Zorin OS 16.1 — давайте посмотрим!

Zorin OS — это открытая операционная система на базе Linux. Ее разрабатывает команда из Ирландии, на основе Ubuntu , верней на основе долгосрочных версий Убунту. Разработчики делают ставку на дружелюбный интерфейс, который позволит легче адаптироваться пользователям, которые пытаются мигрировать с Windows на Линукс .

В целом, Zorin вызвал у меня не однозначные чувства, еще на этапе загрузки дистрибутива. У операционной системы есть три версии:

• Zorin Pro — полноценная система, с дополнительными настройками интерфейса, расширенным набором программ и с поддержкой от разработчиков. Стоит она 40 Евро.
• Zorin Core — вроде как тоже полноценная система, только без поддержки от разработчиков (обновления она тоже получает, просто разработчики уже не помогут решить ваши проблемы в режиме реального времени). В ней меньше предустановленного софта и кастомизация чуть урезана.
• Zorin Lite — специальная версия для слабых компьютеров, в которой заменено окружение Gnome, на XFCE.

Честно сказать — это довольно странный подход в мире Linux. Когда вас завлекают в мир открытых операционных систем, вам всегда говорят, что это — бесплатно. И это действительно так, тот самый Linux Mint можно скачать и использовать абсолютно бесплатно. Но почему-то, Zorin первым делом предлагает вам платную версию, но если вы чуть прокрутите мышкой, то увидите и бесплатные дистрибутивы. Но давайте говорить откровенно — такой подход отталкивает.

Понятно что разработчики тоже нуждаются в поддержке, но обычно вас не тычат в это носом. Тот же самый Минт, тоже имеет систему поддержки, но по желанию, если вы попробовали систему, она вам понравилась и вы решили поддержать создателей!

Что же такое Zorin?

Первое что бросается в глаза после установки системы — это довольно привлекательный внешний вид. Зорин действительно выглядит легко и элегантно. Но если копнуть чуть глубже — понимаешь, что перед тобой знакомый уже Gnome, просто на него натянули другую тему и заменили иконки. В принципе, вы можете проделать это сами, на любом дистрибутиве использующем Гном в качестве рабочего окружения. На канале даже есть отдельная статья об этом!

Так же, разработчики установили другое меню, похожее на меню-пуск из Windows. Такую операцию вы тоже можете проделать самостоятельно.

Единственное, чем пожалуй выделяется Zorin в плане интерфейса, это специальное приложение Zorin Appearance , в котором можно быстро изменить конфигурацию рабочего стола и тему. Однако в бесплатной версии выбор не велик, чтобы раскрыть все возможности, придется приобрести Zorin OS Pro. К тому же, в Manjaro есть очень похожее приложение — Appearance, с аналогичным функционалом. Так что разработчики Зорин и тут не придумали ничего нового.

Ну и разумеется, в Zorin вы найдете целый ворох предустановленного софта. Хотя в бесплатной версии — Zorin Core, этот набор программ практически не отличается от аналогичного в Ubuntu или Linux Mint.

В плане производительности, я не заметил особой разницы с Ubuntu. Система после старта потребляет стандартные 1.5 Гб оперативной памяти. Правда приложения и магазин с ними, работают заметно быстрее, поскольку Zorin не перешел на Snap . Он по прежнему оперирует DEB-пакетами , но из коробки умеет подтягивать софт во Flatpak .

Честно, не хочется делать откровенно негативный обзор на Zorin, но так выходит, что это просто Убунту, с предварительно настроенным интерфейсом и нескучными обоями. При этом, количество изменений в системе — минимальное.

Кто-то скажет, но чем это отличается от популярного Linux Mint. Отвечу — разработчики Мяты разрабатывают свое рабочее окружение — Cinnamon. И оно действительно дружелюбно к новым пользователям, Зорин, к сожалению, до этого уровня простоты и интуитивности не дотягивает.

Вы можете использовать этот дистрибутив, только если вам совсем не хочется настраивать интерфейс Linux под себя. Тут вы получаете более гибкую кастомизацию из коробки. Хотя лично для меня, настройка рабочего окружения — это особый ритуал, ведь мне всегда хочется все переделать под себя. А это доступно практически в любом окружении, главное — чтобы было желание.

В целом Zorin смотрится не плохо, но пока, он не имеет чего-то своего. Это больше похоже не на полноценный дистрибутив Linux, а на обычную сборку с веселыми темами, нескучными обоями и кучей предустановленного софта. Вернее не обычную сборку, а на сборку за 40 Евро. Что тоже, не вызывает ни доверия, ни уважения. А что думаете вы?
