Ubuntu on macbook no wifi

WiFi not working in Ubuntu20 on MacBookPro 13 (2020), dual booting, trinidad wifi drivers issue

Previously I installed Ubuntu from raw .iso but it has created too many problems with drivers:

While I was reading the article, I found mention about not working WiFi with MBP 16,1 (I was hoping on 16,2 is working). after Ubuntu installed I noticed WiFi problem (no adapters detected) — this is where hell began.

I tried several ways to solve this problem (mainly mentioned below) — unsuccessfully.

I found a few similar issues like my:

After moving drivers from MacOS to Ubuntu and configured followed by articles and people advices WiFi not working whole time. The last important log about wifi drivers from dmesg:

brcmf_pcie_download_fw_nvram: FW failed to initialize 

Can you help me with this issue?

No wifi on Macbook Pro?

I’ve just installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my Macbook Pro 13-inch (late 2011). How do I get the wireless working? It says «Missing firmware» under what I’d normally click to use the wifi. Also, are there any other drivers I’ll need to download? So far it looks as if everything is working fine (other than my wifi).

I’m not sure which drivers to download or where to download them from; could someone help? I’ve looked around on Google for awhile and haven’t found anything.

I used the following steps to get it working on my MBP:

There is no official support yet in Ubuntu 11.10, but you can get it working with the following repository:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mpodroid/mactel
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter firmware-b43-installer
Then install the linux-backports-modules-cw-3.2-oneiric-generic or, if you have the pae kernel installed, the linux-backports-modules-cw-3.2-oneiric-generic-pae package.

Edit the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf and add the line:

blacklist ndiswrapper
Create or edit the file /etc/pm/config.d/modules and make sure the wireless modules (b43 and bcma) are blacklisted:

SUSPEND_MODULES=»b43 bcma»
Reboot and the wireless should work.

I installed Ubuntu 18.04 on an old MacBook Pro 7,1 (Intel Core 2 Duo, 2010) and I don’t have a Mac OS to return to (single boot [=). Wifi hardware was not detected and after a lot of work, I was able to install it, chasing down all the dependencies.
The two things I installed at first (along with dependencies, of course) were:
bcmwl-kernel-source
dkms

So now the Wifi hardware is there, but it doesn’t see any networks. Today, trying to solve this problem, I also installed this
b43-fwcutter

My Broadcom is 4322 (pci.id is 14e4:432b)

I know a lot of people with Macs and Broadcoms have these problems, and I read through a lot of them. Still, I post this because I see that the problems and the solutions often turn out to be too specific in one way or another. Right now I don’t remember everything I tried to fix this problem, but I guess the most important instructions (that led me to install those three things) are https://askubuntu.com/questions/5586. reless-drivers

EDIT: let me add that if I press and hold alt/option while booting, I get to this pre booting screen where WiFi works normally.

Not knowing or having a Mac so cannot tell how device names are named there. Here on PC hardware my (not Broadcom) WIFI hardware is named wlan0.

I would first look if the OS disabled the hardware using rfkill list. Unblock if it was. Then I would see what ifconfig says. If your device is listed. If not try also ifconfig -show. If it doesn’t show up I am stuck here as well. If it does show up try iwlist scan to see if it lists some sources. Replace DEVICENAME with whatever name your device is named.
