What is a Bose Refurbished product?

Refurbished products are a great way to enjoy Bose performance at an outstanding value. A Refurbished product is one that’s been returned to Bose, for any reason.

It’s then thoroughly inspected, tested and serviced to meet strict Bose sound quality standards—same as a new product. Appearance is closely examined; products occasionally have minor, nearly imperceptible blemishes. All Refurbished products have the same warranty as new products. And are available only from Bose. Quantities are limited.

What purpose do the voice prompts on the SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker II serve?

The voice prompts serve two key purposes. First, they provide guidance during the Bluetooth pairing and connection process so the customer understands how it works. Second, they identify the connected source devices by name, simplifying usage with more than one source device.

Is it possible to disable voice prompts on the SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker II?

Yes. Voice prompts can be disabled by simultaneously pressing the “+” (volume up) and “-” (volume down) buttons. We recommend leaving voice prompts enabled because of the additional functionality they provide.

The SoundLink Color II’s Bluetooth link is capable of stable operation at up to 30 ft (9 m). Performance can be affected by obstacles such as walls or metal, interference from Wi-Fi® or other wireless devices, and device manufacturers’ Bluetooth implementations.

The SoundLink Color II keeps track of the last eight devices to have paired and connected with it, dropping the least recently used when a new one is paired. When in Bluetooth mode, the SoundLink Color II searches for and connects to the two most recently connected active Bluetooth-enabled devices. It will only receive audio from one device at a time.

If you wish to connect to a previously paired device other than the one(s) already connected, press the Bluetooth button. Press once to identify the currently connected devices; press again (within three seconds) to search through other recently connected devices on the pairing list. If you wish to connect to a new device, press and hold the button until the indicator light blinks blue. If voice prompts have been disabled, the Bluetooth button will behave differently; one press will make the SoundLink Color II ready to pair.

What happens when my phone is streaming music to the SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker II and a call comes in?

When a call comes in, the audio on the SoundLink Color II will pause, and the call will ring through the speaker. If you wish to answer the call through the SoundLink Color II, simply press the multi-function button to answer the call. You can now talk into the speaker itself to conduct your phone call. Once you end your call, music playback will resume. Some details of this experience will vary depending on the implementation by the phone manufacturer.

What is the purpose of the multi-function button?

When in audio playback mode, the multi-function button allows for play (press), pause (press), track forward (double press) and track backwards (triple press). Pressing and holding the multi-function button will activate the voice control capabilities of your device (for voice dialing and access to Siri or Google Assistant). Pressing the multi-function button again will exit the voice control mode.

When there is an incoming call, pressing the multi-function button will answer the call, and pressing and holding it will reject the call. During an active call, pressing the multi-function button will end the call.

Battery performance varies with the content played and volume at which it is played. In typical usage, the SoundLink Color II battery lasts up to eight hours.

While not playing music, much of the SoundLink Color II battery’s charge can be recovered in 3 hours when using a USB power source of at least one amp of current. Charging from alternate USB power sources or when playing music may take longer.

However, the quality of the experience—specifically, synchronization between audio and video—can be influenced by the implementation of Bluetooth on the device, and the best performance will occur when wireless interference is minimized by keeping the SoundLink Color II and the device in close proximity, less than 6 ft (2 m), with no objects between them. Use of a Wi-Fi® network in the area may also affect performance.

Если SoundLink Mini сразу же вызывает уважение – все-таки металлический увесистый корпус, очень строго, минимализм, то при взгляде на SoundLink Color сразу же появляются мысли о кроссовках, спортивной форме, пробежках по утрам, игре в баcкетбол на площадке под эстакадой. Нельзя сказать, что это хорошо, нельзя сказать, что это плохо, просто сложилась вот такая ситуация. Тут нет металла, только пластик, цветов несколько: черный, синий, красный, мятный и белый. Хотите самую скучную колонку на свете – покупайте черный Soundlink Color, хотите что-то повеселей – выбирайте синюю или белую.

Корпус из пластика, спереди и сзади – перфорация, на торце – вставка из резины, сверху – тоже резина, кнопки и оформление очень сильно напоминают пульт ДУ для колонок Bose, приятно видеть такую преемственность. Во время прослушивания колонку нужно ставить вертикально, иначе вы закроете динамики. На задней части – открытые разъемы 3,5 мм для подключения аудиокабеля и microUSB для зарядки. К сборке никаких вопросов нет, разве что пластик мне показался уж слишком простым, можно ведь было использовать что-то с бархатистым покрытием. С другой стороны, такая пластмасса не изменится годами.

На официальном сайте написано, что поддерживается обновление ПО, но пока других версий я не обнаружил.

Управление

Все кнопки находятся на верхней части колонки: включение/выключение, кнопка активации Bluetooth, разъема AUX, есть кнопка начала и остановки воспроизведения, регулировки громкости. Во время зарядки над кнопкой включения горит световой индикатор, сделан очень красиво. Над Bluetooth мерцает яркая точка во время работы, после первого включения колонка сразу же готова к подключению к другим устройствам. В целом, с управлением разобраться очень просто, нажимать кнопки приятно, вопросов никаких нет.

Заявленное время работы составляет 8 часов в режиме воспроизведения музыки на полной громкости, для зарядки используется разъем microUSB, находится на задней части, рядом с разъемом 3,5 мм.

Если вы слушали SoundLink Mini, то представьте на секунду, что тот же звук раздается из другой колонки – может быть, она не так красива и не вызывает у вас тех же эмоций, но вы должны знать, что Color – одно из самых выдающихся устройств на рынке. Ее не зазорно использовать в офисе или в спортзале, она громкая, она не хрипит на максимальной громкости и легко заменит недорогую компьютерную акустику. Положите ее в сумку, и пусть она работает на улице – пока еще тепло, морозов Color не переживет. Если планируете отправиться куда-то на новогодние праздники компанией, тоже не забудьте про такое устройство.

В общем, в Bose сделали бюджетный вариант Mini – последняя может и звучит чуть лучше, зато стоит в два раза дороже.

Выводы

В Bose по-прежнему не хотят загружать свои устройства несколькими функциями, здесь нет микрофона, и ответить на вызов не удастся. Зато, повторюсь, тут есть отличное качество звука. Внешний вид простой, но все равно перед вами не безвестный рубаха-парень, а породистая и интересная вещь.

Не хочется говорить о политике, но если бы не скачки курса (вызванные понятно чем), это замечательное устройство стоило бы в России около 5 000 рублей, а то и меньше. И разлеталось бы как горячие пирожки, портативное аудио сейчас в фаворе, и точно бы нашлось много любителей качественного звука за небольшие деньги. Ну а сейчас колонка стоит около 7 000 рублей, и это совсем другой коленкор. Есть, скажем так, другие интересные гаджеты за сравнимые деньги. Но тем не менее, Bose Soundlink Color получилась хорошей – если соберетесь покупать маленькую колонку, обязательно послушайте ее. Рекомендую к покупке.
