Double Commander

Hi. Today, I wanted to connect to a WebDAV server using DoubleCmd (1.0.0 alpha, nightly build revision 9653), however, it didn’t success.

First, I tried to use a WebDAV WFX plugin from Total Commander, however, it seems to be Windows specific (using DLLs). Next, I’ve encountered that post:

since doublecmd v0.7.0 and higher already have builtin gvfs support all you need is right click on path above file panel and enter address
also latest ftp-plugin have sftp support

However, it didn’t work as well. I also have found an (~10 years) old gvfs standalone plugin in the DCmd source code, however, it doesn’t seem to be built by default in the DCmd build. Should I compile it with gcc manually? Is it compatible with the latest version?

The key question is, what is a recommended way to connect to a WebDAV server using Double Commander?

Right after sending this question, I’ve come with an idea to use VFS from Gnome Shell File Manager and connect to WebDAV there, switching a left panel to that «virtual drive» in DoubleCmd. That works fine. Nevertheless, if there is a plugin for that in DCmd, it would be easier, more native.

P.S. I’m somehow lost after the forum update. How can I enable email notifications on that post? I don’t see any «monitor», «subscribe» or something.

Hi, I guess nothing changed.

DC can open WebDAV via GFVS («gvfs-backends» package required). As written above simply need to enter address like «davs://webdav.yandex.ru». If it does not work then something wrong.

Thanks for your quick responses. Yes, I’ve been using only «dav://» and «http://», not «davs://». With «davs://» I see that a connection to server is established (with netstat), but there is still «Loading file list. «.

I can connect to that server (local server without authentication hosted by TC Wifi from Total Commander on Android) using Firefox, GVFS from Gnome and cadaver.

I tried to run it with strace, but even without any action on my side (related to WebDAV) the output is cluttered with:

Do you know what could be wrong (with WebDAV)? How could I debug the root problem (without the noise of EAGAIN)?

При удалении/копировании содержимое панели не обновляется. Перемещение не реализовано? Корзину тоже открывает, но названия файлов такие же как и в ~/.local/share/Trash.

Медленно. У меня яндексдиск подключён в файловую систему с помощью davfs, так вот это быстрее и пароль каждый раз вводить не надо…

актуально только для моего арча, так что еще не факт что тут дело в dc, а не в моих прямых руках
у gtk первый раз коннект происходит без проблем, но вот если если нажать отмену в окне логина или отключить через наутилус — при следующем подключении вылазит это

на машине с бубунтой все в порядке.
qt-версия не ругается, но после 3-4 отмен окно логина перестает появляться, а процесс продолжает висеть после закрытия.
