You’ll find many of the answers to these questions and much more in my «Tutorials».
Why is there no iOS version?
As far as I know it is not possible because Apple doesn’t provide the needed API’s.
Why is there no 6GHz band (Wi-Fi 6E)?
My current plan is to implement the 6GHz band in 2024 (with the support of Wi-Fi 7).
I currently do not have the equipment to test it (I have no 6GHz capable devices yet).
Why doesn’t it find any networks?
You’ll get more information in my tutorial «Error messages explained» (No networks found).
Why doesn’t it show me as connected, but I know I am?
You’ll get more information in my tutorial «Connecting to networks» (Error messages).
Why doesn’t it find my Wi-Fi adapter?
You’ll get more information in my tutorial «Error messages explained» (Wi-Fi adapter not found).
Why doesn’t it show me the correct channel bandwidth?
You’ll get more information in my tutorial «Platform & hardware limitations» (Channel bandwidth not supported).
Why doesn’t it show me the Link-Speed?
You’ll get more information in my tutorial «Platform & hardware limitations» (Link-Speed not supported).
Why can’t I upgrade to the PRO-Version?
You’ll get more information in my tutorial «Upgrade to PRO» (Problems?).
Why don’t I get the PRO-Version which I bought on another device?
You’ll get more information in my tutorial «Upgrade to PRO» (Problems?).
Why are networks shown outside of the graph?
Maybe you have set the wrong region in the app. Wi-Fi frequencies differ from region to region so make sure you have set the correct one.
Why does the speedmeter & graphs refresh so slow?
It takes time to search for networks (this depends heavily on the used hardware). This is also the reason I don’t use animations.
Why can’t I find the app on Windows 8.1 & Windows Phone 8.1?
These kind of apps can not work with earlier versions than Windows 10 because the API’s necessary are simply not available there. The API’s where introduced with the Windows 10 UWP app model.
Why no ping & speed test?
I won’t implement these because it is not the primary function of this app. A speed test will messure the speed of the Internet and not of the Wi-Fi connection. Microsoft’s «Network Speed Test» does a great job in case you’ll need it. The Link-Speed does exactly this, but is not supported on any hardware right now.
Why is there no screenshot functionality?
Because this functionality is built into Windows 10 itself.
Mobile: Press «Power + Volume-Up» hardware button.
PC: Press «Windows-Key (WINKEY) + PrintScreen (PRTSCN)».
Tutorials
These manuals are mostly based on my app «WiFi Analyzer» for Windows 10/11.
Also, I have created a “YouTube Playlist” with some helpful videos (not just from me).
«Wi-Fi problems and your home layout» from Microsoft support, which featured my app, could also help.

Graphs explained
With the «Momentary» graph you can see which channels are more crowded and which are not. The thicker graph (parabola) is the connected network and in case you want to see only the overlapping networks in color, turn off «More colors».
Graph marks explained
- Orange: Scale for the signal strength (more about this in my «Wi-Fi basics» tutorial)
- Green: Current band viewed
- Yellow: Channel numbers (more about this in my «Wi-Fi basics» tutorial)
- White: Networks found per channel (this has to be activated on the «View» button)
Buttons explained
- Blue: Switch between the 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz band
- Brown: Switch between «Momentary» and «Time» graph
- Red: «View» button to configure the graphs
- Pink: Filters
What does the blue line mean?
In case you see the blue line you are currently connected to a network on the other band you just view. Then the rating is not available because I need a point of reference on the same frequency band. In this example, the connected network is on the 2.4 GHz band and the band is set to 5 GHz.
Platform & hardware limitations
This depends heavily on your hardware, basically the Wi-Fi adapter driver which not always reports the actual throughput (what is necessary for the Link-Speed to work). I got this info from a Microsoft developer in the network team who came across my app and contacted me about this.
My app has nothing to do with this, so there is nothing I can do to fix it. this is hardware or driver related!
For Desktop/Laptops/Tablets, I know of these two (which I bought based on feedback and I can confirm that they work also on my systems but please don’t make me responsible if it doesn’t because there could be a lot of factors involved here):
And make sure you buy buy these exact models, because any other may not work.

Channel bandwidth not supported
This is a huge limitation, but the Windows 10/11 UWP apps currently can not detect this because the API’s (Application programming Interface) are not present. Hopefully Microsoft will add these soon. my app is already ready for this 😉 .
Detection of unsupported bands of a Wi-Fi adapter
It currently is impossible to detect whether a Wi-Fi adapter is capable of a certain band so I could prevent the user of switching to it. For example if your adapter is not capable of 5 GHz (and there are many out there which are not), then I would have preferred to not give the user the choice to switch to it because it will not find any networks anyway.
