Can’t connect PS3 controller using Bluetooth #549

Can’t connect PS3 controller using Bluetooth #549

Comments

I’m using Windows 10 x64 version 1607 (build 14393.576) and latest beta release (v1.7.277.16103-BETA). After following all installation steeps I can only connect my PS3 controller using USB.

I have an Atheros AR3012 (USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3004) Bluetooth device, that is listed in the compatible Bluetooth devices list.

I used to be able to connect using Bluetooth in Win8 and old ScarletCrush SCP, but now I can’t anymore.

Logs generated using ScpDebugInfoCollector.exe here.

Hi I don’t know how late I am to this topic, but I’m having a very similar issue. I’ve already tried with two different dongles, one with the driver provided by Zadig, the other with the scp driver installer. With both I can get the controller recognized but not working once I disconnect it and try to go by bluetooth. It is a ps3 move nunchuck controller, not the main controller but I’ve already had it working in my win8 pc, it’s the win10 one the one giving me issues.
Have also noticed that the scp pair tool doesn’t always displays anything, similarly the SCP monitor either.

This is probably pretty obvious but just in case (cause this happened to me): Make sure to unplug your PS3/PS4, cause the BT range can be long sometimes and your controller might still be trying to pair with your Playstation. Couldn’t get this working at all until I went downstairs and noticed my Playstation3 was on. As soon as I unplugged it, problem went away.

«Fake» DS3 detected; Genuine Sony DS3 detected; no Bluetooth #299

«Fake» DS3 detected; Genuine Sony DS3 detected; no Bluetooth #299

Comments

First and foremost, this isn’t my first rodeo and it seems like I’m doing everything I’ve always done to get this working.

I have 3 PS3 controllers, and all 3 were purchased from local places like Walmart, EBGames and Superstore.

I can get all 3 controllers to work while plugged in by USB. Only 1 of the 3 seems to work using Bluetooth. The other two make the «sound» that they’ve connected over Bluetooth, but when looking at monitor (legacy through SCP Toolkit) I see their Bluetooth address as 00000000 yet the indicator messages say either «Fake DS3 detected» and the other says «Genuine DS3 detected»

The one that works, I only see SIXAXIS written on the device and its model number is: CECHZC1U

The other two, the one that says «Fake» has both SIXAXIS and DUALSHOCK 3 written on it and its model number is: CECHZC2U and in small lettering just beside it, A1

The one that says «Genuine» has both SIXAXIS and DUALSHOCK 3 written on it and its model number is: CECHZC2U

I also noticed that on the «fake» one, when I unplug it from USB it doesn’t «flash» and try to connect by Bluetooth, I have to press the PS button. The «genuine» one works as expected; unplug from USB and it tries (but fails) to connect via bluetooth.

I’m not certain what I can do to provide more information in order to get more help, but again, I am certain all my PS3 controllers were purchased by legitimate stores and would expect the controllers to be legitimate as well.

Thanks for any advice and I will provide whatever is required to help troubleshoot this problem further.

bluetooth not working even though the controller «connects to it» #153

hey having problem to get the controller to work via bluetooth.
have installed the dirver while the controller and the dongle both plugged in,the scp monitor shows host address,in devices and printeres the bluetooth listed as BTH DS3 device.
when i turn the controller on wirelessly a message pops up saying plugged in port#1 on virtual bus and the monitor says bluetooth 000000 none on pad 1 but the controller still keeps blinking and gets turned off after a while.
anyone has any clue about how to fix it?
Edit:running a fake ds3 and win7

i have exactly the same issue with ds3, and i have asus bt400 which is officially supported by scp and has EDR for sure

from installation logs my dongle was still not detected, there was no bt logs like in this pic http://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=47326 but my device was detected in scpmonitor

on side note: for pairing ive used http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/tool.html. if you have already paired device put some random address and update then put again valid address of dongle, that should update it. dunno which step actually helped here but now its working

//edit
after more testing looks like im forced to use old version + zadig because new version is not compatible with it, no need to use sixaxispairtool

I have had this issue since the last 2 or 3 releases. The previous release worked flawlessly, I was able to use Bluetooth no problem. Is there a way to download previous versions of this tool?

I install everything correctly, and even restart. The LED says connected to port 1, and it triggers the connection sound when powered wirelessly. The problem is that it doesn’t seem to work in games. Not even wired.

gawron89 friend works without problem

I have to reply to this topic even tho its old. I just have to.
I’ve been killing myself to make my controller work with bluetooth and just couldnt do it.
First I tried to do it on the Windows 10 and gave up after of literal days of tries. But now I reinstalled Windows 7 (for fun) and later I came across the PS3 controller I bought from some guy for 5$, it had a busted usb port and I’ve re-soldered a new one (got 15 female usb connectors off aliexpress for less than a buck!), so I decided to try again.
And as the last time, I’ve been trying to make it work for a couple of hours until I came across this topic and the fella up there, @war1ox, saying v1.6.133.15324 works. Had nothing to lose, gave it a try.
.
It f#$king does work. IT F#$KING WORKS!
I didnt do a damn thing! Just installed it and worked out of the box!
-btw: I have a legit sixaxis PS3 controller and a bt dongle CSR8510 A10 (VID_0A12&PID_0001); Windows 7 also (I dont think it matters, but just putting it in here)

Bluetooth not working after restart. #51

Bluetooth not working after restart. #51

Comments

After drivers installation I can play with my ds3 via bluetooth, HCI version in scp monitor is 6.xxx. If I restart my computer it is 5.xxx and I cannot connect the pad with bt, but it still works fine with wire. To connect it again I have to uninstall drivers (I do it manually) and install them again.

When I set led status in scptoolkit hci again revrted back from hci 6.0102 to 5.0102

ok, so i had this same problem and after a few days heres what finally got it to work for me(win 10 x64).

/1. navigate to C:\Program Files\Nefarius Software Solutions\ScpToolkit , right click>properties>compatibility> run as administrator check box , for each of the following
-scpdriverinstaller
-scpmonitor
-scppair
-scpservice
-scpsettings

/2. with controller connected via usb open device manager. under libusbk usb devices
-right click>uninstall> delete driver software for device.> ok , for
-bluetooth module
-playstation controller

/3. run scp toolkit settings manager
-under service settings unselect all options

/4. open device manager and make sure the original drivers installed for bluetooth and controller

/5.
a. if no. uninstall drivers again until you get original drivers
b. if yes. run scptoolkit driver installer.
-select server, Bluetooth, controller and then install

/6. run scp toolkit settings manager
-under service settings select bluetooth driver

your controller should currently connect via bluetooth and recontect after restart. this worked for me, hopefully it worked for you. it was a terrible work around but it did work
