Description

Our LM048 Bluetooth® Serial Adapter uses a CSR IC which runs LM’s own AT Command firmware, enabling connection to other Bluetooth® devices. The Bluetooth® Serial Adapter has been certified to use the Bluetooth® v2.1 + EDR or v2.0 + EDR. The firmware within the LM048 Bluetooth® Serial Adapter allows all of the known serial configurations to be used and it’s this flexibility that has enabled LM to patent it’s firmware. The AT command firmware which controls the RS232 signals (DTR, DSR, RTS, CTS) for line handling (which offers the full range of serial combinations) is easily configured by using the adapters slide-switch, on the top of the adapter. Our LM149 Configuration Software allows users to adjust various serial settings such as flow control, stop bits etc. It also enables users to update the device name and turn on or off Bluetooth® functions such as Auto Connect or Bluetooth® discoverable features. Please see the Software Tab above to download the correct Configuration Software version LM Technologies has built such applications within Android, Blackberry, Windows, macOS platforms, which enable the LM048 a range of smart phone solutions. These solutions can be developed for your own application free of charge by LM Technologies, when volumes in excess of 1000 pieces per annum are requested. The LM048 Bluetooth® RS232 adapter has been certified in the following countries; FCC USA, R&TTE CE EU, ANATEL Brazil, TELEC Japan, KCC Korea, SRRC China, WPC India, IC Canada, Singapore, Israel, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. It has also met the industry standards that need specialist certification which are: Automotive 2004/104/EC, EMC and SIG BQB Certifications. The LM048 Bluetooth serial adapter is widely used within the serial printer market and the LM048’s have gained approval from many POS / EPOS industry manufacturers: Star Micronics, Epson, SNBC, Orient, Toshiba and Sharp.

Description

The LM068 is the world’s smallest Bluetooth® 5.0 serial adapter (RS232), providing a secure and reliable Bluetooth® 5.0 connection. Designed to replace RS232 cables between a master (DTE) device and slave (DCE) devices such as printers, data loggers and digital signalling devices. This standalone adapter incorporates a micro-controller unit with an 8 Mbit flash memory for running the application. The firmware controls the RS232 signals, including DTR / DSR handshaking and RTS / CTS flow control lines. The AT Command set is used to change the configurations, plus the developer can also configure and modify the settings of a remote LM068 from a local LM068. Customised configurations and settings can be preloaded to the LM068, simplifying the manufacturing and testing process. We also offer Bluetooth® Dual Mode applications, which can be customised to your specification. The module can be used as a bridge between Bluetooth® 5.0 and is backward compatible with 2.0, v2.1 and Bluetooth® v4.0, v4.1 devices, using our SPP to Serial Bridge application. We also offer SPP with GAP Central and SPP or GAP Peripheral applications.

BT578 Serial Bluetooth adapter is usually connected to a serial device by DB9 serial port, and then communicates with a mobile phone or a computer via Bluetooth SPP or BLE , it can eliminate your conventional RS232 serial cables, connects communication both sides over the air, provides a wireless serial connection with more freedom and convenience.

A1: The BT578V2 is upgraded from the old product, and can replace the old BT578, but it is still somewhat different from the old one.1. On the basis of retaining the function of Bluetooth SPP, the new model adds support for the new generation Bluetooth BLE.
2. The new model no longer provides the function of using as a Bluetooth Master, and can only be used as a Bluetooth Slave. For customers who need to use Bluetooth master-slave pair, please buy IRXON BT580 serial Bluetooth adapter.
3. The stop bit of BT578V2 serial port parameter is fixed to 1 bit and cannot be changed by AT command.
4. The green LED act as serial TX/RX data indicator on BT578V2, user can observe the activity of the serial data through the indicator light.
5. The format of AT command has been adjusted, there is no need to append a return and line feed at the end of AT command in BT578V2. In addition, the AT command to modify the baud rate, the old format is «AT+UART», the format becomes «AT+BAUD» in BT578V2.
6. The communication distance of BT578V2 is several times farther than the old one.

Q2: I am trying to configure the adapter to change the BAUD rate. I downloaded your android app. I successfully connected to the BT578_BLE on the app. However, when I send a AT command there is no reply. When I look at the adapter, the power light is on, the Bluetooth light is solid once I connect to the app. When I send a AT command the Serial Data Activity LED briefly flashes and then turns off. I have tried to send the AT commands while pressing and holding the AT command button but I get no reply. Could you please advise?

A2: BT578V2 does not support AT command via Bluetooth wireless connection, you have to send AT command via RS232 physical connection. You must connect BT578V2 to a serial port of your computer to send AT command. If your PC does not have a serial port, please buy a USB-RS232 cable to add a physical COM port to your computer.
