SAP GUI for JAVA installation and configuration
Recently, I was doing some RnD on SAP GUI for JAVA, and thought to share some knowledge and experience on same.
As we know Microsoft Windows has dominated over the past decades in the field of desktop OS. We use this OS in our daily work in offices or in home. However Windows in not only the desktop OS on market, but also there are other OSes available such as Mac OS X, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Fedora etc. All these OSes are of Linux variants.
By looking into this SAP has developed SAP GUI for JAVA specially meant for Linux OS. However the best thing is, one can install in Windows OS also.
Before using SAP GUI for JAVA let me remind you that, there are few drawbacks or limitations assiciated with it. Such as below. For more details you can refer to SAP note 454939
- Office Integration with regard to embedding Office documents inside the SAP GUI screen or controling Office programs by automation is not supported (note 509690). However downloading and opening documents is possible, opening of course depends on the installed Office products on the client.
- Search help control is not supported (the old style F4 help window is used instead, offering the same functionality).
- Graphical Screen Painter is not available. The alphanumeric layout editor is supported.
- Front-End Printing needs to be done using access method ‘G’, the new printing architecture for all platforms supported by SAP GUI for Java.
- eCATT is not supported.
- Chart control : copy/paste is not available yet.
In this document I am going to demonstrate how to install and configure SAP GUI for JAVA 7.40 in Windows and Linux desktops.
Before installing, we need to download the installation files and manage some pre-requisites.
Pre-requisites are as follows
Hardware according to the requirements of the Linux/Windows distribution
RAM: 4GB recommended for better performance
Oracle Java SE 8 32- or 64-bit (update 40 or newer)
Visual C++ Libraries VS 2012 11.0.60610 (x86 resp. x86_x64) – for Windows
Supported Windows OS:
Windows 7 32- or 64-bit (Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise Edition)
Windows 8 32- or 64-bit (Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise Edition)
Windows 8.1 32- or 64-bit (Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise Edition)
Supported Linux distributions:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 and 12
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 and 12
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
A) Downloading required softwares from SMP.
- The latest version avaiable in SMP is SAP GUI for JAVA 7.40. Go to the link and click on “SAP GUI FOR JAVA”.
- Now click the link based on your OS
- Click on link with the latest patch (here patch 3). The patch files are cumulative in nature. This will download the installation files.
B) Installation Procedure in Linux OS
java -jar PlatinGUI—S.jar install
For uninstallation type the below command
java -jar PlatinGUI—S.jar uninstall
2. Go to the installation directory and type ./guilogon to open logon pad.
C) Installation Procedure in Windows OS
java -jar PlatinGUI—S.jar install
For uninstallation type the below command or run the uninstall.bat batch file present in installation directory
java -jar PlatinGUI—S.jar uninstall
2. Go to the installation directory and under bin directory run guilogon.bat to open logon pad or double click on the shortcut created.
D) Configuring for Connection settings (valid for Windows & Linux)
- On the logon pad click on new connection
- Give description and click on “Advanced” tab. Here we have to set the connection string.
- Check the “Expert Mode” and put the string in the following syntax
That’s it. All done.

Помогите установить Sap на Ubuntu linux кто имеет опыт в данной области
Здравия всем!
В кратце, на Ubuntu недавно сразу решил поставить 14 версию прям на работе и перевести некоторых работников на данную версию поскольку удобна красива и проста в обращении но возникла проблема. Я работаю на РЖД а у нас распространена программа SapLogon (документо оборот и финансовая, я в них плохо разбираюсь), почитав в инете как да что поставил на Ubuntu Java6 и 7 из репа после скачал файл с какогото из сайтов Sapgui-package_0.0.10_all http://pkgs.org/ubuntu-14.04/ubuntu-mul . l.deb.html и сам архив проги с рутракера http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3302007 все ставится весело все отлично но после установки прога незапускается, появляется приветственное окошко и все гаснет, помогите разобраться кто с java работал очень нужно, надоел этот виндовс хочу контору перевести на Ubuntu но все упирается в Sap. Заранее примного благодарен.
PS. Судя по видеоинструкции http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3vPpxxrkLo все должно работать как часы но почемуто незапускается.
Не знаю, как там в родных убунтах, но в Mint 16 Cinnamon, все отлично работает.

А там есть возможность запустить java control panel ? В advanced включить java console ? В общем, заставить как-то вывести текст ошибки. Быть может java не подходит..
Бывает из-за этого — нота 1918326, но там гуй запускается, но коннект не создать.

SAP GUI for Java 7.30rev4 displays the error message «Error in opening the connection dialog!» when pressing the «New» for creating a new or the «Edit» button for editing a connection. This happens on all platforms when there is no entry for «Routers» or «Messageservers» in its configuration or no included configuration file for routers and messageservers in the centrally-managed configuration.
This bug is fixed in versions later than SAP GUI for Java 7.30rev4.
For SAP GUI for Java 7.30rev4 following workaround can be used:
If you use a centrally managed configuration then make sure an entry for the routers and message servers does exist and point to an existing file. The file can be empty but the include statement must exist and point to a file, e.g. like this:
In the first line of this example the strings , and need to be adapted to your environment and the file empty_file.txt has to be created. The second line of the example uses a local file and requires adapting the strings and and maybe the folder separators depending on your platform.
If you do not use a centrally managed configuration then you will have to create an empty text file and enter the full path to that file into the «Routers» and the «Messageservers» text fields in SAP GUI for Java’s configuration. To do that open SAP GUI for Java’s «Preferences» dialog, navigate to section «Configuration» -> «Logon» and then enter the path into both the «Routers» and the «Messageservers» text fields.
Если уж прямо очень хочется и пользователей не жалко, то в SAP есть ITS, и практически весь функционал работает через браузер

Благодарствую за ответ щас буду пробовать ставить Минт 16 и поралельно sap its, но ссылка почемуто недействует http://sap-server.domain.local:8000/sap . its/webgui выкидывает сервер ненайден может изза фаерфокса?
И я так понимаю чтобы скачать файл SAP GUI for Java с http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-25456 нужно деньги платить?
( ошибаюсь, тороплюсь порой, на коленке приходится печатать )) )

Пытался скачать sap с оф сайта он запрашивает логин и пароль («https://websmp108.sap-ag.de» запрашивает имя пользователя и пароль. Сайт сообщает: «SAP Service Marketplace») хотя я и зарегестрировался но нужен еще какойто доступ да?
Скачал Mint 16 поставил его на виртуалку поверх поставил sapgui пакет из репы и сам PlatinGUILNX_4-10008929.JAR Sapgui 7.20 rv4 установился нормально но так после запуска и не появляется, картинка загрузки появляется на несколько секунд и изчезает, подскажите где можно другие версии Sapgui достать а то я так понимаю на оф сайтах там все за деньги.

Нужна всего лишь Java, openJDK вполне себе работает, какие ещё пакеты из репа? Зачем? Там обычная Java.
В РЖД нет доступа к маркетплейсу с лицензионным SAP? «Не верю»(С) Станиславский.
Базисника попросите скачать последний пакет.

Может быть припозднился, но OpenJDK работает очень криво с гуями platin которые.
Качайте с оракла, пишите JAVA_HOME.
И, да, если в конторе пользуется PDF c полями для ввода «буковок» (забыл как грамотно зовется) — линукс не вариант. Не работает

А может наоборот platinGUI 7.20 криво работает? Я же запостил скрин, с какой версией все работает боле-менее стабильно.
