  2. Turn on the controller in x-input mode, typically Start + X on most 8bitdo models (Except the Arcade Stick, Lite, and Pro 2).
  3. Put the controller into pairing mode by holding the Select button on most 8bitdo models (Unless it has a dedicated pairing button like the Arcade Stick, Lite, Pro, Pro+, and Pro 2), the led will blink rapidly or a pattern will begin flashing on the led’s.
  4. Select the controller name in the bluetooth devices list, the controller will then connect and be paired (You may get a message saying «Do you want to connect?» press ok).

Using it once paired (see above):

Note: This plugin is compatible with minivitaTV 😉 If you are using multiple controllers the controller ports will be set in the order you connect (if available), so first connection -> port 1 second connection -> port 2 (Maximum of two controllers can be used simultaneously).

Credit goes to M Ibrahim. Thanks to ShadowKnight1620 for testing.

ViXEn Vita

Vita X-input Enabler (ViXEn) is a kernel driver for the PS Vita that allows for the use of x-input gamepads, such as the Xbox 360 controller. This driver enables compatibility between the PS Vita and a wider range of gamepads, providing a more immersive gaming experience for users.

Note: xbox 360 wireless receiver takes over all 4 gamepad ports, so you can’t use wired and wireless gamepads simultaneously. For full list of supported devices see here.

Features

  • Support for up to 4 wired usb x-input devices, such as original xbox or ps3 devices, Logitech Rumblepad/DualAction and Playstation Classic controllers.
  • Support for up to 4 wireless Xbox 360 gamepads via 1 wired usb receiver.
  • Auto turn-off wireless controllers on suspend.

Installation

Read this carefully

There are two versions of the Vixen plugin: vixen.skprx and vixen_ds3.skprx. The latter version supports wired DS3-alike pads. If you decide to use the vixen_ds3.skprx plugin, you should ensure that it is the first plugin listed under *KERNEL. However, please note that if you use this version, you will not be able to pair wireless DS3 controllers via USB on PSTV. If you need to do so, you can temporarily comment out the plugin.

It’s worth mentioning that DS3 support is currently unstable. In short, if you’re not using anything that presents itself as DS3 (except for the wireless DS3 itself), it’s best to use the vixen.skprx version. Otherwise, you can try the vixen_ds3.skprx version.

Installing

Copy vixen.skprx or vixen_ds3.skprx into ur0:tai/ folder.

Add ur0:tai/vixen.skprx or ur0:tai/vixen_ds3.skprx line under *KERNEL in tai config then reboot.

For Vita you need usb Y-cable and external power. See this for example.

For pstv it is highly recommended to use usb-hub with external power for gamepads with force-feedback.

User guide

FAQ

Q. Does it support joycon, xbox one s, insert another wireless controller here?

No. It supports wired USB controllers only. And yes, Xbox 360 is also wired (because you need receiver).

Q. Can I connect mu Xbox 360 pad via charge’n’play?

No. Because it’s more charge than play. It doesn’t support data. You need wireless receiver.

Q, Does it support insert controller name here?

Currently it supports plenty of x-input devices and wired ds3 (or ds3 compatible), see here.

If your device isn’t in that list (or doesn’t present itself as ds3 or xbox360 pad), see this list. If it’s in the list — it is possible to add support for the device.

Q. Can I install it alongside another input plugin?

Generally that isn’t recommended. Most input plugins (ds34vita/VitaControl) hook same functions, conflicts will definitely arise.

Q. There’s no guide/home/ps button on my pad.

Use L+R+Start combo instead
