Download VueScan

We distribute VueScan for linux in three forms, .deb for debian/Ubuntu distributions, .rpm for Red Hat/Fedora distributions, and .tgz for other Linux systems.

You can download whichever is best for your situation here

Ubuntu Installation Instructions

Vuescan works on Ubuntu and most of its derivatives such as Lubuntu and Mint. Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, and other Debian-based distributions all use .deb files and the dpkg package management system. To install the software:

• Download the Debian linux file (.deb) from our website
• Use the dpkg command to install the file from the command line

Example installing version 9.7.90 :

sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/vuex64-9.7.90.deb 

VueScan should then appear in the accessories menu.

Open the .exe file from your Downloads at the top right of your browser window. Open the .exe file from your Downloads at the bottom left of your browser window. Open the .exe file from your Downloads at the top right of your browser window. Open the .dmg file from your Downloads at the top right of your browser window. Open the .dmg file from your Downloads at the lower left corner of your browser window. Open the .dmg file from your Downloads at the top right of your browser window.

Allow the VueScan Installer to make changes to your system. You may also be asked to install the VueScan Driver.

Drag and drop the VueScan icon to your Applications folder, or double click to Launch VueScan.

Open VueScan either from the Start menu or Desktop and start scanning.

Open VueScan from your Applications folder or open the Launchpad (CMD+Space) and type VueScan to launch VueScan.

Install vuescan-bin link

There are two typical methods to install vuescan-bin from AUR. pacman is the choice for you if you are a seasoned Linux user and have the knowledge of how packages are built. If not, yay is an acceptable alternative to install packages without the need to review PKGBUILD and build packages with makepkg yourself.

Using pacman (Default) link

sudo pacman -S --needed git && git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/vuescan-bin.git && cd vuescan-bin && makepkg -sicontent_copy

1. Install git if needed (not installed before).
2. clone the package’s git repository from source.
3. cd into the folder that we just cloned.
4. Build the package with makepkg . Also, it will automatically be installed with pacman if built successfully.

Using yay (AUR Helper) link

yay -S vuescan-bincontent_copy

Update vuescan-bin link

Updating AUR packages is practically the same as installing them. All you have to do is pull it from AUR then re-build it. However, it is still recommended to upgrade your whole system first with sudo pacman -Syu before updating any packages to avoid breaking your system, since Arch is a rolling-release Linux distribution.

Using pacman (Default) link

git pull && makepkg -sicontent_copy

1. pull from the package’s git repository.
2. Build the package with makepkg , then update it with pacman .

Using yay (AUR Helper) link

Remove vuescan-bin link

Removing packages is the simplest of these three,all you have to do is choose whether to keep the unused dependencies and the configuration files generated by the package.

Using pacman (Default) link

sudo pacman -R vuescan-bincontent_copy

sudo pacman -Rs vuescan-bincontent_copy

sudo pacman -Rns vuescan-bincontent_copy

Using yay (AUR Helper) link

yay -R vuescan-bincontent_copy

yay -Rs vuescan-bincontent_copy

yay -Rns vuescan-bincontent_copy
