Introduction

This page lists some of the Bluetooth USB Adapters that work on Ubuntu. For help with Bluetooth in Ubuntu, see the community documentation on Setting up Bluetooth. You may also want to consider purchasing a free software compatible device. Unlike non-free driver dependent hardware support exists out of the box and will continue working going forward. Many other Bluetooth dongles will not. Free software compatible adapters are available from stores such as ThinkPenguin.com.

To get information about you BlueTooth device use commands:

gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

There is a patch available in bluez but it is easier to just edit the files. The first edit stops ubuntu automatically loading the module and the second loads the module with the correct parameter. (Thank you Marcel Holtmann).

Bluetake

Works out-of-the-box in Ubuntu v10.04 ~ 11.04 but stopped working reliably in 11.10, frequent kernel panics and other general not good stuff, [Bug: 901770]

  Драйверы для устройств Bluetooth CSR 💾

  В связи с наличием беспроводных наушников решил заказать донгл для их подключения к ПК. Как часто бывает, при установке китайского устройства, возникли проблемы. Поэтому я решил показать другим, где скачать и как установить CSR v 4.0 Bluetooth драйвер на Windows 10 и 7.

  Как поставить CSR 4.0 Bluetooth драйвер на Windows 10 или 7 64x

  С диска

  В комплекте вместе с адаптером шел диск. Вот как он выглядит:

  

  Так как дисковода у меня нет, файлы с него я нашел в интернете. Вы можете загрузить их по ЭТОЙ ссылке. В комплект, помимо нужного сертификата, входит программа, в которую включена поддержка A2DP и виртуального каталога подключенных устройств. После инсталляции все заработает автоматически. Вес архива 407 мегабайт. Вот так выглядит установщик:

  Данный вариант мне не понравился из-за постоянного отвала девайсов, которые я подключал к блютузу. Также раздражало моргание светодиода, которое работало даже после отключения персонального компьютера от сети. Поэтому я решил проблему другим способом.

  Через диспетчер устройств

  Я узнал, что в bluetooth csr 4.0 установлен чип от Cambridge Silicon Radio маркировки 8510 A10. Вот что я сделал, и это можете попробовать сделать вы:

  

  1. В панели управления зайдите в «Устройство и принтеры»
  2. Выберите «Dongle»

  

  Во вкладке «Оборудование» выберите «Свойства»

  

  Во вкладке «Общие» выберите «Изменить параметры»

  

  Нажмите «Обновить драйвер»

  

  В открывшемся окне кликните на «Выполнить поиск на этом компьютере»

  

  Теперь кликните на «Выбрать из списка ужу установленных»

  

  Снимите галочку «Только совместимые устройства». Теперь, в колонке производитель выберите «CambridgeSiliconRadio LTD». В правой колонке найдите CSRNanosira-multimedia и установите его, нажав «Далее».

  

  Увидев сообщение, как на скриншоте ниже, перезагрузите ПК или ноутбук.

  Теперь вы можете подключать любые гаджеты прямо из под Виндовс.

  Примечание

  Если у вас будет плохое качество звука, то аудио устройство нужно перевести на «Стерео режим», отключив «Hands Free». Это также делается через «Принтеры».

  Cambridge Silicon Radio CSR 4.0 USB Bluetooth Dongle

  My research on Amazon showed me that there were many USB Bluetooth 4.0 Dongles to choose from, and many seemed to be re-branded CSR 4.0, so I bought the one that was actually branded CSR 4.0 for about $12, and in two days, Amazon prime had it in my hands.

  Installing the CSR 4.0 USB Bluetooth Dongle

  Being a Windows 10 computer, the Bluetooth adapter should have been plug and play, but unfortunately, that was not the case. A quick check-in Windows 10 device manager showed me the CSR 4.0 was installed, but there was an error message. Here we go, a simple task is now a project.

  My initial thought was that maybe there was a driver needed after all, but my research told me that the CSR 4 USB Bluetooth adapter does not require any driver other than what is included with the Windows 10 operating system.

  My second thought was there was another device interfering with the installation, so I removed my iPhone, Sharkk Boombox, and Amazon Tap. Then in Windows Device Manager, I selected “Show Hidden Devices” and removed any additional Bluetooth devices that are no longer being used. Once that was done, I rebooted the computer and reinstalled the CSR Bluetooth adapter. The installation failed again. That was when the answer hit me.

  (Solved) CSR 4.0 USB Adapter Won’t Install

  The solution is simple. Windows 10 can’t operate two Bluetooth radios at the same time. The Lenovo notebook’s internal Bluetooth radio needs to be disabled to use the CSR 4 and probably any other USB Bluetooth Adapter.

  Update: Hamish Blackall commented the following “USB 3 ports are not recommended” That is worth noting.
