Про MacBook Air 2013 года и проблемы с Wi-Fi

Любому новому продукту Apple гарантировано пристальное внимание, причём журналисты обращают внимание не только на достоинства, но прежде всего на недостатки и проблемы. MacBook Air 2013 года не стал исключением, для него уже нашёлся главный источник проблем и негатива — Wi-Fi. C беспроводными сетями у новых Air не всё гладко: одни покупатели жалуются на то, что соединение с Wi-Fi нестабильно, а другие, те, кому повезло больше, сталкиваются с тем, что скорость передачи данных по Wi-Fi на MacBook Air в OS X втрое ниже, чем в Windows.

Скорее всего, проблема с подключением к сетям носит аппаратный характер, и обновлением драйверов дело вряд ли обойдётся. Тем не менее, до выяснения всех причин сотрудникам Apple Store и сервисных центров Apple дано указание менять проблемные MacBook Air на новые.

Что касается скорости передачи данных по Wi-Fi, тут всё ещё интереснее. То ли из-за недоработанных драйверов, то ли из-за банальной халатности сборка OS X 10.8.4, с которой поставляются MacBook Air 2013 года, не может обеспечить заявленную скорость Wi-Fi в режиме 802.11ac. Максимум, что можно выжать из 802.11ac — порядка 22 МБ/с (т.е. около 176 Мбит/с). Виновата исключительно OS X, потому что в Boot Camp скорость возрастает сразу на 218%.

Пока Apple не выпустит заплатку для OS X, тем, кто раскошелился на новый MacBook и совместимый 802.11ac-роутер, придётся смириться с низкими скоростями Wi-Fi… или пользоваться Windows.
