Setup WiFi on the Belkin F7D3302
The Belkin F7D3302 router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.
Wireless Name
Your wireless network needs to have a name to uniquely identify it from other wireless networks. If you are not sure what this means we have a guide explaining what a wireless name is that you can read for more information.

An important part of securing your wireless network is choosing a strong password.
Wireless Channel
Picking a WiFi channel is not always a simple task. Be sure to read about WiFi channels before making the choice.
Encryption
You should almost definitely pick WPA2 for your networks encryption. If you are unsure, be sure to read our WEP vs WPA guide first.
Login To The Belkin F7D3302
To get started configuring the Belkin F7D3302 WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Belkin F7D3302
If you followed our login guide above then you should see this screen.
To configure the WiFi settings on the Belkin F7D3302v1 router, you begin on the Status page. Look in the left sidebar of the page, and click the link titled Channel and SSID.
Change the WiFi Settings on the Belkin F7D3302
On this particular page, you need to check and change two things. The first is the Wireless Channel. Wireless networks are on the radio waves and the there is only room in the spectrum for up to three channels that don’t overlap one another. These channels are 1,6, and 11. Be sure you are one of these three channels. For more information about this, look at our guide titled WiFi channels.
The other thing that should be changed when setting up your WiFi is the SSID. This is the name you give your wireless network so you can identify it later on. Don’t use any personal information here. Check out our guide titled Wireless names.
That’s it, just click the Apply Changes button when you are finished. Then, look to the left in the sidebar and click the link titled Security.
On this new page, you need to first change the Security Mode. This is important because you don’t want your information to be out on the airwaves without some sort of protection. The best choice is WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK). For more information on why this is the correct choice, check out our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.
Below that is the Authentication. This is narrowing down your security mode choice even further. If you read the WEP vs. WPA guide, you know that WPA2-PSK is the best choice here.
The Encryption Technique is next. It looks as if this is automatically chosen for you. If you are given a choice, pick AES. AES is considered very secure.
Lastly, you need to create a Pre-Shared Key (PSK). This is the password you use to access your network, it is also used in the Encryption Technique so it needs to strong. We recommend at least 20 characters. Try and avoid using personal information, this is easier to guess. Avoid using any words that can be found in a dictionary, these types of passwords can be cracked within a matter of minutes. We do recommend using some symbols, capital letters, and numbers. That’s it, simply click the Apply Changes before you exit.
Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
